Zaporizhian March - with an “intro” by Hobart Earle, 1983/2023

Recorded live in the Odesa Opera House on September 8, 2023. Hobart Earle conducts the Odesa Philharmonic Orchestra in a performance of the “Zaporizhian March”. The march is shown here in an exotic video, combining highly unusual camera-angles and drones - using the sound from the September 8, 2023 concert at all times, but combining the visual images from inside the Opera with the outdoor video commissioned in 2020 by the United Nations for UN75. The march is preceded by Hobart Earle’s composition “Reminiscence” for clarinet and piano (1983) in an instrumentation for large orchestra that Hobart Earle undertook this summer, in August 2023.
