Greek American guy who basically grew up in Chicago. Soccer and Basketball are my 2 loves. Tbh I was a much better basketball player than soccer because in the 90's in Chicago with MJ all we played was basketball. Went to visit Family in Greece in 2001 and in basketball I was much better than everybody, but then we played soccer. I sucked. The pitch was much bigger and I realized how much harder it was doing the little things in soccer than basketball. Receiving a pass, not losing a ball. There are a lot of similarities but soccer is a lot more skill than basketball. Having handles in a court with your hands is waaay easier than dribbling a ball and passing and scoring with your feet. I love basketball but playing soccer as a basketball player made me appreciate and respect soccer ALOT.
