Huge hit in our family. We use the Fox moves four spaces difficulty and we win about 60 percent of the time. it's a good game that my 7yo and 9yo can lead yet is still fun for mom and dad. We say caught red handed! Green goes free! Keeps it straight. One the best family games we have.
I just picked this up, the newest printing fixed the red/green issue. They've made the red dots green and removed everything else. So if it's blank, they're not suspected. If green, they are a suspect.
I ordered a copy from Amazon recently, and I almost tried to return it as the back of the box shows the old cards with red/green dots. But I decided to open it and was pleasantly surprised to see the cards were the improved cards with the green/blank dots.
+IronSalamander8 I suspect they might have been thinking red means guilty and green means innocent (i.e. green on the cane means cane holders are innocent), but it probably wasn't a good call. Additionally, that aspect isn't very red/green colorblind friendly since it didn't seem there were any types of icons in the revealed circles. It might be different in different parts of the world or in different cultures, but red for "yes, the suspect does have a top hat" is very odd.
@@sarahblam thanks for the info. In watching this I was thinking the same thing. Just ordered this on a deal of the day on Amazon. Can't wait to try it with our kiddos!
You do a great job explaining and evaluating! So glad we found your channel! Perfect review of how how to play family games! Nice and great quality. Thank u!
The green and red comment is spot on! I was actually confused when you said red was a clue and green means it is a no. Our version only has the green dots for yes clues. That may be something to mention in an edit of the video.
Tom have you played Whowasit? Seems very similar in terms of deduction and mechanics without the electronic device or Fantasy Castle theme. I do like the clue giving device though.
Just ordered this, seen below they have switched the red/green dots which is great as I too instantly thought you would say 'No top hat' when you see red. Thanks for great review.
This looks so cool. I'm gonna try it with my 4 and 2 year old. Obviously 2 year old won't have a clue yet. Are there any other games you would recommend for really young players?
+MarcusWindrune Figuratively speaking, it's a blending of mechanics from various games. In this case, you take the deduction from "Guess Who?", add some dice à la "Yahtzee" and mix in the whodunnit genre from "Clue". Any plugs for RUclips shows in my comment, ongoing or otherwise, are purely coincidental.
as a UX designer yes Red should mean NO and Green YES I guess they are playing with the road and letting people pass or not idea, in which case Red for stop right there makes sense

Is there a particular model number we should look out for? Getting ready to buy the game on Amazon/ Ebay.
I also want to make sure I get the right version now lol
Buying in the UK last year automatically came with the green dots only from Amazon.

Thanks for the kind words, Tom!
+Gamewright Get the people over at CoolStuff to get some copies in stock. It has been on my wishlist since October but not available...
Gamewright, Outfoxed has provided so much joy and bonding time with our 4, 7 and 8 year old children. Thanks so much for this brilliant game!
I agree on the red/green Tom. It does feel counter-intuitive to me as well.

We recently bought this game and they've fixed it - green means yes the suspect has it, and instead of red it's blank if the thief does not have it.
@@sarahblam That's great news, sarah! Thanks for this information.

So looking forward to playing games like this with a little ones of my own. Then again, that is still years down the pipeline.
Tom has a hat. Is he the suspect?
Always.
Think red as ALERT!
Exactly!
RED - STOP that one from leaving, he's still a suspect!
GREEN - They can GO since they are innocent
Thanks very much man...as a father, I found it very useful...cheers
Added to my 5 & 6 year olds' Christmas list for sure. Looks great.

That pocket watch was a monocle.
Neat "check the clue" device.
I bought this game based on this review.
Is this game out yet? Cant find it in Europe!
Agree with you on the colors. I was questioning why red was "positive" during your explanation.
Love this guy
Our Outfoxed! Game thief cards are marked only with green dots.
Ours as well. Confusing
Our thief cards are marked only with green dots.
This is the result of what would happen if you threw "Guess Who?", "Yahtzee" and "Cluedo" (a.k.a. "Clue") into a blender.
+JamesDavy2009 a Boardgame Blender? *raises eyebrow*

they have changed the color scheme. it is now green and white!
Our thief cards only have green dots no red dots.

+Andrew Preston It is a mechanical device in this game, it is just slides to reveal a hole which lets you see a colored dot on a card.
