I just got mine & it's everything you expect, you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned the hard to press buttons, I thought I had a dud watch but you just need to press harder, the online setting videos were a great help too.
I bought the G9000 back in October for around $70. I love the red buttons that add a little retro pop to it. A lot of new watches try to be subdued with muted colors. When I got it in October, I set the time using time.is to get it as spot on as I could without having Multi Band atomic capability. I honestly didn’t have to reset the time for nearly 6 months. It was off by maybe one or two seconds. It’s a great way to get your foot in the door to get a Master of G.
@@degenerateWA I have no idea what makes one quartz movement remain accurate for longer than another, but I was blown away by the accuracy of the G9000. Every time I took it out of by display case and checked it against time.is it was less than a second off. I finally reset it once it got a few seconds slow.
Great review of a classic G, got my well worn one on my wrist as I type this. I know this was posted a little bit ago but figured I’d let ya know if you didn’t that they actually do make a GW9000 that’s solar powered. Dial isn’t quite the same, but the case design and strap are identical so if you were looking for solar, that’s a good buy
Couldnt believe how tiny it was when mine arrived. Battery has to be good for 5 + years so solar isnt a need in my opinion. Although I do have LOTS of solar G Shocks & Protrek watches.
Hi body can you make a video on how to turn of the alarm it bothering me it’s at one in morning stays till 02 morning trying my best to turn it off I could not
@@abdulazizalkurdi2538 Go to the alarm menu and press the "adjust" button (top left button) to turn on/off each alarm. You need to press the bottom right button to scroll through each alarm.
I bought the green military one with negative display (G-9000-3V). Great watch and the best G-Shock I own. The only flaw is its negative display which may be hard to read at times (e.g. during low light conditions). Other than that, everything else is fine - durable, resistant, and wearable watch! 10/10 What do you think about this particular model?
@@degenerateWA Thanks for the reply. Im wondering if I need a screen protector. I drill many materials like metal and luminium. Has it got a good resistance to actual scratches? My last watch which was not a G Shock was covered in scratches in the end.
@@1Jason The crystal itself is not very resistant to scratches, however the bezel does a pretty good job of protecting it from direct impact from it's surroundings. If you've got stuff flying towards you then that's a different situation, but honestly in that case no watch can really survive something like that unscathed. This watch is designed to be abused so I wouldn't worry about it.
@@degenerateWA Thats what I am afraid of. I have not heard anywhere that the actual screen is more scratch resistant than any other watch. I think I will try and make up a screen protector from a mobile phone screen protector this weekend. Thanks for the replies. Have a great day
I'd say most g Shocks average around 8-11 years depending on how much you use the functions. Compared to the 9052, I'd say the Mudman is definitely tougher, but I know Navy divers who swear by the 9052 so I guess it just comes down to your preference.
Do you possibly know if this G-9000-3V(negative display with white characters), is easier to read compared to the G-9000MS-1(negative display with red characters)? There is no video here on YT comparing the two negative displays.
@@degenerateWA The jokes on me mate. Out of interest I checked my G7900 and GD350 and guess what? They've both got the squidged up 2 and I never noticed. Doh! :D

You're not going to get anything extra with the G9000. If you're a collector then go ahead and buy one, but you're just a "one watch person" then you're fine with just the Gulfman.
@@degenerateWA Thank You for Your fast reply! I WAS a collector but in the last half year I selled out my watches and only 9 pieces left but brand new.I bought the gulfman for work, I love it much but before it I had a g7700 what had more informative display... I worn it for 5 years, glass scratched a little bit but nothing else-selled too.I still got ga-2000 ltd and gaussman (yellow-grey ltd) in brand new condition, hold in glass-box 😀👍
The G9000 is just more attractive. The G9100 has a stronger strap and the glass is better protected by the bezel borders ( just my opinion ). I own both and both are good.

Mudman for life

this is yet another stupidly amazing G Shock.

What's the battery🔋 life of this mudman?

I just got the purple version its bad ass
You can't go wrong with a Mudman.
I just got the g9000 for xmas so happy
Nice!

Shame they have to squeeze the first time digit so as it'll all fit. I prefer a 24hr display and that squidged up 2 would annoy me too much I think,

Happy to help
the big question mark is how come it is look like as big as the standard g-shock and when you see it in actual is way too small and skinny?
Optical illusion I guess.
Which watch do you like better between the Mudman and the Timex command?
I like the G9000 Mudman better. It's more sturdy and lives up to its name. Keep in mind that the Command has more functions
hey bro does that Mattlback version comes with tin case bcz normal g9000 come with box package not tin package
Mine did not. I purchased mine on display at a store and it only came with plastic display stand.
DOES DIAL SHOW THE LOCAL TIME AND THE SECOND TIME ZONE SIMULTANEOUSLY?
No
I have the negative version. I really want to get the regular lcd version but I dont like these red buttons..
I think I've seen different colored buttons before.
