I was 13 during the psychedelic year 1967 and even though I never did drugs (friends would say I didn't need drugs...I was out there already) I totally loved the psych music scene. I really got into this album and it has always been a favorite. Being a lover of different sounds this album delivered like few others. In the world of psychedelia this one ranks very high.
Excellent video, Jeff! One of your best!! (and that's quite a feat)

Love this album and this period of the Stones, but man what an incredible psychedelic video you have put together here! Your editing skills are off the chart, well done!

Great album!!!!! She’s A Rainbow! 2,000 Man…I knew the KISS version first. Lol. This is probably the last album where the Stones would chase the Beatles.

I've always liked this album, since I first heard it in the early 70s. It's gotten a lot of hate over the years, but in the youtube era I see that a lot of people really dig it. I always look forward to the videos you come up with to augment your talks. . .and you surely did NOT disappoint this time. Thanks.

Thank you Paul! Maybe not one of their best albums but a very enjoyable ‘listen nonetheless for me.

Jeff , this video is so entertaining! It's the best explanation that I've ever heard of this nontraditional but, for the most part, really good Stones album. Way to go!
Also, Brian Jones' melotron playing here is just outstanding.

Thank you Mark! This was a fun but challenging video to make because there doesn’t exist much footage from late 1967 to draw material from.

17:03 I'm thinking that if those lenticular images had been the full size of an album cover, then most of them would have got damaged -- better that they are smaller, and have the cardboard border of the cover to protect them. :0) By the way, I think this album is a masterpiece! :0)

With the exception of a couple tracks, I really like this album. Weird, yes, but some great tracks. We Love You, Dandelion, and Child of the Moon round out the recordings, and probably should have replaced a few of the tracks on there. Thanks for another fine video, Jeff.

Thanks! If not for that “no singles” policy I think We Love You and Dandelion would have fit perfectly on this album and definitely elevated it.

Hi Jeff!!! yes this era of the Stones seems to be a little messy in all sort of ways....The second tracks sounds pretty cool and different (psych) from all their previous stuff. "She's a Rainbow" has to be one of the best songs they ever created like a radio friendly pop/psych song for the masses.... cheers and be well

Cheers Cristian! 20 years ago I think this album was unanimously dismissed as a weak stab at psychedelia. Now more people are discovering that it’s actually pretty enjoyable.

Great visuals , as usual .
I was 14 when this album came out in December of 1967 , and my reaction to it at the time was , What the hell ?
Aside from 2000 Light Years , and She's a Rainbow , I was having some trouble connecting with the other songs at the time .
I've grown to appreciate the album more and more over the years .
It's a great one to revisit every now and then .
Thanks for reminding me that I have to listen to it again .
    Cheers !

Found this album in the bargain bin 20 years ago. I still have a love/hate relationship with it. Favorite songs are Citadel, In Another Land, 2000 light years, and On with the Show.

Hey Jeff...Thanks for doing these videos. I enjoy 'em.
I like this album. For me there's more to like than not. For all the flack the Stones take for trying to go psychedelic with this album, '2000 Light Years from Home' is a psych masterpiece. 'She's a Rainbow' is also great. I also enjoy 'Citadel', 'The Lantern', and '2000 Man'. The major misstep is 'Sing This All Together (See What Happens)...that could have just been a reprise, comprising of the last minute or so.
I need to do a mono vs. stereo comparison, but typically the version for me is the mono mix.

Killer video Jeff! Not my favorite Stones album! It’s amazing what KISS did with 2,000 man, very reminiscent of what Harry Nilsson did with , Without You!! Probably the only song i really like on this album, I freaking can’t
stand ,She’s A Rainbow, quite possibly my least favorite Stones song ever, great job as always brother 👍🤘🤘

I really like this one. It would’ve been cool to have “We Love You” and “Dandelion” as part of the album.
It wasn’t until I listened to Can’s Tago Mago that I started to appreciate the really strange and experimental tracks. My tolerance really went up after that, for good or bad.
Btw, they recorded on October of ‘67 a demo of what I’m gonna call a power pop rock song. Imagine if they had included this one 😂 ruclips.net/video/XraTRtn14bg/видео.htmlsi=C4GB-SzW_I8dSUb-

There are some silly songs on this record for sure. But there’s also some really good ones. It’s how I feel about Sgt Peppers too. But it was the era. Some color footage in here Ive never seen before. Citadel is a favorite of mine. Another awesome job!

Not a good album in my opinion. Seems too experimental to me. She’s a Rainbow and 2000 Light Years are the only worthwhile songs. Thx for the great coverage which is always very interesting and informative.

The Stones had some good singles in the 60's. Their lps were mediocre at best.
This one hasn't stood the test of time. Decidedly weak.
