Was it the Spanish? Or was it the group of Spaniards that were sent by the vatican and the Roman catholic church and the monarchy? We absolutely must stop blaming whole races of people for something that was controlled by the controllers.

Well technically it wasn't the spainish per say. So don't let that sink in.
What happened is that a Priest that was trying to convert natives came across the books and deemed them heretical after the natives described to him what they were about. He ordered all aztec books and similar to be destroyed.
This didn't go over well with the New Spain government. However they started do so likely so they wouldn't piss off the Catholic Church.
Well its believed he did this out of religious reasons. There's a suspicion that he ordered the books burned as a means of dumbing down the population for easier conversion and control of the population and that he was royally pissed and jealous that the natives had a better IQ than he did. .

@@getlost3346 He didn't defend the Azteca. Mearly pointing out that the Spainish burned books that likely would have given the world a better understanding of them not to mention culture and history.
For slavery everyone did it. The Aztecs, the Mayans, the Olmecs, the Incans, the Spainish, the British, the French, the Dutch, the Chinese, the Japanese, the Russians, The US. The African kingdoms and states. So that argument isn't going to hold much water.
As for sacrificing people. granted that's a giant plus and I'm against sacrificing
However given all the wars that's been waged back and forth for the last 2000 years I don't think the sun is worrying about blood, he seems to have quite a a lot from all those wars and he's been waiting eagerly for your 3rd world war.
Don't give him that banquet. .

You learn those cultures to better understand them good and bad and learn to avoid the mistakes. Cause those cultures are valued history of the past. You learn the. To be better human beings
Comparing them to the nazis and communist russia and China is pathetic. Some of these cultures lasted centuries and never committed the mass slaughter your current civilizations has committed. The nazis turned mass slaughter into industrial killing, and brutalized people all for beliefs of Supremacy. , the soviet union and communist china slaughtered people by the millions by slavery in fields and horrid conditions, starvation, the gulags, secret police. Those 3 faction s committed more horror and death wiping out millions than several civilizations ever done and you still haven't done anything with china which still continues it.

They left Aztlan for a few reasons. 1 they were island. Crowd a bedroom and it gets hard to sleep, move. They also realized that some animals, bugs etc, were leaving. They saw that and decided to move becuase if they stayed, they would end up doing damage to their enviroment.
2 they also left their city sometime after they finished building their nation. 7 cities. Main capital in the middle and the 6 around it kind of like the solar system. Sun governs our space. Capital, government governs their nation.
3 they also left becuase if they stayed, their egos, laziness, perversion, etc; would grow. In order to prevent this, they simply LEFT. They abandoned it. They walked and sailed away from their home becuase their WILLPOWER(huiztilopochtli) told them so. From aztlan they were aztecs. Along the way however, they are now mexica. Me-she-kah. For 260 years they walked and passed down their culture, knowledge and long before they knew where to build their city, Tenochtitlan, they know exactly how they were going to build it.
