What a great engine this B48 is. One of the best four-cylinder engines in the world. It's smooth, punchy and efficient and provides more than enough power in each of its offerings.
I can understand that the van should have checked twice that nobody is coming before he pulled over.. but he was just making room for the trucks on the entrance ramp.. what do you expect? Going 240kmh when the traffic is increasing and expecting to have the left for yourself is irresponsible in my opinion..

The van was at fault and the BMW had to avoid driving into it. It was a emergency situation. Really it is stuff like this that makes autobahns just not safe. The van driver was at fault but the design of having no speed limit is insane. Some "eco" 2.0L BMW blasting 200km+ passed family cars... Burning stupid amounts of fuel in the EU state of "green". Do not get me wrong. There totally should exist fast roads. But only for fun and not transportation. Having some dedicated roads for high speed driving with no family cars or trucks is RIGHT ON! But the WW2 ide of autobahn even if one of the few good things with Germany. It just makes no sense to have this traffic situation be legal. To have machines going with 100km/h speed difference is just way to high. Even now the van have no businesses in that lane it shows how unsafe this kinds of speeds are on a road network.

After watching this, after the van driving at that speed, you still maintain a safe distance with that car. In Spain this is a real safety problem. The distance between the cars at any speed. The lack of respect. Great example of knowing Hoy to drive.

Honestly.. a "great" driver would have recognized the merging traffic on the acceleration lane combined with the congestion and would have slowed casually way before the van merged and expected what happened.. a "good" driver hits the brakes late and gets upset because everyone on the road didn't realize it was BMW track day and didn't stay out of their way.. 🤭
The VW Caddy was wrong, but you arent wrong either. To avoid these kind of situations you have to slow down when you see upcoming traffic. He knows that very well. Germans get Autobahn training when they are taking driving lessons. Anyway, it ended well.

Yes, it is a dual clutch which BMW uses up to the 120i. I guess they draw the line at 300Nm of torque. The 128ti and 135i have the 8-speed ZF torque converter.
This is why you're held accountable (at least partially) for whatever happens when you're going faster than 130 km/h - regardless of whether you're the one causing the accident. It's only a 2 lane Autobahn, lots of traffic, close to an intersection... Perfect conditions to smash the gas pedal and play top speed, right? 🙄 I like these Autobahn videos, i like to see what cars are capable of, but this "market" is getting saturated and I feel like, probably due to scheduling and availability of vehicles, these RUclipsrs are starting to take more risks for the sake of uploading more videos quickly to stay ahead of the competition. IMO it's just a matter of time until disaster strikes.
Too many people for going this speed. The rest of the video was fine, but as soon as I saw this part of the road that was more congestionned despite not knowing when the hard brake was gonna be because I didn't look at the time stamp my first thought was to slow down and I was 99% sure the hard brake was gonna be in the next few seconds.

Are you sure this has a dual clutch? Why wouldn't it have the regular ZF torque converter that BMW uses for all its auto boxes for ages?

Didn't the 120i always have 190 HP?
The F20 120i had 184HP up until late 2019. The F40 120i now was reduced to 178HP with the same B48 engine. Probably due to higher emission standards.
Due to BMW in cold weather conditions (less than 25 degree celsius) the new 120i/220i has up to 196 PS

There are 196hp available but only for 8 - 40s depending on outside temperature. The colder the better. EU6 Emissions are the reason

There is a small white sign beneath the 80 that says: 22-06. So that speed limit only applies during night time.
