This episode dissects the classic Nujabes track Reflection Eternal. Included is a brief lesson on the history and variety of timestretching methods available for producers to use over the years. It's a good one!
As always, project files and other downloads available at beatbreakdown.net Видеоклипы
Bro I don't know if it's an innate quality but when you recreate Dilla or Nujabes beats, I can feel the love and soul and effort you put into trying to recreate beats from beat conductors.
I get that same feeling from you and nujabes, like you were both pouring your heart into the beat. And for that, you deserve more recognition.
I never thought I'd find a channel like this until I finally did by pure chance. I sure am lucky I did.
Where did you go my man :(
He does the Dissect podcast
@@R4NDOMUS3RNAME THANKS MAN
During the vocals "your're a river, you're a rainbow" I have always heard the slight pluck of the guitar string from the sample and I could never tell why exactly it was there. It felt "off." It is cool to know that it just snuck its way through the filters!
Anthony Martire me too! I’ve always liked it though, and even more so now that I know how it got there.
i agree, it sounds very off, i thought i was the only one
Would love to see you recreate Feather by Nujabes!
type in nujabes feather remake, into youtube. it's the first vid that pops up. the screenshot of the vid should be an mpc 2000. a guy remakes the entire beat. Its a loop, and a really good one at that.
ruclips.net/video/5xOO3qslxfE/видео.html tried to make an instrumental of feather. let me know what u think!
I'd love another Nujabes breakdown. Happy birthday/ Rest in Beats Nujabes and Dilla
Do more Nujabes, or DJ Okawari, or Nomak! Fuck it, do everyone!
Another important thing to note is the Nujabes adds a reverse delay for the tail end of each simple that is filtered further, that way the sample can kind of smoothly fade off, rather than harsh chops. At least for the vocals in this song.
thank you. It means a lot to peek behind the curtain the creative process of the one and only Nujabes. RIP Jun.
Love these videos ! It makes people who don't mix/know about mixing realize how much work is really behind these tracks. Props man
You've just gained a subscriber.
What I find so wonderful about using samples is shown in the vocal track. The little imperfections creep in and subtly fill out a mix.
Rest in Peace, Nujabes
This cat was so skilled at this. Sandurz that is. But in being so good he shined light on producers. Showing how good & groundbreaking some (like nujabes) really were.
If I can make a request, 3030 by Deltron 3030, one of my favorite songs of all time.
YES
The drumming near the beginning sounds like Questlove.
Good ear! It's from a drum break Questlove put out for free.
I really like this video. I think your content is exceptional. Please create more nujabes breakdowns! 😁🔥🔥🔥
This is disgustingly sweet.
Hope you keep it coming!

I fuck with this channel. Please keep doing this as it is enlightening.
I really believe that if people knew more about the sampling process behind many of these types of songs, they'll learn to appreciate them more. Thanks for explaining those production processes in addition to putting together the track, really great stuff! Have you thought about doing some Madlib or more J Dilla?
This was awesome man keep up the good work

Just found your channel thanks to AV Club. I've gotta say I love this series. Out of curiosity, do you happen to know the source of the vocal sample from the Nujabes track "Another Reflection" from Hydeout Productions Collection II?
Francis Cooper thanks! Hmm can't say that I do.
+Francis Cooper I would LOVE to know where the vocal sample on Another Reflection is from, it's so beautiful
+Sandurz Could you break down and recreate Death Wish by Force of Nature? There's a sample in it by Baby Huey that I'm having trouble recreating.
MF Doom - One beer, the beat on the track please :D
It's prod by madlib
Thanks
sick dude~~
1000th like! good shit my man

You da man!
Do more nujabes!! Also anything from illmatic or bone thugs would be rad :)
Dope
Where is he !?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? He is a huge inspiration to me and a lot of other producers
You gotta do T.R.O.Y by Pete Rock & CL Smooth and Hey Ma by Cam'ron ft. Juelz Santana
That beat is really fucking hard
Do more Nujabes!!
i wish you still uploaded dude
Yeah I really like these videos so if you could continue to do them that would be great...how about company flow's "8 steps to perfection"?
hey bro, this vid is sick. how do you get those samples? i wanna sample diferrent kinds of music how can take only the melody or rythym that i want from an auido file.
what's the first type of speeding up called? i'd like to do some of that, but i don't know the name. also, how it's done would be helpful
Could you please do one for aruarian dance? Thanks!
really interested what sampleing tool/physical playthingy your use to cut these so nicely
wasis dalos maschine
thanks 4 the thesis paper on sampling buzzcut
hey, I'd like to know what native instruments maschine are you using !

What do you think about nujabes music and how he created it?
J Dilla - Gobstopper (from Doughnuts, but u know that)
Eres el puto amo!! :D

well done, sir. i am thoroughly enjoying your videos.
i would love to see "ghostwriter" by rjd2 or "turtle soup (wagon christ mix)" by dj food.
thank you, sir. be well.
Do more plz
More nujabes bro!
good stuff! it's nu-juh-bess, btw
There's no real pronunciation as his stage name is merely an anagram
Where did you go?
Hey man you should see if you can do Hard Knock Life Jay-Z really curious about how that sampled beat comes to be.
kanye produced that
I know haha
No he didnt
Please do "the food by common and kanye"
Do Logic Fade away
how do you spell niriko koze or whatever the japanese person the sample came from's name was?
Noriko Kose
Thanks mang
Ahhhhhh, so it IS sampling that makes that funky digital synthy sound! Interesting. Is there a way to just make my midi piano sound sexy like that!? :(
Rahil Patel It's a way hopefully you can even chop up samples with your MIDI
Play your piano loop in at a Norma tempo then chop your own loop up.
Sandy where can i get drums like these
Chopping funk records
Nujabes was big on Funk records. Fink has the best, in my opinion, drum breaks to sample for production, but yeah, there are other genres with drum breaks.
"Black Star - Little Brother" next !
airborn101st Impossible
Would be tough, but not completely impossible.
Programs
Do "The poeple by common"
Leaflo *kanye
Fat Jon - You Are...
有中文字幕就好了
baby sandy
