THANK YOU SO MUCH for taking the time to watch this video. We absolutely LOVED our time at Disney's newest private island Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. After watching the video, what did you think of what we showed you on the island? Are you excited to check it out? What are you most excited to see? Let me know in the comments below!
Hey Jamie, Perry family here! You did a great review of Lookout Cay and what we should expect on our September sailing. That pier…that long pier! 😅Praying that Disney listens to feedback and adds some seating and shade along the pier.
As other blogs have covered (and we mentioned) the worst is certainly the walk from the pier to the island. While yes, buildings and sites are spread out, Disney has built walking bridges EVERYWHERE. So once on the island I felt like the walking wasn’t as bad as castaway, because on castaway you spend so much of your day trudging through beach and sand… which is far worse I think!
Oh my gosh! There's my son helping with our content at 5:54! How cool! I wonder how many of one another's videos we are all in from the preview day. Great job on your video by the way.
Okay the edible straw is wild, who would have thought of that?! Simply amazing. Also is there any transportation to the island or does everyone have to do the 15 min walk? I'm so excited disney has another island! Do you think the wish cruise will alsp get to go there?
Honestly, the edible straw should be implemented EVERYWHERE! Heading to the island I didn’t initially notice any transportation, but on our way back to the ship it seemed they were go-carting people with mobility issues. Even so, this would be the most significant issue they need to address moving forward (I’m pretty confident they will). Even just figuring out shade along the pier would be a big help. The primary ships going to Lookout appear to be the Magic, Fantasy, and Dream. Though from what I can tell it looks the Wish is scheduled for one sailing Jan 27-31st of 2025!
Unfortunately, no there were still flies. Though our experience didn’t seem nearly as bad as other vloggers (the worse experiences seemed to be at True True Too, we dined near the end of lunch time at True True). With that said, it was a preview event, which is where issues like this are identified and dealt with. Consider the fact that mosquitoes don’t “exist” at disneyworld. I suspect this issue will be dealt with in short time. This and the long walk on the pier were the only issues Brad and I experienced that were draw backs. Overall we were impressed with the property.
Hey Jamie, thanks so much for showing your experience. I have bee looking at many different videos and besides the extremely long walk, I hope Disney REALLY takes into consideration about the massive amount of flies around the food. That is ABSOLUTELY something thay should be worked on. To walk a long walk, spend all this money and support DCL, having infestation on food that we are expecting and deserving to eat is beyond a health hazard. I am so scared now to go because I am wondering if my 6 yr old and I will get to eat food that we legit paid for and are looking forward to experience. I also they work on better transportation for the guests to go and come from the ship, its too long and hot think that this was not gonna be an issue. Thanks again for sharing.
You are so welcome! The walk and bugs were not good, but I am confident Disney will be working very hard to fix those issues identified in the preview sailing. Thank you so much for watching!
I’d say the umbrella to lounger distribution was pretty “standard” compared to most places (hotels, etc). With that said, I agree with you and would love to see more umbrellas everywhere!

Looks so cool! Seems like every thing is very spread out tho, like a lot of walking.

I saw several vloggers complaining about flies on & around the food, was this problem solved by the time you checked out the food?

It looks like they need more umbrellas at each set of loungers to me

I want to see it!
You’ll love it! Anything jump out at you in the video?
Where did Brad get his Star Wars hat?
Grabbed it for like 3 bucks at the Character warehouse before jumping on the cruise! Pretty great eh?
@@jamiethomasshow oh wow, nice score! Fits the Bahamian vibe too.
@@nyrhtak1hadn’t noticed that but it totally does 😂
Is there food near the family cabanas? If not, what do families do for lunch?
Great question! Disney actually brings the food to you! So you get personalized delivery service!
