Bruce was human living in a tough world, and not everyone is strong enough to live sober. Some people just cannot cope without drug or alcohol addiction. But Bruce Lee will always be a Kung Fu legend. Let's hate the sin and love the person.
Regardless of what Bruce was doing in his private life, his approach to martial arts is recognised and acknowledged by UFC and all MMA organisations - not to mention so many traditional practitioners worldwide who really know what they are talking about. Bruce was ahead of his time and his legacy is alive and well everytime there's a fight in an octagon anywhere in the world. That cannot be taken away from him. His legacy lives on
@Tony and who were these masters already doing what Bruce Lee did? No-one was mixing martial arts styles at that time at the level Bruce Lee was. Everyone was locked in a style and that remains the case for many martial arts practitioners even today. Bruce had numerous fights outside of competitions. He stated his disike for competition fighting because of the restrictions caused by rules. Several high profile champions have acknowledged the skill of Bruce Lee from sparring sessions - any fighter knows how sparring sessions get real and turn into fighting especially when reputation and ego comes into it. There is acknowledgement from Chinese practitioners who confirm the skill of Bruce Lee - they would not do that if it wasn't true. Titles and medals are not the only way to prove a fighters worth. Back in Bruce Lee's time, the amount and nature of competition fighting was much less than today. A different time with different situations
What this information should have people talking about is how this may explain his pre mature death as a factor 😳, but I still love ❤ him and mabey more for his humanity ❤
Absolute honour to have grown up in a time well associated with Bruce. What a remarkable man and talent. May the future generations appreciate what i do. To me Lee represented all that life is and could be X
When I found out about the letters I wasn't so surprised. He's had a reputation for being a bad boy and wasn't a monk in his demeanor and fighting style. Reason I wasn't surprised is bc it was well known he hit weed pretty hard. He also owned guns. He also was paranoid. Things like this don't paint the martial saint image. The drugs area of his life do not make me think less of his legendary skills which were ahead of their time by around 30-40 years
What if the drugs were a factor to contributing to his skills? Many fighters today are looked down on for drug use and the ability for drugs to enhance their abilities. By Bruce's own admission, he used drugs to help with character creations in his movies and jkd.
Most of these guys trash talking Bruce Lee have never did anything in there lives. I love how people come on RUclips and pretend to be the grand master wizard of martial arts and don't even know what the word martial means. And I'm talking about the definition, not the origin. Most of them smoking crack their damn selves while they trash talk the man who basically brought the idea or theory of mma to America. Until then everybody was strictly one style (in America). Then slowly people began combining things as the MMA begins to unfold but Bruce was definitely one of the original mixed style guys.
At 46 I can remember growing up with Bruce Lee posters on my wall and literally watching and reading anything I could get my hands on about him. I'm disappointed and hurt and truly don't know how to feel. I know that nobody is perfect but he was/is an icon. I almost wish the letters were never discovered. Just another lesson about the fallacy of idols. They can inspire us to live our best lives but it should stop at hero worship.

Bruce Lee 😂 if anyone has ever met and trained with a real master will understand why those masters of his time didnt dig him much. He was in it for himself and just a puppet.
It was the opposite. The masters of his time couldn't compete with him, especially the Chinese, who tried to stop him one way or another and failed miserably - so no wonder they didn't dig him. Get to know any high profile, high level martial artist and you will think they are in it for themselves - it's the nature of anyone at an elite level. Bruce Lee 😂 if anyone has ever met and trained with a real master will understand why those masters of his time didnt dig him much.
He was in it for himself and just a puppet.
Dint Bruce try to spread, the original martial arts In Sanfran, but the "established" chinese Dint like it 🤔?!?
It was the opposite. The masters of his time couldn't compete with him, especially the Chinese, who tried to stop him one way or another and failed miserably - so no wonder they didn't dig him.
Get to know any high profile, high level martial artist and you will think they are in it for themselves - it's the nature of anyone at an elite level. As for him being a puppet, that's another reason why those masters didn't dig him, he refused to be controlled by their highly structured culture of subservience and subordination. Bruce Lee was many things but a puppet was not one of them
@@franklee1205 that's right Frank. He had to beat someone (don't remember his name) who represented the Chinese
Kung Fu community in SanFran. Only then was he 'allowed' to teach Kung Fu to non-Chinese (a other reason why Bruce Lee was way ahead of his time and other masters didn't dig him)
