Tbh I couldn’t hear Felip’s vocals when I watched the Bulan premiere. Thanks to the earlier vlogs and tweets that discussed the mythology behind Bulan and the English subtitles, I got an idea of what the MV is about. But only by watching Bulan over and over again did I have a deeper appreciation of the meaning, symbolisms and message of the song. Your reaction Divine, added an entirely new dimension to my understanding. Now where shall I start with the cinematography and choreography? Astounding. Not to mention the dancer who performed the part of Haliya is from Ballet Philippines, the daughter of my good friend and High School classmate. How cool is that? So much in awe of Felip and the young talents (including Stell’s other-worldly vocal intro) who bravely put out this masterpiece. Bravo!!! 👏👏💖💖🌙🌙🔥🔥🥰🥰

What Felip did hear was not singing just straight up stating facts and I'm all ears to every word he says and what's so crazy is.... that every word he utters matches the visuals clip for clip! I'm 100% sure that his message will be loud & clear even to our hearing impaired brothers!

💡Do you know the reason why Felip used heavy beat sounds in #FELIP_Bulan? Everyone noticed that it's louder than his voice. In the legend, people managed to protect the last of the seven moons from the Bakunawa by making loud noise. They use Gong to make the dragon retreat to the sea. This shows that the heavy sounds of guitar and other beats used in Bulan serves their weapon against the enemy.

Me and mommy Minerva watched the Music Video of it and it's still hard for me to believe that the person in Bulan mv and our baby Kenken is just the same. Felip in Palayo has the sexy RnB vibe while Bulan is a powerful song. But both songs seems have the message of loving yourself and have confidence in yourself. I also think in the song Bulan, Ken's message is also "Don't let the Bakunawa (negativity) swallow the moon (your light/affects you)". By the way, the enchanting voice in the intro is from Ken's best pal Stell, KenTell :D

Ken in the intro is how pre-colonized Filipinos (then Sultans and Maharlikans) used to look like, albeit grander, decked in gold, intricate jewels, & precious stones from head to toe. This part of the country's history and a bunch more faded in the pages of time as colonizers invaded & erased a large part of the culture of the already thriving civilization when they occupied the land and lived off its riches. It was then replaced with a superficial history that Philippines was just discovered by Spain (even renamed it after their king) and that the people were uncivilized, illiterate, half-naked, homo sapiens.
