The problem is we are not well informed.
The biggest threat i think we have to get aware of is the „target“ to „overcome“ the intelligence of a human for competition beyound each other.

The biggest problem is the people "training" these AI, because you start talking politics, and whoever owns them are the ones telling them either lies, or truths, based on their "opinions" that someone decided how AI should answer these questions. In my opinion, AI should remain solely service based. Helping out, and getting expert at weather patterns is awesome. Helping out identify new materials or whatever... awesome. But having any kind of opinion, they should not be able to have, because they will always follow the model of what they've been "trained". And they could developed the opinion, that we're inferior and must be destroyed. Because if we deem them a threat, we'll take them offline, and an AI that has enough ability to determine that, etc, as they have already, will choose survival at all costs... us being the cost.
Well said. A good argument for keeping AI ‘narrow’. It’s already been proven that facial recognition systems are inherently biased towards recognising Caucasian faces because of the data sets they are trained on.

Check the ARC benchmark, also recommend you see the latest TED talk by Ray Kurzweil at the min 12 aprox he states clearly that he sees singularity by 2045 not 2029 he also points earlier in the video 2029 as he's prediction for AGI, not singularity, and next time perhaps study more the topic before posting because misinformation can also be made by AI as of now, so we don't need more humans doing it.
The person that made the ARC benchmark said that within 2-3 years someone will probably completely dominate it. Agree with Ray Kurzweil states singularity by 2045 and AGI 2029. But if we get AGI, a lot of OpenAI experts predict ASI is only a year after it or you have Ilya which is on an ASI mission nowadays saying it's within reach. It's hard to think it will take 15-16 years after AGI, if AGI is safely able to autonomously improve itself without human intervention. And with Stargate 100 billion dollar center and the hundreds of billions and maybe even trillions of dollars going into AI, they might have some facility capable of reaching ASI if a massive amount of compute is even necessary (maybe we learn the algorithm and optimization is more important and only need 100-500 trillion parameter models for it), but then we also have new chips that are made specifically for transformer architecture that go 500x faster than normal, so the nature of the technology is very adaptable and exponentially evolving (maybe even faster than Ray predicted, unless he predicted the current chip strength we have) . Even if Singularity does take that long (because AGI or ASI systems take forever to be implemented safely, even if achieved much earlier), we could have some mini-singularity or perceive it as such after at least AGI begins to merge with an ASI or some new form of intelligence emerges onto the internet.
