Maybe put the clear bottom on a plate while exerting downward pressure. Lift when full, move sliced items to the side and resume slicing… Just a thought.
I agree. I have a hunch it was designed to do that intentionally, to prevent pressing down too hard and bending the blades. It pops out if you press too hard and "teaches" the user to apply lighter pressure and let gravity and the spinning blades do more of the work.
@@theYTnickname the blades are in the center of a circle and your hands would both be above it when that happened, so the risk to you is extremely minimal.

It's not the exact same model (though it looks similar), but in the TylerTube video that reviewed something like this, the motor was actually wired backwards. So in turn all the blades spun the wrong way and couldn't cut or chop anything.
I think if you keep the slicer down on the plate it would work ok. Maybe that is how they intended it to be used as it has the hole in the bottom so you can just lift up to empty it? Who knows.
@TheKevinPoole I think it's poorly made because there's no locking mechanism, apparently, where if you turn it to one direction or the other, it would lock in place so it doesn't fall off. Or maybe screw on and off.
Great video as always, Sir! Mom and I had something similar a few years back that DID have a locking mechanism. I think that's all this device needs. Just make like 2 slits in the plastic like most devices and have them click together. All in all this one surprised me. Mine worked pretty well I'd say for the few years we had it!
Like you said, it just needs a very simple locking mechanism. Really weird they missed that. The design over all doesn't look that bad. Works pretty well... When it works. Maybe there was an original version that did do it, and these are all cheaper copies?
I have a large food processor I've had for decades. About 10 years ago a friend gave me her mini chopper because it only has a two cup bowl, and it was too small for her family. (I think she received it as a gift.) I thought it was great because if you are only chopping up enough for one bowl of salsa, or an onion to go into something it beats cleaning up the big one. In a couple minutes your done and washing it up. Even the veggies for stuffing/dressing, salads, it's all done quickly. The big food processor has the different blades, grater, etcetera. If I'm only doing a little bit of cheese on something I still use the hand grater I got at the Dollar Tree, it fits into a disposable/reusable blue plastic box to gather the shreds into. I also have an immersion blender. So I don't see any need for something that might fall apart while using it. I have name brand products already, that I really love. Worse case scenario, I get a knife out and a cutting board. I don't think I'd let you pay me to take this product. Sorry. But thank you for the review, it was very interesting, and informative. 👵☮️🖖
I feel the slicer attatchment works better if you pressed it against the plate to stop it from falling off, then drop the contents out before it fills up too much.
Thanks for this in depth review (in English). I did buy one, but based on your video I searched until I found one where the guard and the bowl actually lock into place. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m planning to use it mainly for slicing green onions & celery etc so I’m hopeful it’ll be sufficient for that.
To those giving the "put it against the plate," suggestion (in regard to the first guard): I would like to see him try this, but I don't think it would fix the actual problem. Watching carefully, the problem is the food pushing the blade out, which is what causes the guard to fall off. Putting it on the plate would technically prevent the guard itself from falling off, but it wouldn't stop the blade from being pushed out
Sometimes (many times) items that try to do many things in one item are just a waste. I’ll stick with my small KitchenAid blender/chopper - plug it in and it works beautifully!!!!!!
This is one of your funniest videos ever. I don't know if I should love or hate the retro 70s green, but I know I loved how you really wanted it to succeed 🤣🤣
wow, I just got mine yesterday and if the bottom cups come flying off like in your video, by the way , other videos do not have this happening , then I'm taking it back to the store.. will test it out today .. otherwise .. got a good laugh at your carrot - strophe.. ! thanks !
I love how almost every problem with this gadget would be fixed with a couple of plastic bits to lock the stuff into place. It's amazing they let this go out to market, did nobody test this? What a way to sabotage your own product.
Im happy with my several in one blender, food processor, emersion blender device. It is bigger but not by a great lot and far more safe than this one you’ve shown. I use it quite a bit and clean up is easy
It seems that with a couple of small modifications, like having the bottom screw on so that it doesn't fall off, and a whisk that is actually properly balanced so that it spins correctly, it would be a much more useful gadget. Maybe they will bring out a 'new and improved' version eventually.
I have a regular mini chipper like just the bowl part and it’s one of my favorite kitchen items I chop nuts onions olives garlic anything that just needs a small amount it works so good I love it

Seems like the solution to stopping the slicer from falling out would to just add a few tabs that you twist into place in order to hold that clear plastic section in place.
I feel like this has a lot of downsides. For one, the size. If you need a food processor for a recipe, typically you'd need larger amounts of stuff. Also, the rechargeable battery is a huge down side. Because, you'll charge it, put it away, and it will have lost charge when you need it. Also, for these no name products, you have no clue how good the battery is, probably gonna wear out fast, and when it'd dead, this thing is land waste. Some things simply don't need a battery. Kitchens are designed with wall plugs for a reason.
I really hope people think twice before buying this. There are much better tools for these jobs. You can tell not much went into making this product. I seen Tyler tube review this and they sent him one with the motor going in reverse. This is not a good product and people will end up hurting themselves with this.
So apparently that model has had issues with the blades being installed backwards at the factory .. so it runs in reverse. If anyone has one that doesnt work, check your blades to make sure they spin in the right direction. You can flip them around if you remove the screws.
If you place the slicer snugly over a coffee cup, I’m sure the bottom cup won’t fall off, I’m fairly sure. Of course it’s an inexpensive little item and while there are better chopper/slicers, for prepping for up to 4 people, I think it’s not bad. And I’m sure the blades don’t lock to the top where the motor is because it’s a safety feature so the blades don’t accidentally start without the bottom cup in place.
It doesn’t seem to do anything beyond any tool you already own. If you have to slice up food to a size that fits in the device, what’s the gain? Now, you also have to clean the device and it’s cup. No value add IMHO.
I’d be interested to see a one year review on Might be decent right now, first day etc but how long is it going to last and how well is it going to hold up, blade sharpness and battery charge wise. Actually I wish you’d done a test on how long the charge lasted on it.
Add a lock to the bottom part and you've got a good product right there. Also wouldn't mind some safety features on it, since this is just begging for someone to stick their fingers in the spinning blade... in fact, I have a feeling I've seen a reviewer cut their finger on this machine, but can't remember who.
actually a nice looking product, I think I would find the brush attachment the most useful, Don't think I noticed but did James mention what charging cable that it had?
I bought a cheap, small Procter Silex food processor from walmert quit a while back and until recently (I moved and left it behind) it worked very well. it was a little bigger than that one and it sat on the table, so it stayed together. It did not have a whisk attachment or a brush, but it did all the rest of the things and I believe it was around $15.00.

I have been debating on getting one of those choppers. Im glad you did the review though I am still on the fence about buying one. I like that it works but not that the bowl kept flying off. I don't know why they wouldn't make it to where the bowl locked into place.
I had one of these and got rid of it. The thing was really dangerous. I realized that there are no safety features on it. When the power button is held down, it starts to spin whatever attachment is being used. The chopping blades can be connected and will spin without the plastic cup or funnel.

Instead of a plate you could just use a tall container like the ones that come with hand blenders. There usually ofa similar width and could potential rest the slicer on top to stop in coming out and have plenty of space for the veg to fall.

So I bought one of this but a different model that hold the accessories in place better And honestly it is really useful to help me clean stuff. Tho as its main use of blending stuff, it's way too small and underpowered
There should be a locking mechanism like a lot of appliances. Have, where if you turn something to the right word to the left, it locks in place. They should have thought of that when they made that chopper.
NGL, I'm probably gonna order this 😂 I know that's probably how you're supposed to do it but I wouldn't hold it above the plate like that, I would hold it against the plate in order to keep it from popping off.
I am not going to purchase this, but I think while using the slicer, you should rest the machine against a plate. as they have advised for the chopper. They have not made a system to lock the container or the blades. so if you hold the machine against a plate, then the plate will give it support and the blade will not fly away. It just a thought. Do give it a try. 🙂
If someone 3d printed a locking bottom section this would be grate. Wonder how the slicing would work with an Onion and garlic as those are my top two chopped items. You should work with a company that would make a legit version of this with some more safety included.
I bet the chopper was overfilled, should try the two big chunks of cheese separately either one at a time or both at once, and I bet it might work. Especially since the bigger carrot worked when stuck in after the others were chopped.
It looks like the biggest downside is that none of the attachments lock in place, which is unsafe.
Which could be solved by having the outer parts screw together. Simple solution.
I think you mean it's a spicy electric Beyblade spinner...
Mine lock -there is a slot on the cup and bowl and it clicks into place and locks

It has a lock, I bought it and it's great Rotating lock
Thanks for your video James 💛
I misread the title, the entire time I thought it said the thing was TERRIBLE. Lol.
NGL, I'm probably gonna order this 😂 I know that's probably how you're supposed to do it but I wouldn't hold it above the plate like that, I would hold it against the plate in order to keep it from popping off.
The slicing attachment is cool. Other than that, a cheap walmart tiny Walmart food processor is better.
Thanks to this video, I learned why electric mixers use two beaters, not one.
I thought it was gonna fly into the camera lol
It would have cost them, what, 50 cents to put a little twist locking nubbin onto the clear plastic collars.
Lol that was what I immediately thought
Well, those devices do lock so I don't know what happened with yours lol
If someone 3d printed a locking bottom section this would be grate. Wonder how the slicing would work with an Onion and garlic as those are my top two chopped items. You should work with a company that would make a legit version of this with some more safety included.
I bet the chopper was overfilled, should try the two big chunks of cheese separately either one at a time or both at once, and I bet it might work. Especially since the bigger carrot worked when stuck in after the others were chopped.
