I saw this in the theater and the audience cheered when Rey and Finn stole the Falcon. The chase through the spaceship graveyard really blew me away. It was the first time since Terminator 2 that I had seen a movie to truly rival it in visual effects. I also loved Rogue One and rate it just as highly as this film.
You gotta give that second TIE pilot credit, when he saw the Falcon dive into the wreckage at high speed, he had no problem at all going right in after it and keeping up.
I've always liked 3:15, how all the scavengers just immediately pick over the TIE wreckage like vultures. The thing's not even settled yet, the pilot's probably still alive, and they're _immediately_ scrapping the ship for parts lol
I love how the acting is actually pretty good, the set design is amazing, cinematography is beautiful, visual effects are outstanding, props are cool, the music went HARD, then there’s the writing team fucking everything up
It makes sense since the Millennium Falcon is a really old and outdated ship, even during the original trilogy the characters already called it junk lmao
That scene is epic, despite what people feel about the recent movie/s as a whole, the cinematography was great, seeing the falcon in all its glory, daylight, manoeuvres, the incessant scream of the tie fighters, even the click sounds when the falcon's weapon doesn't fire, took me right back to being a kid again, mouth agape, eyes akimbo, goosebumps and a beating heart
I agree completely. This scene hits pretty hard for all the right reasons. The sounds, the perfectly timed changes in the musical score, the falcon doing what the falcon does. Despite all other shortcomings in the film this scene was a masterpiece.
I remember when the movie first came out and I was in the theater, the whole room cheered when the old girl made her appearance on screen. That ship's really beloved.

The Falcon is a true classic and legend, and as we all know, Legends never die. They have plot armor. Bringing back the Falcon's pursuit theme really added to her glorious comeback. Shame this was probably one of the only good parts of the trilogy.
Might be my favorite scene in the sequels. On the production side it's fantastic but it's the little details that sell it. The little "I can do this" in the beginning and the constant bickering gets you that feeling that they're out of their element. All the times the Falcon bumps as Rey tries to get a hang of its controls. And how every lever and button she uses is done so dramatically compared to Han or Lando who always seemed in control even when stress was high. It's those little things that humanize and show some more of the character. The Falcon _is_ like a hot rod spaceship, so makes sense that can do whatever you ask it to but you really have to "know" it.
Jakkuu chase is the best scene in the film IMO and probably one of the best in the whole sequel trilogy. Great action, great sound editing, the acting is actually good despite being a little quippy. Did a great job showing what the falcon was still capable of. And even managed to utilise good character writing: Rey is rusty behind the wheel as a pilot (keeps hitting things) but as the scavenger she has the home advantage and knows the wreckages inside out. Fynn is the turncoat stromtrooper, and not only calls out tactics to stay low but doesnt hesitate in taking out his former comrades.
4:23 Kinda poetic. Both TIEs joined the graveyard to be scavenged, but this one joins its predecessors' twisted remains in a pile. Much like the Empire, the First Order had a great fighting force, but will end up the same way no matter what.
Th only thing I liked about the sequel trilogy is the vehicle combat and scenery. Seeing star fighters flying around in the atmosphere and closer to the ground is more interesting than vast space battles.

A lot of people hate on Rey knowing how to fly the Millennium Falcon just like that. But I actually like her reactions in the cockpit. You can tell she is having a hard time flying the spaceship. Pressing the buttons and levers, how hard it is to fly without a co-pilot, and my favorite is here, 3:01, where she makes a hard left to avoid the ship. I never got that feeling when Han or Lando flew the Falcon.
Those who hate that Rey does things they say she shouldn't be able to do are just biased, hypocritical morons - plain and simple, like most Star Wars fanchildren. They complain about bad writing, yet come out with nonsense that's even worse, even if their criticisms are valid. In the case of Rey, they only say that she shouldn't be able to do certain things because they haven't seen how she's been able to do it, except that not seeing something develop prior doesn't automatically rule it out as some impossibility. These idiots act like she's perfect and is unrealistically more powerful than anyone, even though she's clearly not, and expect things to be explained to them to where the films hold their hands like the pathetic children they are mentally.

At 4:15 you can clearly see the barrels of the ventral quad-laser, pointing straight down, perpendicular to the ship's axis. If the movie did nothing else right, at least it answered a question about the Millennium Falcon's cannons that has bothered me for years.

I love this girl, who has never left the planet is suddenly an ACE pilot in a ship she's never flown (Or any ship for that matter) You'd think that would be amazing enough until she suddenly has more power than any Jedi 40min into the movie.. Took Luke 1.5 films just to wiggle a light saber. Politics aside.. When everything comes easy, when there's nothing at stake, the audience fails to care.. As I did. It has to be EARNED for it to mean something. The effects were great, but not enough. They cheapened the force and made it easy. They turned piloting a starship into something anyone can do if they read the back of a cereal box. Good grief.
