This was...and still is my favorite period of Clapton's playing 94-96 blues tour...he was on 🔥 he was playing Gibson's again! I fell in love with that Cherry 335
Yeah, for the life of me I can't understand how he can go back to those shitbox strats he insists on playing. I'll never forget the disappointment I felt when he came onstage at the Cream Reunion brandishing that pus-bucket strat, instead of his ES-335.
What a gift this man and his wonderful music is to music lovers the world over. I have the pleasure of been a fan for well over 30 years ,this man gives me chills everytime he sings and plays. He never lost it.💖
страт -- классная гитара...с обширными звуковыми характеристиками...и гриф другой.... но лично я фанат гибсона...а конкретно -- и эс 335! лонг лив рок*н*ролл...бро!🤣
Best multi talented player everrrr!! Who can play with that much feeling and soul with so many different sounds over so many different types of music? No one case closed. BB King said once Eric is the best.
@@mikemcguinness1304 That's funny cause I don't hear anyone able to ever touch or sound anything like his playing. Tons recreate and sound exactly like Hendrix, but nobody tries to recreate Clapton cause they can't. Sounds nothing like him when they do and everyone fuc**** knows it. Everyone says they can do it but still waiting to hear anyone actually do it. Anyone can make rumbling junk that has no soul or feeling to it. Where's your dude with an orchestrated band? That's the separation dude. The all around. Fast playing don't mean shit. The two best ever multi dimensional are Clapton and Campbell.
How can Clapton not hear how much better the tone is on that guitar over his Strats?? Almost like self sabotage to use a guitar that clearly has a subpar tone.
This is one of the best clips that illustrates Claptons true ability with the guitar. Looks like he picked up a few skills from hanging around Knopfler too. I reckon the 335 sounds a lot better that the Stratocaster IMHO.
@robcockayne not saying Clapton was out played, just saying that he showed True Class, Courtesy when he looked at Rob, did a slight bow , stepped back and left Rob in front to do his thing. To emphasize it more clearly; like the day one of your parents was driving the car, looked at you and said, Ok, you drive the car. He'll yes, I want to drive and you took over the wheel. That's what I meant 👍
The horns make this version. There is a similar vibe to Howlin Wolf’s London Session album except they were added during production. Live is so much better.

Eric Clapton, blues, finger pickin, 335. That"s the way it should be.
Man he should play 335's all the time..such an earthy tone.
He no longer owns his guitars. He sold it on auction many years ago... 😔
Anything but his squawked out Strats. Last time I looked up the word Gibson - there was a picture of EC there.
@@SlowRide723 Pass!

Wonderful sound !
Thanks for posting this. I can't get enough Clapton playing his 335.
That 335 sounds ferocious. Eric sounds so good on a Gibson.
How can this be already 25 years ago 😱
Clapton + Gibson = ❤

The best Eric I've seen (heard), especially that twang at the end of the lick
Eric is in full blown Freddie King mode on this one....why he spends so much time on Strats I'll never know...

Clapton + ES 335 = Clapton is God.
He is so FUCKING smooth. Unreal.

Who can play like that ? Loafs of people , he's not doing anything difficult. Try listening the al de meola

@@mikemcguinness1304 You're not THE Mike McGuiness are you? Master guitar player that Eric Clapton once said he could only dream of playing like?
I've been playing for 30 years you knobhead .
That 335 sounds sooooo god damn good!
Nice playing!
And here we have the shinest star shine with 335, best period for the man and the blues for me
such a departure from his tone w a stratocaster
Much better with the Gibson..
Sounds so much better than the Strats.... Sorry Fender... Gibson humbuckers and P-90's rule!
Brian Dietrich The only fender I want to see on stage is a nice hand wired amp.
EC's a master of the Blues and always has been, such mastery and delivery.....too good.
You don't often see Eric playing finger style...wonder if the roadie just forgot to bring picks...LOL:)
forever the bluesman at heart
Clapton + Gibson guitar + Fender Amp + Blues = 👌🎸
the best gibson guitar!
Never understood his transition to Strats. 335 blows any Fender away
My God that 335 sound 😍😍
Best versión this song Elvis Presley the King of music forever
Greatest ever
very nice.
Back in the day when that programme was worth watching
So good
Never saw EC play with his fingers (without a pick) before. Didn't even know he could!
Matt Dennison Probably trying out the Freddie King thing. He was a big influence on his Eric
Of course he can.. Clapton is God remember..
He's forgotten more than the rest have ever learned
Is that his 64'crossroads 335!!???? That was sold at Christy,s for $800.000 !!
Yes it is. He sold it in 04
Wow...words are never enough.
Agree. Eric please play a Gibson ES-335 more and more!!!!!
Slick as a slippery brick balanced adroitly on Cloud #9
Hey Eric ,is that the same 335 you used on the Rolling Stones rock n roll circus ,when you played with the Dirty Mac?
Yes

Not mine , but peace bro
He is the MAN!
Elegancia, buen gusto, Clapton en estado puro.
Is this the cream royal Albert hall 335??
yes
Damn that's hot!
I'm a Fender guy -Strats, Teles... I like the tone, the weight, the feel of the neck. But Clapton with that cherry 335 might very well be... god.
Larry Carlton embraced it, lol,,,I know but good, is good and amazing is Amazing,.. they both Are
Sir Eric Clapton so graciously took 2nd stage and let his friend take front stage, such a Classic Guy he is and , his friend did not let him down.
When? Not on this track, that's for sure.

@@WEFAT13YQUE Are we watching the same video? "stepped back and left Rob in front..." Not on this number.
Eric 💞💞🎸🎸💖💖
I see where John Mayer's - Come When I Call came from now
Found it
the horns need to play less or be mixed lower, very distracting arrangement. clapton sounds great as always
The horns make this version. There is a similar vibe to Howlin Wolf’s London Session album except they were added during production. Live is so much better.
I think the horns were a great tribute to the original song writer Lowell Fulson!
he plays with his fingers the solo !!!!!
The 335 sounds so much better than his Stats!
Notice Block not Dot neck ? Just goes to show you all the dot hype is B.S. Depends on the person.
Especially if the person is EC.
It's a '64 and therefore has the small block inlays. The earlier dot versions command more money.
And seated the great underrated Andy Fairweather Low.
😍335😍
best version
Till you hear somebody else do it.
Oh the 335 tone… 🤦♀️
any Gibson twin bucker sounds like that in his hands.
Why, oh why, does Clapton ever play a strat?
Great. Fingers noted. No pick.
If I read another comment on how Clapton was much better with Gibsons I'll throw up....
Clapton was much better with Gibsons....
Eric was sooo much better with Gibsons.
Finger picks it to Nirvana. Gawd.
Love it...but cant be Elvis Presley version
Clapton + Gibson is the true Clapton. Never liked his fender tone and not a huge fan of fender guitars. Fender amps my favorite of all though.
Markonefifteen I loved him with the sg! Sounded so sweet.
To play guitar, even the Eric Clapton's manager knows that i exist, but i'm french and i mean not english.
E.C + 335
annnnd.... none of the other musicians were even necessary.
when the guitar smokes marijuana it sounds like that
Groso
Sorry but when I hear the sound Stevie Ray pulled out of a Stratocaster I will disagree .
Turn down metal
