Re: Dos Orugitas... No matter how distasteful you may find the grandmother's behaviour, that look on her face that young her has when her husband is taken from her is one of the purest expressions of grief Disney has ever put on screen.
It was, in a weird hidden way, the real villain song of the movie. It sets up Abuela's origins and motivation for the entire movie (and her life) and the reason why she messes things up mistaking the importance of her home vs her family; and it puts her into a completely sympathetic light.
"We Don't Talk About Bruno" should totally win him the Oscar. The entire score is good, but that particular song is excellent, as it weaves in backstory and characterization for almost the entire cast. And where I do have nitpicks on particular lines in some of the other songs, "Bruno" is perfect.
"All of you" always makes me cry. It's just so beautiful. It doesn't matter, when I watch the movie or just listen to the song, by the sentence, "We made this one for you." I always tear up.

I haven’t stopped listening to We Don’t Talk About Bruno and Surface Pressure since I saw the movie. I don’t know what other songs are anymore. Those two are everything!
Dos Oruguitas in Sebastián Yatra's voice always brings tears to my eyes. As a Colombian who had to leave my country at one point in my life due to violent groups harassing my family, that song sounds too close to my own life.
"...writing along the lines of Joan Manuel Serrat and Antonio Carlos Jobim." Omg yes! That's why I love the style of Dos Oruguitas so much! Such a gorgeous song. Jobim's work was (and is) absolutely legendary and I'm so happy that Miranda took inspiration from him. Sr. Serrat I'm not familiar with, but if they're comparing him to Sr. Jobim he must also be amazing.
I'm from Belgium and this movie introduced me to the heart of Colombia (or at least that's how it appears to me). There might be less colourful things going on in the country, but I feel like the brave, colourful, singing and dancing hearts of the people are overshadowed by this way to often! 🙏❤️
I'm finally glad that Disney is taking time to spotlight countries and cultures like Colombia (Encanto) or the Philippines 🇵🇭 (Raya) I want to see something based in the Caribbean, Central Asia or Sub Saharan Africa next.
As a Colombian who's family has been affected multiple times by the violence, dos oruguitas makes me cry everytime. I feel honored by this movie. And I'm so thankful for that song
Not to seem like a clueless person. But who was attacking them in the beginning and was that a sword I saw that it looked like that killed the abuelo. Who were those monsters?
@@thesilverblader6714 Those who attacked them are forces and/or supporters of either the Conservative or Liberal Parties of Colombia during the Thousand Days' War. The reason the forces/supporters attacked Alma's village is because the supporters of the Liberal/Conservative Parties attacked the supporters of the opposing party.
"We Don't Talk About Bruno" is hands-down the best song among so many great songs from this film. The beat, the pacing, the melodies... all of it just sticks with you for days and days... and I love it! My second favorite song is "Dos Oruguitas," followed by "What Else Can I Do."
I absolutely love We Don’t Talk About Bruno. I noticed my second time watching it that when they’re preparing for dinner and all of them are singing, they’re in the same room that Bruno’s makeshift room is adjacent to and you know that he’s thinking “guys I’m right here…” Also he’s in the background of Dolores’ first part of that song vibing. It’s actually the funniest thing.
Don't get me wrong. I love "We don't talk about Bruno" but "Surface Pressure" is my favorite cause it just feels so relatable as being an older sibling
Yes!!. I'm a parentified oldest sister and surface pressure broke me completely. When she says, "I'm pretty sure I'm worthless if I can't be of surface" i lost it. I've had that song on repeat for over a week now. It just has me ugly sobbing.
The house is her gift just like it was abuela's it's why it faded into the wall. Casita was hers and it reflected her feelings. She always pretended to be ok but she was breaking inside. So was Casita. That's why Bruno was in the walls patching all her cracks inside. It's not until she says she's not fine did the cracks show on the outside. It wasn't until she opened the front door did it glow and Casita took her inside with no words after waving to her just like abuela in the beginning and no one could come inside until mirabel invited them in. Abuela's house had to be destroyed to make way for the new Mirabel house.
i like to think that Mirabel was the new candle, because she shares a very close bond with the house (as the candle was what made the house). and when the old Casita was destroyed, she was the one to rebuild and give it new life. perhaps the old candle ran out because it was already time to switch generations, as it has been running on for 50 years. or because Mirabel snapped during Mariano's proposal and the house reacts to it.
i agree with agathaplayziez, but i also wanna add that abuela's power was not exactly the casita. she only made half of the casita, with help from pedro. i believe that his sacrifice, and her grief and prayer brought their town to life, so they only made half of the house together, while mirabel got the whole town together to build it. she brings everyone together. another detail is that every family clearly has their own colors, Pepa's family is yellow, Bruno is green, Abuela is pink, and Julieta's is blue, but mirabel's dress has the colors of every one of them. also, isabela's dress goes from pink to dark blue, showing that shes ready to break out of the mold abuela has made for her and that shes bonding with the rest of her family
Surface Pressure really resonated with me the most, as an oldest sibling who did end up having to carry a lot of metaphorical weight that wasn't placed on my younger sibs' shoulders. At 43 I still haven't shaken off the feeling that if I can't be useful to the family I'm not worth anything.
Dude that song really made me cry and hit right at home...the part that really made me(oldest sister) and my two other (younger)sisters waterfall cry was right at the part(my two sisters also hugged me in the theater) where after floating in the clouds, they suddenly fall back to Earth and all the stones, the house are being held by luisa and she's struggling to hold the weight up(rep.me), and Maribel's face of concern when the weight is about to crush Luisa?...really made my youngest sister appreciate everything I've done and sacrificed for her, it made her realize why I'm stressed, tired and depressed most times..but my youngest sister now knows I'm harsh and tough not because I want to, but because I need to be to protect them despite my own well being...."give it to your sister and never Wonder, if the same pressure would've pulled you under, who am I if I don't have what it takes, No cracks no breaks NO MISTAKES no pressure"... 😭❤️
Guess there always is the "one" who is given or taking on more on his or her shoulders for the family. Be the rock - well guys rocks wear down over time too with every new wave crushing on the surface. Really it can be anybody in the family of course, but I do get the feeling that it may be we, the older sibs, who find it resonating with us more often than not. Loved every piece of glorious music though - but Surface Pressure hit home for me.
I relate to it very differently from the way it seems like a lot of people do. Ever since I was little, I've been the supporting character to my family's problems; I push my brother to go out of his comfort zone and help him deal with his anxiety, I stand there and take it when my mom's husband emotionally abuses me because I know if he doesn't do it to me he'll do it to my mother, and I call my mom on her shit when she gaslights herself into believing things that aren't true. Then, when I decide I want to go to college, I'm told that I will receive no help, and whenever I am forced to come home during breaks and such, I'm still treated like a punching bag. But I've learned, at this point, that there's nothing I can do. I will never be able to change them, and maybe once I'm not there to take the brunt of everything, once my mother is finally forced to open her eyes, things will change. I've realized that my existence in my own family is the barrier that has stopped my family from being able to grow because I've been carrying all of their problems on my shoulders instead of them. Unfortunately, I had to cut them off, but I have also never been happier in my life. I've never felt more like *me* in my life. And to be honest? I don't think I want to go back, ever.
God but the little things Lin does to tell stories through music. As the a younger sibling in a huge Hispanic family, I related to Waiting on a Miracle a lot. And that little detail of being written in 3/4ths time. Seriously, the whole soundtrack is 🔥.
When I first heard it I literally thought it was a song Disney hadn't made, like it was a cool folk song they added it. I just learned they made it TODAY. like DAMN that's great execution
This movie was one of if not the best Disney movie I've ever seen. First of all, the animation quality was spectacular. Everything was so realistic and detailed yet so Disney-like at the same time. I felt like I was in the movie. Second, the cast for this movie is amazing. Their voices match the diverse personalities of their characters and their singing voices are great. Third, Lin Manuel Miranda did a terrific job with the songs in the movie. I loved every song and some of them, especially "We Don't Talk About Bruno" gave me chills because of how good it was written. 🥰🥰🥰
i agree encanto stands out so much without having to rely so much on old formulas like a villain, a prince who ends up saving the day. Encanto became my favourite disney movie 💃🏽
Ditto. It's one of my favourite modern Disney animated movies, next to "Coco", in that they both deal with similar themes of family traumas, and finding your place.
@@trinaq umm coco is pixar not disney; and encanto is without a doubt 100% way better than coco when it comes to the music, culture, animation and story. I also find kinda racist the fact that just because they’re both based on hispanic cultures people are calling them similar, they don’t share a single thing in common and also remind me what family trauma there is in coco?? as far as i know there’s a villain who took advantage of a family, the family’s problems and issues generate due to that person not the family itself.
Right? It's so simple but so deep and some characters people can connect to so easily because of their own life experiences. Same with the songs. Possibly the best Disney movie since Lion King (the animated one, not that 2019 wannabe)
@@itsokandres ok so 1. Disney owns Pixar and 2. I believe the trauma had to do with Miguel's great great grandfather Hector leaving the family for his career, which in turn made hector's wife raise coco on her own without music and the following generations (Miguel's grandma and her child/children) were raised without it as well. They were also all raised without ever knowing that Hector tried to come back but he died before he could get back home because his partner Ernesto (the villain) poisoned him.
"Dolores' verse makes it sound like they're sneaking past a sleeping beast" *Bruno is literally sneaking/dancing on the balcony behind them in that verse*
@@procrastinating_author But Bruno's eyes only shine green like that when he uses his ability and Camilo's eyes shine green when he shapeshifts to Bruno
what else can i do hella underrated, it has so much meaning, is crucial to the plot, and has such a beautiful melody with lots of variation and musical elements
Fun fact: During Dolores' number from "We Don't Talk About Bruno", if you look in the background, you can see Bruno walking around. Plus, at the end of her part, he bobs his head in time with the music.
That was camilo because Brunos eyes are only green if he is seeing the future but in camilos part his eyes are green when he shape shifts and if you look on the ground near the beginning you will see Bruno btw I know I did there names wrong
I love it because her part was talking about how she feared/sympathized with him and about how she heard him/understood that his gift was hard to bear. So of course he'd vibe with it
Encanto is a brilliant movie all around!!! I love the story AND all of the songs!!! But my personal favorite is Waiting on a Miracle. I really hope there will be more Encanto movies to come! ❤💙❤️
There isn’t a song I don’t love from this movie. Even the ones I don’t understand because I don’t speak the language. But, I’d expect nothing but perfection from Lin-Manuel Miranda.
The "Surface Pressure" song was not only the best music of this animation, but the best music of any animation I ever saw. Not just because the tone and the music, but because of the deep lyrics...
Yes! We dont talk about Bruno is just catchy, dont get me wrong, I do love the music, but surface pressure has a great beat, is somewhat catchy and has a great deeper meaning
admit it, the one reason we all love "we don't talk about Bruno" is because of Camilo's part XD "7 foot frame, rats all on his back. When he calls your name, it all fades to black. yeah, he sees your dreams, and feasts on your screams"
Dos Oruguitas reminded me of the opening sequence from Up, but I feel like this one carries even more weight and emotion, especially because it plays at the end of the movie ❤️
Dos Orugitas is so beautiful; it makes me cry every time I hear it and it makes my heart ache. It’s just so beautiful and I feel as if it deserves more recognition due to the emotion and depth that’s inside of it
i really like 'Waiting on a Miracle' the part mira from miracle, makes me think that mirabell was a miracle. At the end Abuela even says "I asked my Pedro for help, he sent me you!"
I remember being in the theater crying when I watched the Dos Oruguitas part. We had heard about what happened to Alma and Pedro in the beginning but actually seeing it and along with the song, it just felt heartbreaking.
During the credits scene, at the end of the movie, Luisa is shown holding the weight of the world in her shoulders, but with a few more people instead. That tiny detail made me smile for days. You don't always have to be strong. Is ok and normal to not to be perfect.
I have the exact same opinion, I relate to what else can I do and surface pressure so much. Bruno is a banger, but it's missing that emotional core for me.
My list is: 1. What Else Can I Do (it makes me sad that everyone puts this song on the bottom of their list. The first time I heard this song I instinctly fell in love withit. It reminds me of Let it Go, another song I love). 2. We Don’t Talk about Bruno 3. Surface Pressure 4. Waiting on Miracle 5. The Family Madrigal 6. Dos Oruguitas 7. All of You 8. Colombia, Mi Encanto
Agreed. It’s in my top three along with Dos Oruguitas and We Don’t Talk About Bruno. Surface Pressure is drastically overrated… it’s not better than Waiting on a Miracle or What Else Can I Do
Switch We Don’t Talk about Bruno and Surface Pressure the other way around and that would be my list, it’s a shame seeing What Else Can I Do in the bottom of people’s list
“All Of You” was my personal favourite, the type of beat being my type of music, the tone of the characters is one i love, and the music was generally just amazing, and even the meaning in the lyrics is just hits hard! (same with surface pressure)
I wasn't expecting much with this movie, but once I heard the song "Surface Pressure" I was hooked. My husband and I have been humming the songs for days. Lin-Manuel Miranda knocked it out of the park in my opinion.
All of them are great, I love “we don’t talk about Bruno” it’s super catchy and the mix of rhythms is phenomenal but “Dos Orugitas” it’s beautifully written and it has a beautiful message about love, moving on and accepting the changes that come with life.
I agree Dos Orugitas is a great song I’m glad someone mentioned it here and don’t get me wrong, I like we don’t talk about Bruno but I feel like Dos Orugitas deserves more recognition as well
Everybody is talking about "We don't talk about Bruno" which is an amazing song but "Dos orugitas" is also a masterpiece not only because of its lyrics but also because of what this song represents in relation to the conflict and violence that has been part not only of Colombia's history, but also of Latin America history. This song deserves an Oscar.
@@julioagua it’s been theorized that this movie is set in rural Columbia after the civil war. They reference the violence that ensued in Dos Oruguitas, which also caused many to be displaced.
Surface Pressure speaks to me. I always feel like I have to be the one who fixes things, the one who makes the peace. I know Isabelle is supposed to be the eldest sister, but I think Luisa has the mindset of an eldest child.
The first time I heard this song I cried a lot. I felt it so deep in my heart. It took me like 3 or 4 replays for me to finally listen to it without tears.
Maybe the sisters' songs can be intertwined, as it takes a lot of strength to be 'perfect' and Louisa can do more than just being a weightlifting machine. But I totally agree that Louisa feels like the elder child 🌸💪
A "Luisa" in my family, I can say it's made for middle child TT that line "crushing weight of expectations" is so relatable cause we can't never be perfect as the first child... Like in movie Isabela received all praises doing despite not doing the "dirty job" but no one ever talks about Luisa helping the whole town with their problems... we are just overshadowed by our “isabela”
Loved what they did with Dos Oruguitas. In the scene we realize Abuela is displaced out of her home like many other Colombians in some parts of our country have been due to something we call The Violence. It was heartbreaking for me as a Colombian to watch and loved Yatra's voice. That was my favorite song!
I feel like “Waiting on a miracle” and “What else can I do?” are underrated. I personally don’t have a favorite cause I love them ALL, but “Waiting on a miracle” and “Surface pressure” hit me the hardest! 😢
Tremendous props to Lin Manuel. I ALREADY had incredibly high respect for him, but his contribution to this GORGEOUS masterpiece made my respect for him an endless river
I broke since the part when Bruno said "you're the real gift kid, let is in" and Alma finally saying "Open your eyes, what do you see..." In contrast to Mirabelle's "Open your eyes" in Waiting on a Miracle song.
gotta admit, i watched the movie for the first time last friday and the song We Don't Talk About Bruno got stuck with me ever since, singing it everyday
"We dont talk about Bruno" is so so good and fitting, yet, I really think "Surface Pressure" is very very underrated and deserves more love. It has beautiful vocals, the song is so melodic itself, it is full of hidden moral, and its a mind-blowing moral which isnt made for children only like "believe in love and you will be fine". It tells about the pressure given to ones that everyine are counting on. So cool
I have to say I love how the animation in “What Else Can I Do” is actually supposed to be a metaphor for Isabella’s emotions in the song. Especially in her room where everything is vibrant and nothing is perfectly colored in the background which would be the opposite of who the perfect version of Isabela is. And this just adds to the song’s meaning because it’s a call for an escape from that expectation of perfectionism. That’s why I think her song is better than Luisa’s call for an escape of expectations. It might have cost millions to animate but it just blends so well with the song.
Louisa's song was also more frequently visually intermingled with humor; while you get some silly stuff here and there from Mirabel (which my kid loves), the damn donkeys kind of kill it. 🤣
seven foot frame rats along his back when he calls your name it all fades to black he sees your dreams and feasts on your screams we dont talk about brunononono we dont talk about bruno.
absolutely most likely under surface pressure but no where too much lower (this is coming from me at the beginning of the beginning of the video-) ok now that i know where surface pressure is i think surface pressure should be a bit bigger and what else can i do comes right behind it since those songs are more personal and relatable but we don’t talk about bruno should definitely be 1 in my opinion but that’s just me-
There is only 8 songs and they are all bangers though. Naturally some people will have their favorites. The only thing we can all agree on is We Dont Talk About Bruno is top 3.
This list is surprisingly accurate to my taste. I'd change a few things though: 8. Colombia, Mi Encanto 7. The Family Madrigal 6. All of you 5. What Else Can I Do 4. Waiting on a Miracle 3. Surface Pressure 2. We Don't Talk About Bruno 1. Dos Oruguitas (The last two are very close)
Dos orugitas is so pure and a true masterpiece. It is so sad and the lyrics of it is so good. Im glad that someone choose it as their number 1 aside from me.
My list: 7. The family Madrigal 6. What else Can I Do (In spanish is "Inspiración" and it's much better, because the jacarandas sounds GOD/GOOD) 5. All of you 4. Colombia, Mi Encanto 3. Waiting on a Miracle 2. We don't talk about Bruno 1. Two Oruguitas
i like 1: We Dont Talk About Bruno 2: Dos Oruguitas 3: Surface Pressure 4: The Family Madrigal 5: All Of You 6: What else can I do 7: Waiting for a miracle 8: Colombia , mi encanto
@@number16kelbax If you watch closely in this scene, you can actually spot Bruno sneaking around! First from right to left on the ground level and than from left to right on the balcony. With the ending of the verse he is vibing with his stereotypical green eyes!
My favorite part about “we don’t talk about Bruno” is actually eluding to the mental state of Isabella. While also showing how her and miracle are more alike than it seems. I know that the majority of y’all are confused, but listen to her singing in the dark scene. She constantly sings “I’m fine” while hides her face through dancing. Which is similar to miracle song, which uses the line “ and I’m fine, I’m totally fine”.
Why is no one talking about Dos Oruguitas! Is the best song!! Always makes me cry that Abuela was like a caterpillar who lost her most important love, that is so sad. And I don’t know you but I have felt the lost and the separation so deep as abuela. It’s so sad
“We Don’t Talk About Bruno” and “Surface Pressure” are my favorites because of the terrific beats, lyrics and visuals. I can’t help but move to these songs.😊💖
I agree. The first time I saw the strong sister and thought she would be some typical muscular boring animation character, but in fact, her MV is one of the best! And those dancing donkeys in her fantasy make her look like she is on drug or something. (She must have a lot of pressure to make her have those images) It's interesting to listen to "surface Pressure" in other languages just to hear deep voices from other countries.
We do speak of fantastic lyrics and emotional rhythm, Two Caterpillars deserve that position, and it is much better than English, Sebastián Yatra has a beautiful voice
"What Else Can I Do?" should be higher in my opinion. Aside from its catchy melody, I also believe that the lyrics nailed it. I actually loved the song the first time I heard it from the movie. XD
Dos orugitas should be number one, while I love we don't talk about bruno, dos orugitas has so much emotion behind it and the lyrics are stuck in my head
My ranking is: 1: What Else Can I Do? 2: Waiting on a Miracle 3: We Don’t Talk About Bruno 4: Surface Pressure 5: The Family Madrigal 6: Two Oruguitas 7: All Of You 8: Columbia Mi Encanto
“What else can I do” I feel is less about limiting yourself to only perfection, and more focused on Isabelas conflict that she is living someone else’s perfect life. She is forced to be her abuelas version of perfect instead of being the person she wants to be.
My list of the encanto song 1. We don't talk about bruno 2. What else can I do 3. Surface pressure 4. All of you 5. Dos origitas 6. Famliy madrigal 7. Waiting on A miracle 8. Colombia mi encanto
Dos Oruguitas made me cry and made my emotions flow. I can't explain why but just the thought of loving someone and caring for others even if it mean losing your life in the process hits hard. I love the song and I wish more people understood the feeling
“Waiting for a Miracle” is an incredible song. “I’ve been patient, and steadfast, and steady!” Are some of the most relatable lyrics to anyone feeling stuck in their life. Definitely deserves more love than it got.
Waiting on a miracle is so underrated. Mirabel just wanted to be as special as her family but she always felt like the outcast. In this song, she just wanted to get the message across that she just wants a gift.
they’re not different songs, their individual verses bridged together with “we don’t talk about bruno-no-no-no” it is really impressive how they all fit together tho
*MY FAVORITES:* 1. We Don't Talk About Bruno 2. The Family Madrigal 3. What Else Can I Do? 4. Waiting On a Miracle 5. All of You 6. Surface Pressure 7. Dos Oruguitas 8. Colombia, Mi Encanto
Just a little something, but when Mirabel repeats the line "Open your eyes" in Waiting on a Miracle, Abuela actually does have her eyes open in the scene. The only thing is, she only looks past Mirabel, which reflects how she doesn't acknowledge Mirabel in reality. Not groundbreaking and some people may have noticed that, but I thought it was interesting.
Nah this video got it right… Dos Oruguitas and We Don’t Talk About Bruno are the top two from the film. Surface Pressure is def not better than Dos Oruguitas lol…What Else Can I Do should be higher than this list has it though
@@Laney.R00 X2, Two caterpillars is too sentimental and it was the only one that made me cry for all that sentimental load, and I think that all Latin Americans feel that since in Spanish it is much better
Totally agreed. Already if I ever have to chose in point of catchiness then I'll chose We don't talk about Bruno but if talking about lyrics that could stand even outside of movie with relatability then for sure Surface Pressure is best. That's why it's a tie between these two for me. Other than that Dos Orogitus, What else can I do and Waiting on a Miracle hits on spot as well.
Im going to be honest, when i first saw “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” on RUclips (haven’t watched movie yet), i thought Bruno’s gift was that everything he says came true because of the part the locals said, especially the “i grew a gut” guy.
i always thought it was a plot about a misunderstood green guy who can see the future, nothing else hes just some accidental supervillain and they try to kill him or something
I'd have to rank the songs on how much emotion I felt when listening to them. I totally agree that We Don't Talk About Bruno is an awesome song and deserves all of the accolades that it has received but I think Dos Oruguitas probably hit me hardest. At the end of the day though, I could never rank these songs because all of them are so great. Thank you Lin-Manuel Miranda.

It was, in a weird hidden way, the real villain song of the movie. It sets up Abuela's origins and motivation for the entire movie (and her life) and the reason why she messes things up mistaking the importance of her home vs her family; and it puts her into a completely sympathetic light.
Lin Manuel did an excellent job with those songs which is why there's not a single bad song for me. This movie is TOTALLY gonna give him an Oscar!

The songs were average for Disney, not amazing.
"We Don't Talk About Bruno" should totally win him the Oscar. The entire score is good, but that particular song is excellent, as it weaves in backstory and characterization for almost the entire cast. And where I do have nitpicks on particular lines in some of the other songs, "Bruno" is perfect.

Sr. Serrat I'm not familiar with, but if they're comparing him to Sr. Jobim he must also be amazing.
The whole soundtrack is a masterpiece. I'm so happy that my country Colombia got to be represented in a Disney movie.
I'm from Belgium and this movie introduced me to the heart of Colombia (or at least that's how it appears to me). There might be less colourful things going on in the country, but I feel like the brave, colourful, singing and dancing hearts of the people are overshadowed by this way to often! 🙏❤️

As a Colombian who's family has been affected multiple times by the violence, dos oruguitas makes me cry everytime. I feel honored by this movie. And I'm so thankful for that song
Not Colombian but my family is from Central America and I really enjoyed the representation
Beautiful song, can feel the emotion
I noticed my second time watching it that when they’re preparing for dinner and all of them are singing, they’re in the same room that Bruno’s makeshift room is adjacent to and you know that he’s thinking “guys I’m right here…”
Also he’s in the background of Dolores’ first part of that song vibing. It’s actually the funniest thing.
For me, I really adored ‘What Else can I do”, it was the show stopper for me!
those songs in that order is exactly what my top 3 favourite songs are!
I totally agree with you this is exactly my top favorite three songs

“You can try not talking about Bruno, but you’ll never get him out of your head.”
So true!
I hope Lin finally wins the Oscar he deserves.
A little too hard this year, but one day I hope he will :)
Don't get me wrong. I love "We don't talk about Bruno" but "Surface Pressure" is my favorite cause it just feels so relatable as being an older sibling
I agree
Yes!!. I'm a parentified oldest sister and surface pressure broke me completely. When she says, "I'm pretty sure I'm worthless if I can't be of surface" i lost it. I've had that song on repeat for over a week now. It just has me ugly sobbing.
very much same
agreed
Although I relate to it, I'd still personally pick we don't talk about Bruno
I love how during Surface pressure, Luisa is just constantly taking care of Mirabel 😭
Dos oruguitas.. we don't understand the lyrics but still can feel this song.. hope win best original song in Oscar!! 🤞

Oldest of four her. This song was so triggering, but so needed and therapeutic as well. I felt seen and understood.
31 and I feel the same.

Same here, but the song i related to the most was "What else can i do?"
I LOVE "we don't talk about Bruno" and I can't listen to the song without breaking the replay button.
Lin Manuel Miranda really achieved his goal of making Dos Oruguitas sound timeless and like it always existed.
it's the first song he's written entirely in Spanish
Everytime I listen to it I start crying 😢😭

👏
Louisa's song was also more frequently visually intermingled with humor; while you get some silly stuff here and there from Mirabel (which my kid loves), the damn donkeys kind of kill it. 🤣

Which is similar to miracle song, which uses the line “ and I’m fine, I’m totally fine”.
My favorite musical part is when they are putting all the plates on the table
I just love the final choruses where everyone's verses are mixed perfectly just putting in their personality
I tip my hat to the composer
Why is no one talking about Dos Oruguitas! Is the best song!! Always makes me cry that Abuela was like a caterpillar who lost her most important love, that is so sad. And I don’t know you but I have felt the lost and the separation so deep as abuela. It’s so sad
I totally agree that “We don’t talk about Bruno” should be first it’s just to awesome to be in any other place in the rankings.
I’m hoping that’s the song that gets Oscar Nominated if Encanto gets to be nominated at all.
@@jilliantavares8249unfortunately the only song that they submitted for nomination from the movie is Dos Orugitas...which absolutely deserves to win
Plus it's awesome even without context
@@kristenjackson4503 we don"t talk abut bruno has been number 1 on trendding for weeks now they have to submit it soon right
IMO, Surface Pressure is far superior
@Skylar Carey me too
yeah agreed and u also think dos oruguitas should be no. 1
Thank you
I agree with you because its actually a great song
My ranking is:
1: What Else Can I Do?
2: Waiting on a Miracle
3: We Don’t Talk About Bruno
4: Surface Pressure
5: The Family Madrigal
6: Two Oruguitas
7: All Of You
8: Columbia Mi Encanto
I totally agree with What else can I do being number one! I absolutely adore that song!
This would probably be Disney's most relatable movie yet.
Especially in Luisas song
@@p1nkPallas YES!
I watched the movie with some friends who have mental illness and one of them just kept saying relatable content the entire time
“What else can I do” I feel is less about limiting yourself to only perfection, and more focused on Isabelas conflict that she is living someone else’s perfect life. She is forced to be her abuelas version of perfect instead of being the person she wants to be.
My list of the encanto song
1. We don't talk about bruno
2. What else can I do
3. Surface pressure
4. All of you
5. Dos origitas
6. Famliy madrigal
7. Waiting on A miracle
In this song, she just wanted to get the message across that she just wants a gift.
what else should I do is a banger
Its my fav of all of the songs in Encanto!
I find it so cool in “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” that the songs are all on the same key and have the same bpm, and fit together perfectly!
they’re not different songs, their individual verses bridged together with “we don’t talk about bruno-no-no-no” it is really impressive how they all fit together tho
The part where everyone sings their respective verses at the same time is also called a Madrigal. So this movie is goated for multiple reasons
@@MegaHiball that’s what I meant, I wrote this at like 3am
And that fact that no matter what language its in the voices sound the same
*MY FAVORITES:*
1. We Don't Talk About Bruno
2. The Family Madrigal
3. What Else Can I Do?
4. Waiting On a Miracle
5. All of You
6. Surface Pressure
7. Dos Oruguitas
8. Colombia, Mi Encanto
This movie had a beautiful animation and even more beautiful songs
Facts
"What else can i do" is my favorite song from Encanto with "Surface pressure", i just love how they open up like this just to Mirabel
What else I can do is my favorite Encanto song, it is so good!
I would say it's a tie between Surface Pressure and We Don't talk about Bruno. I don't mind my kids playing those on repeat.
Same
Nah this video got it right… Dos Oruguitas and We Don’t Talk About Bruno are the top two from the film.
“Waiting on a Miracle” is honestly so underrated, it’s my favorite with “We don’t talk about Bruno” and “What else can I do?”
I love that song too
Im going to be honest,
when i first saw “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” on RUclips (haven’t watched movie yet), i thought Bruno’s gift was that everything he says came true because of the part the locals said, especially the “i grew a gut” guy.
i always thought it was a plot about a misunderstood green guy who can see the future, nothing else hes just some accidental supervillain and they try to kill him or something
