Been planning a date with my wife to go to and eat dinner on old man Frank's and literally all the ramps were full. It was kinda disappointing but oh well I guess
You know I'm surprised we haven't bumped into each other yet. Been watching your vids for about 4 or so years now. I'm from Winter Haven and yes the chain is an amazing local thing to experience. I live off Lake Okeechobee now.
I am an avid boater up north. We have a boat on Lake Mendota in Wisconsin. Moving to Parrish, Fl in April. When you swim these lakes, do you not even worry about gators? Awesome videos!
They are there but they are so well fed and they are more scared of humans. I ski and swim in Florida lakes. Never an issue. Now you must also use your brain and don’t go in areas that are questionable or closed off.
I'm transferring for work to Florida in Sept. I work from home. I kayak, jet ski, mountain and gravel bike, hike, etc. I'm doing all of my research via the Internet and Ocala seems to be the most central place for all of those activities. My plan is to rent a year, check out the entire state before buying a house. Is Ocala a good choice or do you have (or anyone) have a better suggestion? I've vacationed several times in the Ft. Myers area and that's a little too congested/crowded for me.
Ocala is definitely central to all of those activities! Buy now, it will soon be crowded with people doing the same thing you plan on doing. Toll roads and neighborhoods going in left and right.
@@OverlandFlorida thanks for the response. Although I've had many vacations in Florida, I haven't experienced all the "seasons". I want to make sure I like it, as well as make certain Ocala is where I end up spending most of my time. Plus, since this is a work transfer, I want to be sure it's permanent.
Nice places to kayak from crystal river down to weekie wachee area.. Pwc..Hudson area down to Tampa beyond along the gulf..islands, stilt homes, anclote lighthouse....what I have experienced anyway...lots to see
@@OverlandFlorida I just finished all your video’s last night and started on Ron’s, giving me some good ideas where to go with my son and his new to him Jeep. Hope to meet you on the chain and get a sticker😀
What’s up dude been looking for a gheenoe for a minute and hard to find one for sale and I know your in my area of Florida just wondering if you know anyone selling one or maybe a river hawk yours I’d pretty cool little boat.
Thanks for the direction to the spring I went out 3 weeks ago and looked but didn't find it lol
Another spot to add to my list to bring my whaler to
There are some nice restaurants and bars on the lakes too.

Cool life !!
Thanks! I try to stay busy!
Awesome video. I’ll be in the chain this weekend for the first time.
Enjoy! Should be decent weather. It will probably be crowded.
@@OverlandFlorida thanks for the heads up. I’ll be there early to avoid the hectic launch.
Very much enjoy your videos. Maybe next time you could tell us how you navigate in the dark, is it because you are familiar with the area?
I know the chain like the back of my hand. But ill try and go onto detail next time.
Nice boat!!
I'm going to have to get a boat and check it out over there, I also live in the area.
I was there this last Sunday it was super busy boaters everywhere lake summit is also a beautiful little lake thanks for the videos.
You're welcome! Lake Summit is a nice lake and a decent boat ramp too.
@@OverlandFlorida agree.

@@nicholashernandez9804 there's like 20 ramps. You should be fine.
@@OverlandFlorida yea I just get panicky in crowded areas i have nothing against anyone.
The blue light in the back makes all the difference driving at night. Mood setter.
I know, it still amazes me how bright it is! So much brighter in person.
@@OverlandFlorida Do you have an install or informational video about the blue light, or could you provide any information on it? Thanks.
I enjoy your adventurous videos. Did you install the SeaDek as a DIY project or did you had it done professionally? It looks great. Thank you.
I installed the seadeck myself. It was roughly $100 from Amazon.

You might see me down there. My aunt lives on Taylor Creek and I'll be taking the boat down soon.
@@OverlandFlorida I'll keep an eye out!
Should go camping on fish eating creek.
You are living the good life ! Thanks for another great vid ! I am wondering what your Hull weighs ?
Oh man, that's a good question. I bet it weights like 200-250lbs.

I never worry about gators in these lakes. I can't even remember the last time I've seen a gator on the chain.

Love the River Hawk! I’ve got a B-60 that I need to put a new outboard on. What’s your top speed and cruising speed with the 20hp Tohatsu?
Cruise around 20mph. Top speed is about 28. It's a great boat.
Homeless people will sometime stay under that bridge US.17 . In Lake Eloise we used to Anchor up to the tires and watch the Ski Show .
They are under the bridge pretty often. We still go to the tires and watch the ski show.
For most of your boating adventures how far do you generally have to travel to launch from your home?
This being the closest at 25min. But usually an hour and a half to 2 hours away.

I've read that nearly 1,000 people are moving to Florida every day.

I have to be a rn ,paramedic, ff or leo
Put it in reverse and give it a good bit of throttle and it will clear the weeds.👍🏻
That's what I usually do, but there were way too many this time lol.

You're not much on an outro are you? Hahaha.
I make have forgotten to do that lol.
Air in the line... need to fix that.

It's a mix of everything. I actually went camping last night.
@@OverlandFlorida video to prove it🤣
Come camp Monday night at the Skyway.
@@OverlandFlorida I would but we'll be down south of Sebring camping at Hickory Hammock near the istokpoga boat ramp.
