Hey did you use a support bracket and also would it be possible to remove the curved pipe that you attached the adaptor on and put it on the one closer to the one under the cover (just wondering as i bought a filter slightly big)
Nice leggy! Watching these cos' I used to own one and now I want one again haha. A few things you might want to do is check the Banjo bolts. The filter in them are notorious for shitting themselves. Stock Intercooler is prone to cracking right by the turbo. Air oil separator or even just a small catch can would do great for the engine. Otherwise have fun man!
@@bluudysgarage yes, shouldn’t affect drivability. Done it with mine and it sounds like a 50/50 mix of open filter and boxed but with none of the downsides. Quite common on many other Subarus too
I had this issue with an audi i used to have. It sounded so much better but it was auto and between 1st and 2nd if you where just plodding around town and not really giving it much it would kangaroo and feel awful. So went back to vacuum cleaner sound lol

You can get a drop in K&N filter and keep the stock airbox with cool whoosh sounds and no headaches
I had a perrin one on my last car and it didn't have any issues
The blue filter is probably a Cosworth, which has been discontinued.
Good to know. Wasn't sure with no branding or part numbers on it.
If you remove the milk canister it will give you similar sound but with same drivability.
As in standard driveability?

Yeah you would have been like this. Needed a map to get it working right.
I did all the steps and my cars not starting
Such a shame it sounded really nice should have just got it mapped😢
It did. Nothing stopping me doing that later 😀
