I love how this analysis lines up with the projections of Peter Zeihan. Geopolitical analysts really does a much better job at investigative journalism than journalists nowadays.
As for the space race, you have America, China, Russia and India on one side, and then you have SpaceX lightyears ahead of everyone else.

When it comes to rebuilding American infrastructure, we absolutely should build public infrastructure that's designed to withstand nuclear war. The subway system in Moscow, for example, has nuclear blast doors, and can house a massive number of civilians. Our enemies do not believe in Mutually Assured Destruction, they believe nuclear war is winnable. Unfortunately, they're right. We had better prepare, or rather, _over-prepare._

If Scotland succeeded, they would use the EURO (not a new currency); and then they would negotiate to become part of the EU.
I am not sure this would be on the whole beneficial as they would lose a lot of the 'Union's Assets'.

Belt and road is about easing any logistical load during the invasions and to obtain slaves (Ages 15-35). Not about preventing sea borne access denial.

Geography matters and pointing out a nation's limitations is essential. Yet, the analysis of America's direction and interest is woefully inadequate, particularly the need or desire for Americans to be involved.

Please allow me to add a few contra points to what Mr. Tim has mentioned :
    1. Sorry, your assumption is to simplistic. Although many Asian countries have good diplomatic relations with US, deep inside, they don't trust the Americans.
We saw what had happened to Afghanistan, Iraq, the Vietnam war, The Middle East countries.
Dutathe, the former Philippines president was correct to observe that "whenever there is US presence, very soon there will be war!"
    2. US and her Western allies, know full well that the Road and Belt project will surely hit the Western economic interest severely if it succeed. And succeed it will! ( The Silk Road was so successful during the time of Marco Polo.." camel
and horses were used to transport goods, today we use highways and railways to transport goods and people. Asian countries have not forgotten our colonial past, that is why Mr Biden's" trip" to Bali was a total failure! ASEAN, countries refused to take sides. On the diplomatic front, Asean countries do not want to antegonise the US and her Western allies. Why should we, when they benefit us economically! Truthfully, below the "surface" the US brand is a rotten one! Listen to the debate on Ukraine on TV India, especially the one hosting by Mr. Arnab. We have not forgiven and forgotten how we were mistreated and exploited during the colonial periods.
"If you come with your warships and tanks we will remain submissive... don't assume it is a Yes!... you're wrong!!!!
    3. This coming century belongs to Asia. Europe is stagnant.. you know that, there is hardly any significant economic growth there..only around 2-3 %. Britain has opted out of EU! Germany, France, Britain, Canada, Australia, including big brother, US have turned to Asia in search of Prosperity! You have misread Asia completely. You're writing about Asia from your Western viewpoints which is slanted and full of colonial bias!
    4. When Asean countries are well connected with China, we will prosper and progress. If the US and Western powers want to join in you're most welcome, but please bring plenty of cash and goods. Remember well, please leave your guns and colonial Master mentality behind! " Don't teach and preach to us, but offer you sincere support. In a nutshell, believe me," the Road and Belt" project will succeed! When the Asean countries start to taste the sweet honey, all will rush in to support, including the "middle Asian countries". Laos , has openly admitted that the bullet train survice to China has benefited her citizens economically and tremendously!!! Thanks

There are two wrong concepts in this discussion; first China is not a dictatorial regime and America is not a democracy. About sparkling off a war, this is usually an American culture. I personally feel more attracted by the Chinese culture than the westerner one.

English people now regret quitting the EU by at least 70%. Work together we can pool closer with the EU than Scotland can ever be if they leave the UK. It would be as stupid as the English & Welsh were in voting--incredibly narrowly & backed by Putin plus Mercer, Facebook et al--to Quit the EU.

Not sure how he can characterize Trump as leader who you wouldn't know what he would do next. Trump did and worked toward everything he said that he would do. There were no surprises with Trump. All you had to do was to listen to his campaign promises, and see he worked toward everything he said he would. Just because you didn't like Trump policies is no reason to act like they weren't predictable.

Another liar. Trump promised to leave Afghanistan, he lied. Trump promised “better, cheaper” Health Care. Better than ObamaCare, he lied.
Trump promised The Wall, paid for by Mexico, he lied. Trump said there were 15 COVID cases, going to ZERO, 600,000 of US died. Trump lied and 600,000 of US died

Should maybe stick to the geography. The idea that Biden is a sentient creature capable of making decisions is quite preposterous. We can hypothesize on what his handlers will do and their motives.

US is a lousy brand in Asia, Middle East, Africa and may be in some parts of Europe! Mr Tim, your views about Asia is too simplistic, shallow and "colonially slanted".
