Love listening to you dissecting these episodes. I had a very low bar for this show going into it. But I honestly say this is the best Dexter since season 2 of the original. It is very entertaining and. I'm hoping as Better Call Saul was to Breaking Bad that we will have at least 3 seasons of Original Sin. They have so many years before when the Original Dexter started. I think there are a lot of great and fresh story lines they can have here. Looking forward to the next 4 episodes. I can't find anything about them renewing this show yet!
@@scotmorley thanks so much for watching! I enjoy making these recaps. Yeah I’m honestly blown away by how good the show is. I assumed the prequel would be a one and done season but the creators said that season 1 is only gonna take place over the course of about two weeks so that Harry can stay alive longer for future seasons I’m presuming
I liked all the dexter seasons. He is such a good character and I’m here for any Michael C Hall portrayal of dexter. I been a fan for almost 20 years now. Jeez the realization I’m 42 just hit me. I will agree the story kind of went downhill after season 4 but those later seasons were still decent. Original sin is good though
The guy that cuts the finger off that other guy from the Laura flashback is Santos Jimenez. Jimenez is the one that ends up killing Laura with a chainsaw. Dexter confronted Jimenez in Season 2 when he went on the road trip with Lila and eventually used Jimenez's hideout to hold Doakes captive.
I’ve always thought it was Tanya This is because she’s the lead of forensics and also, she’s a guest star. One final thing, when Dexter meets her he says in his head “she had no idea”. This is in past tense. Considering Dexter hadn’t ever broken the code yet, this could mean Dexter does kill her when he realises she’s the killer.
I think the opposite. At first I believed the kidnapper to be Tanya ( a lot of reason why)... However, with this ep. that's all changed. I believe the kidnapper is definitely a man. Size, build and the grunting while taking the kid was all guy... The "overacting" by the Captain was to "look" distraught.. But, this is the twist, why would anyone suspect the Captain to take his own child, and kill the judges. I think Tanya's look that you mention is because she knows it's the Captain. Because she is forensics, she also specifically says "Whoever it was avoided the oil spot". Only someone familiar with the house would know where to step and where not to step... In order to go undetected. This is the home of the captain and his ex wife.. Tanya knows it's him.. That is why she looked the way she did.. Tanya would also know not say anything out loud without a shred of evidence... I think she knows it's the Captain and doesn't have the proof to bring it out in the open... During her own "investigation" will uncover this, but the Captain will kill her before she can tell anyone.. Dexter being Dexter will also figure this out... I think the person who is killing the gay men, is Brian. And just like we are seeing Dexter perfect his killing and killing ritual. We are seeing Brian perfecting his craft. Maria and Dexter both said the victims are people who wont be missed. I also think that's why Dexter can put himself in the killers shoes is because it is Brian shoes he's fitting into... Showing a direct link to the brothers bond... Unbeknownst to Dexter of course. I think the next casualty will be the cop Dexter ran into. I think he will be the next to die.. Brian's mistake, is that he's a cop and will be missed... That's is how the station will find out about him.. He's probably related to Doakes.. Who comes in to avenge his relatives good name.. ( I'm lowkey praying the show doesn't reveal who it is. But gives the audience little hints that it is... Like showing the back of his head, or him leaving a cough drop on the bar. Something small and subtle that alludes to it being Brian... Without actually showing us it's Brian... Leave that a mystery the entire time of Original Sin.. Then show him approaching his last victim of the season.... A prostitute )
@@jamillajohnson6108 that is a great point about Tanya and I think you could be right! Also very interesting theory about the kills being done by Brian. He definitely is around so maybe they will reveal to the audience that it’s really him behind the kills!
I'm going to be very disappointed if it's the captain.. It also makes zero sense. And, watch the promo for episode 7. The kidnapper slams the kid on the ground.. It would be such a stretch that his own dad would do that. Makes no sense
@@JacobDean88 I don't think it's a stretch... When Dexter offered the kid a candy bar... He was like "I can't have candy" And the Captain is already extremely volatile.. He also doesn't seem to close to his son... So for me it's not a stretch it's smart.. Who would suspect the Captain would kidnap his own son... It's why I think Tanya knows it's him.. By the sweep of the garage only someone with direct knowledge of the house would know what to avoid... I don't think it's the new husband, he's been with the wife for 14 years now... I think it's the Captain.. Tanya uncovers evidence and gets killed because of it.. Dexter finishes the job..
Also on the Captain, you know, you're probably right the more I think about it because he did say that the guy was fucking his wife for 14 years... maybe his son isn't really his son so he just... doesn't care about the kid?
First one is still not confirmed nor would it make any sense that he would randomly approach Dexter for a seat years before the ice truck stuff. I think that was just an Easter egg, like this one is
Fair enough. But the line from Season 1 when Brian insinuates that his plan took years to lead to this moment, does make it intriguing as a possibility! Re: the ice truck specifically, I’m on the fence and ok with it being an Easter egg/shout out.
Been loving this review series 🎉 No mention of Matthews is only big gripe with OS. My Head Canon as of now is he's Lieutenant of Vice until something happens to Spencer, which would add context to pull string's to get Deb transferred in S1. We really need that Matthews video tho! 😂
There are definitely 2 killers in my opinion, one is killing children, and the other is responsible for the 3 murders so far Also ep 6 was the best episode so far for me 😊
When the kidnapper was kidnapping the kid there was a struggle and you could hear the kidnapper grunt and it sounds like a man, my theory has been that Gio is the kidnapper so this is just more proof for me
Imo the ice truck killer is the murderer. Hes going after the children of the people in power positions who endangered his mother, himself and dexter. Hes either doing it for retribution or to send a message to dexter.
Also dex seeing the kids body hanging triggers his ptsd. Only other time we saw something get to him like that was ITK blood room. Brian knows how to get to him. 100% itk
Give this video a 👍 if you loved episode 6!
12:56 nooo, Dexter doesn't kill innocent people 😭😭

This one was definitely my favorite episode. They really amped it up. That kill with Levi was satisfying and badass.

Was it really Ferrer his arm that was floating? I thought it was the nurse her arm?

The big bad is Matthews lol
Dexter won’t find this out until decades later and he’ll be the main/final antagonist of Resurrection 😂
maybe, dont know why they wont show the lieutenant at the time, and matthews is a fucking assshole but not that kind of asshole.
It was good
