Wow! Double Wow!! I'm just now discovering these charts, what fantastic contemporary big band writing! Of course, original Steely Dan is so choice and he has added such interesting takes in just listening to these short introductory clips. Guess I'll start saving my money to get all 11 of these for our local weekly, (Just for) Kicks (Big) Band. I remember Fred played in the underrated or maybe just as not well-known jazz fusion group of the late 1970's, Matrix. If you haven't heard any of their recordings, do so, you'll be glad you did (e.g. ruclips.net/video/kWZTvScqBlo/видео.html). Their group's music was all composed (fantastically) and arranged by the Fender Rhodes player, who I think was the rest of the member's college jazz or theory instructor. I saw them live when I was young and to this day it was one of the most musical, knock-your-socks-off things I have ever heard (and I'm old and a musician of many different styles). Have to check out all of Fred's writings!
THIS IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How is FM from Aja? :D
Aside from that, superb!
Apparently a common misconception. But it's true that FM was recorded during the Aja studio sessions.
