      Unrelated, but the way he was fiddlefvcking around with that wailer...and left it on while driving through the middle of the accident scene...this is tunnel vision/bad situational awareness. Never a good quality for LE.

      Arkansas law enforcement forget that their #1 priority is the protection of law-abiding people when they try to stop those fleeing. I've watched the videos of them doing dangerous maneuvers too close to innocent bystanders/drivers. They've actually commented that they don't care if they kill the driver they're chasing. What if there are passengers in the vehicle who are not participants in crime? I guess they're like everyone else - collateral damage. That's disgusting.

    Read both the attached article and after watching the video, I kinda believe he was fired for other reasons and the Sheriff was just looking for excuses to get rid of him. I was a cop for over 16 years in both small towns and big cities and this looked like a run of the mill County or State Po-Po code-run. He didn't blow through any red lights at speed, nor did he ever squall tires or even come close to losing control of his squad. It was day light, and the roads were dry with exceptionally little traffic. The officers are trained higher than most citizens at handling a vehicle at speed on the skid pads and EVOC driving courses. I didn't really see anything that could be considered reckless or overtly dangerous.
    In the city your back up is pretty close and usually plentiful, but with most county and state agencies your back up may be 20 to 50 miles away.
    When the deputy arrived for the backup, the lone fellow officer was still in the middle of a high-risk stop with more than one person in the suspect vehicle. To me this reeks of a spineless Sheriff caving to outside influences who have never been in a cop's shoes, or there is prior bad blood between the Sheriff and Deputy, and this was the excuse he was waiting for. If it's the latter, then the Sheriff could be right, or he could still be wrong depending on those reasons.

    Professional driver and EVO instructor here: I have no problem with the deputy’s speed on the open highway. The highway patrol or state troopers regularly drive 151 MPH just to catch speeders. My problem, and where I would support some discipline (not termination), is clearing intersections. 83% of LEO vehicle crashes resulting in injury/death occur at intersections. When that light is red, you must clear each lane, one lane at a time, at a reasonable speed. In my 12000+ hours of driving, I’ve never blown a red light at that speed. All of that being said, the rest of the deputy’s response was not unreasonable, and I certainly would not support termination based solely on this incident.

      He's got a lot of gun pulls and questionable behavior at traffic stops. Then just watching this response his driving is reckless. Leaving your lights and siren on while passing people on the right at those speeds is insanely dangerous. Especially since he constantly switched to the least audible tone, the composite air horn, when going through intersections and things like that. He was over a hundred miles an hour when he went past one car on the right. This is reckless. He probably was going to get sacked anyway this just put it over the edge.

  • @TroyBlake
    @TroyBlake Месяц назад

    I believe the deputy was terminated for not following written procedures, which could endanger the local community and the other deputies he works with daily. In this video, it can be difficult to see but he exits his vehicle as he gets on scene and immediately approaches the damaged vehicle and removes the female passenger. It looks like this might have been seen as a felony stop by the other deputies, where the occupants of the vehicle were going to be ordered out of the damaged vehicle and required to move back to the arresting deputy's vehicle so the deputies could remain in cover (more cover than walking up to the suspect vehicle) as the occupants were taken into custody. You can see the other deputies seem hesitant to approach the vehicle but do eventually approach the rear of the vehicle to offer some cover to Tyler as he handcuffs the female passenger. If this is true, Tyler's approach was too aggressive and placed himself and the other deputies in a situation where they had to approach the vehicle without cover, which might have been a violation of policy. If Tyler has a history of rushing towards dangerous situations and causing procedures (written to help keep deputies and citizens of the community as safe as possible) not to be followed, it may have been complaints from other deputies that eventually led to his dismissal. It sounds like the sheriff tried to coach the deputy to resolve these concerns, but it just didn't work out and the deputy was eventually terminated.

      The aggressive behaviour was recorded on his body cam, not on his dash cam.

    Ummm, I don't see the officer do anything wrong in this video. He's responding to a high speed chase, how's he supposed to respond if he doesn't drive fast to get there. I'm betting Sheriff Jahner was looking for a reason to fire this officer, Maybe officer Gibson slept with his wife! 🤣

    It does not matter what the backstory is here. There's no narration whatsoever. Nobody knows what the hell's going on unless they go back and read the description of the video and then go to the attached news story. This was the dumbest video ever... annnnnd the only thing to do now is go back to my recommended feed and hit the button that says DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CHANNEL 🤨

      They should have used his body cam video footage, and not the dash cam of him driving to the accident scene.

    To add to this and why he got fired. He's had a lot of questionable gun pulls and traffic stops as well as behavioral complaints and escalations. As much as people don't want to accept this, his driving was actually pretty reckless. I think they were already going to sack him and his response here made it so much easier. He's passing cars on the right while leaving his lights and siren on while traveling at over a hundred miles an hour. Then he drove right through the middle of the accident scene, while still leaving his wailer on... This speaks to tunnel vision and a lack of situational awareness. The person he was going to back up was on a traffic stop with compliant suspects. It wasn't an officer down, an officer needs assistance that was in a fight. It wasn't shots fired by MOS or suspects. It was back up on a traffic stop...again...with compliant suspects.

    Great job by sheriff for firing this maniac. All other sheriffs and chiefs should take note , he saw the signs and acted before tragedy struck. The minneapolis state trooper that killed 18 year old girl when he was responding to a call had 4 previous at fault crashes with his patrol car.

    This is just playing cops and robbers. All for fun, risking peoples lives or fun.
    This craziness doesn't have my approval. I expect more, better from the people I pay to patrol the streets with my tax dollars. Most of these high-speed chases would never get this dangerous if the police weren't chasing them. If they're a murderer. Okay, it's different, but 99.9% of the time, it's some traffic violation. Risking members of the public lives over a traffic violation. B.S. Mayor's, city council members. You have the power to stop this madness.

    He drove like a fool and obviously he passed and was probably driving recklessly by the wrong person
