1:20 this is a real character design masterclass to me right here. From the way the bros carry themselves in battle (Mario in combat position and Luigi looking aloof balancing from one feet to another) to their level up animation, just compare how much you can tell from the previous animation and these ones. The two first games give off nothing besides Luigi being just a slighty stretched out version of Mario's design (just that Luigi seems more enthusiastic/sensitive in Partners in time), where Bowser's Inside story gives of that power dynamic of the classic and competent hero on one side to the more expressive, goofier and clumsy air-head. Character design is not only based on the visual elements but the cheer corporality of a character. Brilliant.

I’m a little disappointed they didn’t include the rank up animations. Luigi’s rank up animation in BiS is great. Also, if both Luigi and Bowser level up in the same battle, Luigi picks his hat up before jumping away, which I always thought was great attention to detail.

One thing I noticed is that when you're selecting an additional stat to boost, Superstar Saga's roulette actually takes a little bit of time to stop spinning. In the other games, it stopped instantaneously.
Also odd how Paper Jam doesn't have stat boosting like the other games did...

Despite what everyone thinks. Paper jam and dream team are by far my favourite games of the series. I spent most my time with bowsers inside story and dont get me wrong its a phenomenal game with amazing plot and story. But something about paper jams quirkiness and dream teams style of visualisation is what really captivated me. This series as a whole has a special place in my heart and i hope one day. Just maybe. We get the partners in time remake or next game on the next big handheld if nintendo decide to approach it that way

Some funny story… I booted up my copy of Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time on my 3DS for the first time, and I saw in Save File 2 that Mario was two levels behind the rest of the Bros. He was on Level 7 while the others were on Level 9, it was probably because my sister kept on mistiming enemy’s attacks on Mario mostly which is probably the reason.
