    If this were designed for reading their microchips i would have bought one for sure, as i use the petsure microchip ones for my older cat on special food who likes to graze, where as my other cats are pigs and have a set feeding schedule so i need to keep them out of my older cats food.

      I need an alternative to the Surefeed microchip feeder. One died on me in 1 year and it's just not updated enough.

      Agreed.
      I also have the petsure microchip feeders and would love a function to have it fill itself.
      Autofiller + Microchip = Pawsome

      I agree as well, they need to support the microchips, it has the auto reload feature that puts it as better then Surepet

    Absolutely need to get something like this. I have one picky petite cat and 3 savages that will eat any and everything. Normally when I feed them I have to watch her eat and she takes 1 hour to eat a handful of food so something like this would be super helpful in her case.

    Great video and a very nice review of this feeder!
    I picked up one of these myself, and I really like it (just need two more so all three cats have their own). I love the app and the customizable display. One thing I don't love is how clunky the RFID tag is. Also, if you have cats that tend to wrestle and bunny kick each other under the chin, use the metal ring they provide and attach the RFID tag to the fabric part of the collar instead of hooking it on the little bar created by the clasp. I've had a couple times where the collar came open while they were wrestling and the tag came off and was nearly lost due to being batted around by an enthusiastic one year old kitten.

    So, far I really like this myself. Except my Orange cat Pb figured out how to immediately take the top off that holds the food. He pushed on the button with his cheek, and it came right off. So I made my own lock with Velcro. Also, the other negative is he able to steal my other cat's food. because she will not defend herself and the lid does not close if she is nearby. So two features I'd like to see are a lid that will close if it detects another collar and a lock for the food container.

    Can you do more auto feeder reviews???

  • @girlwheels
    @girlwheels 7 дней назад

    I have one of these feeders, but have a food safety issue. You cannot buy extra bowls. I DO NOT understand this. Every other auto feeder's bowls can be bought separately. But, short of finding someone whose unit no longer works so I can buy their bowl, I don't know what to do about this. How many cats do you know who only have one bowl?

    Great review but don’t need all the bells and whistles of the RFID tag. All I need is a feeder with a timed release and a camera!

    • @AllAboutCatsYT
      @AllAboutCatsYT  3 месяца назад +1

      Fair enough! I haven't tried a feeder yet with a camera, but I agree that would be a great feature, especially if you have multiple cats and want to see who is eating 😺

    13:16 those of us with more than one cat will know that this won’t keep the other cat from eating their food… maybe the next iteration will work better. Thanks for the review!

    Is there anyway to let a cat free feed? I’d love to have one for one of my cats he prefers to craze a little here and there but they other cats will eat his food though even if they aren’t hungry.

    Hi, thank you for the video! The fact that the collar prevents cat from strangling is really nice and thoughtful of manufacturer. Although I saw from the comments on Amazon that there are a couple of drawbacks with the way feeder operates (gates jamming, WiFi connection issues), my overall impression of it is quite nice, so I will likely give it a try.
    The ultimate crucial point to know for me is whether the food container is removable for washing. Could you give some insight on this, please? 🙏

    Hi Gordon!

  • @haley2163
    @haley2163 2 месяца назад +1

    Is 1/4 a cup the smallest portion size? Or if I want my cat to get 1/2 a cup total in a day, can I set several times for the feeder to disperse that amount? I used to have two automatic feeders and I loved that I could set several small portion sizes but had to get rid of them after one of my cats was given a prescription diet 💔

    • @medea207
      @medea207 2 месяца назад +1

      Hi! It shows in 1/12 cup amounts on the app and you can absolutely set up multiple feeding times to get to that 1/2 cup portion (you would want the total to say 6/12 cups in your case). As an example, you could set a feeding schedule where the feeder dispenses kibble three times a day at specific times that you choose and dispenses a 2/12 cup serving each time.

    A scammer on FBMP sent me a couple of these for free, because they didn’t send me the Surefeed products I ordered from them, which I’d have been able to use wet and dry food with. They’re still boxed but, one of the complaints people have is that these are not chip feeders and that the RFID on the collar is bulky. Might be difficult, for a cat, that is accustomed to no collar.

    • @AllAboutCatsYT
      @AllAboutCatsYT  3 месяца назад +2

      I agree the collar chip is a bit bulky. Gordon doesn't seem to mind, but it may be too much for a cat who is not used to wearing a collar.

      @@AllAboutCatsYT one cat I’ve had for years and is used to a harness, for walking. Not sure if he’d be OK with a collar. The other is recently adopted and still wears the collar he got the day I adopted him. He might be more immediately open to it - if I could just catch him.😆

    How much space would you need for each of the feeder and the feeding mat?

    • @medea207
      @medea207 2 месяца назад

      Hi there! From the back of the feeder to the very front of the mat is roughly 16.5 inches, the whole thing is roughly 7.5 inches wide, and the feeder is roughly 12 inches tall. If you have multiple feeders, they suggest keeping them about 20 inches apart (if I recall correctly) to avoid interference between RFID tags.

    How would it work to keep ants out?

    • @AllAboutCatsYT
      @AllAboutCatsYT  3 месяца назад +1

      There is a tight suction on the food compartment, and the eating bowl has an accordion door that is closed when your cat is not around, so I imagine it would keep ants out pretty well. Although thankfully I don't have to deal with too many ants in my apartment, so I can't say for sure.

  • @PLVC3BO
    @PLVC3BO 29 дней назад

    Out of the box, we already have an issue with it. No matter how we configure the feeder, the lid will ALWAYS close even when the cat is actually eating. It's like it reads the RFID chip to open, but closes after a few seconds.
    Any thoughts?

    • @PLVC3BO
      @PLVC3BO 29 дней назад

      Found the answer to my own question. Make sure that you don't have the feeder installed on top or near a large metal object because it will interfere with the RFID signal. We had the feeder installed on top of a full metal desk and that was causing the issue!

    • @AllAboutCatsYT
      @AllAboutCatsYT  3 месяца назад +2

      Oh no! There is a pretty tight seal on top of the food, but the feeding door is closed when your cat is not nearby, so I imagine it would be reasonably pest proof. Personally I haven't had any issues with this.

    This PETLIBRO is kind of a miss compared to the original Surefeed feeder. The Surefeed is able to detect an intruder cat and prevent food stealing.
    Can you please review and compare both? Not a lot of RFID feeders out there.

    Petlibro has a wet food feeder. It keeps the food cold, so that wet cat food can be used in it up to 72 hours. I wish you would do more videos. Happy Feline Friday!

  • @CurtisCT

    Gordon's fat! This is the PURRFECT feeder to put him on a diet! 😂 But seriously, I've been waiting for something like this for years now. I have two cats, and the older one's always trying to steal food from the younger one. Problem is, the older one is fat and has been on a calorie restricted diet while the younger one is allowed to eat as much as he wants as a growing teenager. Trying to keep the older from from stealer the younger one's food is a huge challenge, so I'll definitely be looking out for this feeder. My only problem is with the collar. Neither of my cats are used to wearing collars and I already know how they'll react to it. Why couldn't they have designed this feeder like the SureFeed microchip feeder? I currently have two of those and they immediately recognize the microchips implanted in each my cats, so no need for extra collars.

    That is really sad that you promote dry food for Cats and machines supporting it. What is the ethics behind it? Pretending to be good 😮for Cats feeding them unhealthy food? Disgusting 🤮

    • @edschulhof6303
      @edschulhof6303 4 месяца назад +1

      Dealing with reality, is more like it. A 2022 survey by the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention, shows 81% of cat owners state they feed dry kibble all or most of the time. Bashing them constantly is not going to help. This is not a fresh/homemade cat food channel. It covers all aspects of living with a cat. When I debate dry feeders and vegan feeders, I state facts and try to get them to research on their own, not just follow the Hill's Shills that dry is good. Happy Purrsday!

      Lmao not everyone has the luxury to choose what to feed their cats. I have tried to get both of my cats on wet food since they were little they HATE it. I still offer it at least once a week they eat maybe half before it goes bad or else go on hunger strikes until I give them dry.

    • @edschulhof6303
      @edschulhof6303 4 месяца назад +2

      @@basicenby4497 Exactly, all cats are different and there is no one size fits all. The wet food you try, is it the pate, or does it look like real food? Weruva makes wet food that looks and tastes (don't ask) like real food. When one of my cats started throwing up commercial food, I switched to feeding her raw ground beef. Both cats now eat mostly raw ground beef, sardines, poached salmon and boiled chicken thighs. I supplement with Weruva Paw Lickin' Chicken cat food, which is low in calcium and phosphorus. Happy Sardine Sunday!

I keep some of those on hand and split the can between the two and they usually eat it all but wouldn’t eat a full can each.
