You mention that you have someone who is on with you for the double barrel talks. You usually have someone that you describe as really good at emotion work join you. I have really enjoyed what they have shared. Additionally, the one point that I wanted to make is that you, Angelo, are incredibly good at emotion work. When you spoke during another video about honoring the parts of ourselves that we most want to NOT see, when you spoke about shame with clarity, simplicity and compassion - I can’t find the words really to describe the shifts that I experienced. And I have extensive training and practice in Compassion Inquiry ( Gabor Mate) Internal Family Systems, and Inner Relationship Focusing. Thank you, Angelo. Keep speaking to us about emotion work in the experiential way that you do. It is the embodiment of all this ❤
What I want to know is why there are are so many professional hypnotists/hypnotherapists listening to Angelo's channel! Perhaps they are picking up some tips. 😉
That is so cool. In some esoteric traditions they do that with yidam (iṣṭadevatā), a mental form of deity that is temporarily replacing your inner voice with a mantra, and at some point your identity, which helps to orient towards awakening, making meditative practice boosted. I'm now wondering what would happen if you cold allow all sounds (of the world) to replace any inner voice. Woah! :)
“All hypnosis is self~hypnosis.” Duhh 😋 What strikes me most curious is tales of hypnotists hypnotizing themselves to not feel any pain while undergoing major surgery… no anesthetics, physically awake all the while 😱
Awakening is not about lifting one's head into the clouds, it's about being able to pull one's head out of one's rear to face the world as it is, warts and all. Sorry for the graphic language, but I think the (often unconscious) idea that after awakening everything will be just peaches and cream (for the one who wakes up) can really thwart progress.
Would you consider making a video that addresses the relationship/differences/similarities between what you call "awakening", and "unbound consciousness"? Are they the same thing? Are they different? Etc.
Thank you! I feel like I’ve been hypnotized most of my life. When you said “the shame of being you,” that hit hard. It’s difficult to feel that shame. Always love the music in your videos! 🥰
The second comment, "Circumstances don't matter, only state of BEING *matters*" comes from Bashar (Darryl Anka claims to channel an "future" alien entity named Bashar). If I remember correctly, Bashar is implying that your state of being is what manifests your experience. Ie. if you have a depressed state of being, you experience a depressive life situation.
Thanks for your question Pam I am going through the same, shadow work, emotions etc which I thought was all finished. Angelo when you say it is intense I would agree but I would add the word terrifying. This started at retreat and has continued. Love all your videos ❤
Jhana is not an altered or hypnotic state. it is progressive immersion into the deep sleep state, even on the brink of NDE, but CONSCIOUSLY. “Deep sleep state” also implies pure awareness without a self. It is the historical Buddha’s main method. it being used as a catalyst for insight is what distinguishes actual original historical Buddhism from other traditions in terms of meditation practice.
For sure, I’m a better parent post-awakening. I’m present with them unlike I’ve never been before. When you see what awakening really is, that worry will float away. ❤
Andrew Huberman had a great guest expert on to discuss hypnosis. Apparently there's an easy test to check out if you can be hypnotized ( I can't recall his name but it was a great episode) I had tried hypnosis and it wasn't effective. I also " failed" the eye movement test to check myself ie. The test for susceptibility! I really wish I could be lol. Angelo is gaining world wide momentum and I have heard his channel likened to a cosmic comedy show. It was meant i in the context of great respect 🙏 thanks for appealing to everyone and giving teachings and content that i imagine almost everyone can gain benefit from. So down to earth and real heart ❤️ too
Many of the most enduring and widely read spiritual works really do feel like a form of hypnotism when you're reading them (e.g. I Am That, The Tao Te Ching, The Power Of Now, etc.). Looking at the same Truths from a multitude of angles over and over again (and over again!) assists the rational mind in getting out of the way. The rational mind becomes bored and confused, while there is also an intense Truth at the foundational core of the words and there meaning/lack of meaning. The words and ideas become akin to koans. If people are feeling that same sense of mystic hypnotism taking place on this channel, very likely you're on the right track! lol.
Thank you for your wisdom and insights. I have no questions, just listening is good enough and seems to be transmitting something to my soul that deeply resonates. Pranams to you Angelo 🙏🙏
I’ve started reading your book a few days ago. If I was awake lets say 20 years ago, did things happen exactly the same and I just suffered less or they could’ve been different?
How many of Angelo's guided meditations have you experienced? Different from his Q and A's, etc. Because for me, the effect is much like it was in a self-hypnosis class I took decades ago. Not talking about the protocol but effect. I appreciate both.
If ego is operating, then Angelo's videos are hypnosis and causing dissociation. If not, then not. All language is more or less hypnosis, depending on what the ego wants. On the contrary, Angelo uses language as mere pointers, and these pointers are beside the point!
I don't believe Angelo is hypnotising people, but I think I am hypnotising myself when I'm not patient enough to allow the path to unfold on its own. My response to non-duality videos is usually one of: Over-doing (my most common response) nothing obvious will manifest, but I'll groove with the poetry of the message and then over-effort trying to manufacture something special. This feels a bit like I'm hypnotising myself. Not-doing: (less commonly) I'll be wise enough to not over-do, maybe because I've already baked my noodle over-efforting previously. Not-doing-but-something-is-done-to-me: (rarer still) I'll not over-do and the unborn will decide to do something to me and I'll have a moment of recognition, sometimes an extended moment. Over-doing is very tempting as Not-doing-but-something-is-done-to-me seems utterly random (but perhaps gradually increasing), and it even tempts me to over-doing because just before recognition, or simultaneously arising with it will be a mental insight. For instance some months ago I had an insight to clearly separate visual sensations from tactile sensations in the head and this practise just flowed effortlessly, and then boom: something was recognised. It’s very tempting to then try to recreate that by recreating the practise that seemed to produce it, but that’s only ever been barren.
Hi Angelo, do you happen to know the books “You are the Placebo” or “Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself”? I wonder if there is any common ground with what you teach or if it is rather incompatible. Would you do an interview with the author of these books, Joe Dispenza?
@@oolala53 Yes and JD's take is different than Angelo's message. 'A' points to direct experience. I once watched a JD video where he was emphasizing mantra's and meditation to cure someone's cancer. So the goal was cure .... and the intervention was mantra and meditation. There is no goal here. In fact, there is really nothing to gain from a personal perspective.
Pretty please answer my question! So I assume you'd consider spiritual trances from our animistic spiritual traditions to also be altered states then? I'm almost certain this is true. While the states themselves are in the process of becoming... dis-disassociated, the jumping between them may accelerate the process for some. It's clearly optional though, and I sense intuition is likely the best guide for anyone figuring out what their true nature is. It'd be intrinsic to their approach and vice versa. Right? I mean if there are Zen awakened and doctor awakened and every other thing already awakened and never truly asleep, then there are shaman awakened too. Infinite paths and infinite expressions. And no path, simply the path of everything always. Oh dear.... where am I?
Do you think that fear is the opposite of truth? I've had so many "false" awakenings, but they are always laced with fear, and sometimes extreme horror. I almost don't believe that unity is possible, because what makes life experienceable seems to be discrimination. I apologize if these are layman thoughts.
If you were enlightened and had a brain injury and you experienced total amnesia or were inflicted with Alzheimer's would you still realize you were enlightened?
@@SimplyAlwaysAwake I wasn't trying to be facetious. I have literally devoted the last 6 years of my life to nothing but this. I am content and at peace with life, but I still experience suffering.
