How well does it handle green vegetation? Green vegetation would be something like a corn stalk, or some green shrubs. Can the chipper pull in such green vegetation without clogging? Do you think this can take the place of a chipper/shredder? I just placed an order for a Yardbeast chipper/shredder with the same 14HP Kohler engine, but if this Jansen chipper can do almost everything a chipper/shredder can, I might just cancel the order for that on Friday and order the Jansen 2000 instead. What I like about this Jansen chipper is the large hopper and the large throat and, the narrower footprint.
Hello Steve, The Jansen handles green vegetation well. The only time it had an issue was when I tried to shred Linden (basswood) logs. Linden is very wet, tough and stringy, and it wouldn’t shred. Eventually, it would clog the chamber where the cutting wheel spins. It wasn’t a big issue, I just removed the chute and cleaned it out. I hope this is helpful.
I haven’t replaced the belts and they are in very good condition. The blades are double-sided, so they can be removed, rotated and reinstalled. The blades are getting a little dull; however, I have chipped tons of logs. This is definitely a commercial quality machine.
@@AdventuresAtHome1 Hi, Tom: I called Jansen USA several times to ask them some questions, but they were either too busy to answer the phone today or they were taking the day off because of the holiday. I just placed an order online for this Jansen GTS-2000 Pro to take advantage of the Black Friday 10% off sale. Is that a handlebar at the top of the hopper? Does the handlebar allow you to pull one end of the machine down to balance the weight on the wheel (using the wheel as a pivot point for the center of gravity) and easily roll the machine around by hand power?
Hello Steve, I use the handlebar to swing open the inlet chute to clean it out if it gets jammed. It jams occasionally if you feed logs in too fast. I just published a new video on it chipping scrap firewood. I pull it around by the towbar, by hand to position it. Otherwise, I tow it with my side by side. It is a heavy machine, around 500 lbs.
I like it! It can chip 3-4 inch logs with no problem. I have put some larger logs into it and they got stuck and I had to shut it down. It was very easy to clear the jammed logs. It’s a very well made machine.
@@jamesvillegas877 I did a lot of research before I bought mine. It can chip large logs; however, they may bounce around several times if the wood is hard. It’s very heavy, so you may need two people to assemble it. I have been chipping Cherry logs with it and making great looking wood chips for the yard.
If you are looking for a wood chipper, I highly recommend this one!
Tolles Gerät, zu einem guten Preis!
Thank you!

@@AdventuresAtHome1 Thanks, very helpful. How well do the blades last for you? Have you had to change the belts yet?

Would you be able to tell me the dimensions of the hitch receiver?
It’s a 2 inch receiver.
Thank you sir!
How do you like the machine?

Looks nice. I'm planning on buying one. Best compact chipper I've seen.
