This is the QB play I've been looking for since Young retired. Garcia, Kap and Jimmy did good things but Purdy is operating this offense on another level.
Exactly
Thank Lawrence Phillips for Young's regrettable exit.
nobody gives Garcia enough credit
The more i watch your breakdowns of Purdy the more i see Joe Montana’s traits in him. We have a gem that WE MUST KEEP HEALTHY ! Kyle wont find anytime soon that kind of a QB THAT HE NEEDS for his offense
For. Real
@@jonnydelare you aware of this spot on pre draft analysis by UK fans ? Wow those english scouts are impressive ! ruclips.net/video/JgTy7zvmYNI/видео.htmlsi=Y4PbGSCf1G7y8lPC
You are THE best at breaking these down, good sir. Thank you.
Thanks!
Great breakdown! Even when a defense changes post snap, Purdy can still process his reads on the fly.... unbelievable..
For real
David Lombardi had a video a couple of weeks ago, showing that Purdy is the *only* QB in the NFL with positive efficiency (EPA per play) against every type of coverage. That makes perfect sense with Purdy's elite processing - every coverage has some weaknesses, so the QBs who can read/process/react the quickest are naturally going to find those weaknesses more often against more different defenses.
It takes me four rewinds from the safety of my living room to process what Purdy's processing in the blink of an eye with 250+ lb men bearing down on him.
Bosa and Young standing up inside with Armsted and Hargrave on the edges and then putting Bosa on that super long stunt is just disrespectful. I love it.
Right!?! Lol
Awesome. We are a few days away from the 1 year anniversary of the Purdy saga. What a remarkable story it's been thus far for 49ers fans.
It's been quite something. I remember when Jimmy went down last year. I thought it was over. Then Brock came in and it's been remarkable
Good call on releasing tonight. MNF is quite the defensive game.
yezzzir, and you win the fried egg award!! 🍳
@@jonnydeljt o Sullivan is always crying about CMC lining 5 feet back of the line of scrimmage and how it doesn't make sense. I'm assuming it's a spacing and timing reason. What's your take on Shanahan lining CMC that far away from LOS?
@@JP-sd4qc I was wondering that myself. Related to that, JTO is always saying he doesn't like that bump-motion or shift-motion CMC often does (these are usually the same plays where CMC is starting behind the line). I'd be really interested to see JD's take on what that motion's intended function is.
Saying itms a defensive game tonight is a very nice way of dressing an awful showing of both offenses.
Thanks for explaining that interception so well, Jonnydel. Also, I now understand that Purdy’s goal on every throw is anticipate and dont throw a hospital ball! 😂
When ever a vid drops I always have to drop everything and watch.
Nice!
Incredible job breaking down those processing skills that make Brock so damn effective
Lenoir is coming along nicely in the slot and Ambry has been a welcomed surprise on the outside.
EARLY WEEK JONNYDEL RELEASE WE HERE 🤞🏽
🤜🤛
If you slow down the film and watch the last throw. You see Aiyuk run his route and cut deep once he see’s the throw. That’s elite level read and throw from Purdy and amazing speed and knowledge to change his route to go and get that TD from Aiyuk.
Thanks for the breakdown! Been waiting for it since Friday but I realize everyone needs some time off for Thanksgiving. Looking forward to the Eagles scouting video.
That and I flew across country and back and had to get settled
Always enjoy your analysis
Thanks!
Great to see the team bringing things together recently. Hope you can get that scouting video out.
Me too!
Purdy IS the weapon
YES SIR!!!
And, yes, this show CAN compete with MNF.... especially that game last night... hahaa
🤣
Thanks so much for another great breakdown Jonny!
Brock has been playing at a very high level almost since entering the league. His mistakes are mostly due to inexperience. The pick was an unscouted look (and a bad playcall by Kyle for the situational football). As he's learning more defensive looks, Brock is improving, seemingly every day.
One thing you didn't point out is that Brock also has phenomenal short area quickness and some strength to get away from trouble and make tough throws.
He's a really good QB in a really good system with really good players.
I think our defense is better with Ambry playing, and I like the coaching the DBs have been getting from Steve. (Without Oliver) DB play is definitely better with Wilks, and that in turn helps the pass rush.
Chase has definitely made the line much tougher to counter. He's beaten Jordan Mailata or Lane Johnson as a Commander, so hopefully he does well this Sunday too.
Absolutely love this take 💯 score & game prediction for this Sunday?
@@novembermunoz Thanks. I definitely think we can win, and not just because I'm a fan. Eagles are vulnerable in multiple ways, and we are the better team everywhere except maybe O-Line.
I don't really predict scores, but know we have the better team. Zero doubt.
Ravens are much better than the Eagles this year.
With their new OC, Ravens offense is now a 90% copy of Kyle's.
@@LoanwordEggcorn I had a feeling we’d blow the Eagles out! Yeah, I’m definitely looking to the Ravens game. The next big test.
@@novembermunoz One game season every week, but yes, the Ravens are probably the best team remaining on the schedule.
Eagles had no starting linebackers and their DBs are indeed trash, so we probably should have predicted a blowout. And they barely won games (which they should have lost) against Bills, Cowboys, etc.
Best 49er breakdowns
Thanks!
Ty for breaking down special teams 🙏🏽 I’ve been wondering why we’ve been so bad this year in return coverage so hoping to see more of this down the line
The most insightful breakdowns of them all. Great understanding of this beautiful game.
Can i like this video 100x? If I could I would. I watch JT's video earlier and you blow him out of the water!!! Keep it up!!!
I appreciate the kind words and wish you could like it 100x too 😂
Great breakdown. I would like to see a pregame breakdown vs the eagles
Hopefully I get time. Hard to juggle everything.
Love your breakdowns. Every 49ers fan should follow you. 100% better than JT O'Sullivan when it comes to 49ers.
Well, JT is pretty knowledgeable but o appreciate the props
JTO has a lot of great insights, his stuff is really good. What makes JDF different is how much more Jonny talks about defense and coverage rules. To me, that's a difference maker.
@travisov JT's insight is different, but like you said, he doesn't break down the D. He just talks and doesn't give you the full picture. I think I'm over his videos; honestly. He's a "basic bitch" (not hating), if you know what I mean (I'm joking). Still respect his content.
@@jonnydel he is, love him, but it's just too much sometimes (replaying the same play over ane over and over) without any insight like your videos. You crush it every time.
@@UnderPressureGoat i sure appreciate it
It's interesting someone as meticulous as Kyle would allow deebo to go half speed on decoys or run half routes when the coverage isn't advantageous.
Yeah, not sure what the dynamic is. Cause I'm sure Kyle isn't ok with it, but Deebo isn't changing
Yeah it’s not ok.
On the kick return, our rookie (Ji'Ayir Brown) saved a TD return. He was on the opposite side. Hell of a play.
That's was Darrel Luter Jr. The other rookie DB
great work!
Thanks!
I love how the doubters are always saying “Purdy is just a system QB”. What they fail to mention is that Shannys system is one of if not the most complicated systems in the entire NFL. Not easy to get a good grasp on this system in a year let alone master it as Brock has seemed to do. Brock is definitely the MVP. JD knows it. I know it. The team knows it.
Newish follower. Curious to know how you know so much about the x and o. Were you a pro? Sorry for my ignorance
Great question I’d like to know . He’s incredibly knowledgeable I have to imagine he played at high school or at least college level. Loving every one of his breakdowns . This guy know 49er football. 😎💪
That's a great question. I'm trying to put together a sort of FAQ video soon
Yep the 49er's have a beast of a football team. Look at that offensive line doing its job. That gives Purdy a lot of confidence to use his talent to exploit weakness. Then when he delivers the ball the effort of the ball handler is remarkable. The Cowboys (my team) also have been looking pretty good but not on the 49er's level ...yet. Too bad.
It’s kinda crazy how often juice is open and we don’t hit him
Oftentimes, he's running routes not even in the progression. They're there to occupy defenders
100%. I’ve been wanting Juice to get more ops for years because of how good he actually is in the pass game and how little attention he generates.
Love this channel and your in-depth knowledge of the plays. Is there anyway you can explain the rational behind the formations where cmc is 5 yards behind the line usually shuffling sideways. JT O Sullivan has brought up that he sees no reason for this. Very curious of your take.
I think I'm gonna cover that on my pod thurs
I hope shanny gets in his bag and they get the revenge they need to push into the 6th ring. Huge test this Sunday
6:50 Almost certain by the way the pulling guard kind of just runs into 55 for Seattle that he wasn't supposed to block him. Based on how hard he crashes down Purdy decides who he gives the ball to and then you make it so 55 can't be right and have the guard be able to block Wagner should the DE play Deebo and you need to shovel pass it to McCaffrey.
Just crazy that even without 100% excellent execution they were able to make it a walk in TD.
Yeah agreed. 55 crashing inside is the key.
A shame you didn't include Purdy's tiny shovel pass to Kittle while he was being sacked. It's funny af but also shows his resolve to make every play count.
Glad you included one of his audibles in this game. I think Kyle calling 2 plays and letting Purdy choose which one to use really shows how much he trusts his qb (tho the pick-6 shows Purdy isn't quite there yet😅)
A win next week would be nice but I don't mind a loss as long as everyone gets out of Philly uninjured
The most important thing about the Philly game imo, win or lose, is that we come put of that game with the guys fully believing we can best them in their place. Obviously we all really want the win but a close loss wouldn’t be the worst outcome either. What can’t happen is we can’t go out there and get crushed.
Imma slide an eagles fan when I see one
49ers takin Philly down
first one here
So close. Must've been seconds or fractions of a second behind. But you're #2. So you get the silver award 🥈
A wide receiver shouldn’t run all out when they know they’re not getting the ball. You want the defender close to you so you can block him.. Then when it’s likely your gonna get a touch, you surprise the defender and it gives you better separation.
Generally the coaching instruction is to make every route look the same regardless of where you are in the progression on a given play.
do you believe our defense matches up well against Philly’s offense
Casually yes, but the Eagles O-Line is mostly very good. Lane Johnson may not play, which helps us, and Kelce had some problems against the Bills.
I wonder if Hargrave has some tips for how to play them.... :)
I do. It'll come down the interior line, IMO
@@jonnydel Possibly. Do you think Hargrave helps? I do.
@@LoanwordEggcorn yep
How can the 49ers beat the eagles
Wilks is still being a problem and it showed in the third quarter.
How so? Just curious. they really only surrendered one scoring drive the entire game, and it was for a FG against a talented offensive unit.
Well see if they can fest on Eagle's or they fall flat on their faces.
I have a feeling they'll be feasting on birds
What's up with 49ers center with crappy low snaps that Purdy has to scoop up?
That's a great question
CJ stroud is another good young quarterback who is benefitting from a Shanahan system, a solid but not elite online, and good weapons, yet doesn’t get handwaived as a product of the system. Wierd how some folks can’t let go of their pre draft biases.
I think some of the MVP talk, combined the 3 losses triggered a whiplash of criticism.
We should be talking about him as a 23 y/o who just finished his first season having produced at a high level by mostly executing in a good scheme , occasionally elevating it with big time throws, and sometimes making mistakes. You’d take that from any rookie an drafted anywhere
One word for Purdy...WOW!
And thank you for taking into consideration the verbiage of routes, concepts and coverages. Making the most complicated game in the world more esoteric holds back understanding.

@@jonnydel Sorry...Didn't get that. Was that an emoji thing?
@@SteveBerryhill yeah, it was a salute
thanks, good vid
Thanks!
JT o'Sullivan says Cmac 5 yards back and shuffling sideways presnap is ridiculous and ineffective. What's your take?
I think he's looking at it from the QB lense where you want answers from your receivers. Kyle's looking at it from a chess piece perspective and if it causes pre-snap spacing to dictate leverage for another guy, he's using it
Scouting for Eagles-..... DO NOT LEAVE TIME FOR HURTS TO COME BACK IN THE 4th,
Bills controlled their destiny and should have ran the ball, picked up the 1st down and then ran the clock down before scoring. Any other team a touchdown right away would have been fine. With Hurts you cannot give him time. He has that brady effect where he has the ability to "magically" score whether he has 5 minutes left 2 minutes or 30 secs. You just have to keep the ball out of his hands at all costs.
If Warner didn't tackle so high, that would've been a safety. He need to watch watch tape on Pat n Bow on how to get low lol
Interesting. As a LB I was always taught to tackle high for giving up fewrler yards after contact. Open field we'd tackle normal, goal line we'd tackle high so a guy couldn't fall forward and score
If JT O'sullivan sees it, you see it, we see it, then Kyle must see it too. If it comes down cap $, do we trade Deebo to keep Aiyuk?
Deebo is also very valuable with the ball in his hands and demands attention. Just wish he'd understand what his attention can do
#JD49
Love the break down as always but not gonna lie my ears perked way up when you said you're gonna go through Shanahan's route tree!
🤘🤘
Extra shout out to the play design on the drift route at 14:40. With the motion from Deebo, it widens Adams out of the throwing lane.
Kyle has an answer for everything!!
💯
Good stuff as always.
Thanks!
Love watching these every week; like you said..for may be half the 3rd qtr felt off but game never felt like it really was going to flip in Sea favor
That Aiyuk play will be on their carrer highlights.
A pull-shallow, or as I call it the "Friday night special"
Is it a special teams call not to touchback the kick? Or does Moody suck at kickoffs? Cause I've seen more than a few kicks get as far as the 10, which is insane in the NFL if it isn't a call.
Sometimes it's about dictating starting hashes. They want a directional kick to dictate where rhe wide side of the field is. They'll look at a teams preferred hash from a touch back and then try and directional it to pin them on the other hash.
We didn't beat the Seahawks, we beat the SheCocks. Say it right!! 😘 love your videos, btw.
Daaaaaang, lol
Deebo is the worse route runner on the team....
Mmmm, I'd give that to Aaron Banks. Just kidding!
Purdy Pick play. Juice is Open and he waves. I'll let it slide since the niners were up by 2 scores and came away with the W.
He's not on the progression, and are clearing routes as johnydel explained.
Love these breakdowns.
