You guys are annoyed with the plot hole of them having stride a decade in the past, while I'm here finding it even more difficult to believe that Murakumo/Nubatama/Tachikaze were able to win a National tournament.

***** Honestly when it comes to plot holes this show has them in abundance. I stopped caring about that a long time ago, and mostly watch it just because I'm in love with Vanguard.

After watching this, I was going to say that the kid who taught Ryuzu how to Cardfight is the TRUE antagonist, but then I saw on the News that he died. So much for that theory.
Maybe after the incident with the Stride Gate and Chrono Dran something happened and erased G Units from existence and everyone's memories. Sort of like how the Aqua Force Clan was sealed away or how Takuto made people forget about The Royal Paladin, Shadow Paladin, and Kagero clans. It's a possibility and it's also the only way they can have this episode make sense. I mean think about it, something obviously happened with the stride gate that they wanted people to forget. That's why Rive made Chrono forget Dran. So maybe he took it a step further and erased the very concept of Generation Stride from Vanguard so noone would try to mess with the Stride Gate. And he also erased Gear Chronicle from peoples memories cause they are the main clan to use the stride.

+McGack1 Yeah cause according to the lore Gear Chronicle came out of the Stride Gate to help the other units of Cray control the Stride Force.
problem is that unless that can reasonably explain why all other card abilities vanished too this episode doesnt fit the proper timeline

That's beside the point. It shouldn't be possible to have your Grade 4 units back then. Because, if they could do that. Why couldn't they just cross/break ride? Wouldn't that be simpler than creating a bunch of units just for another Grade?
This chapter is the perfect example of Bushi saying "f*ck timeline and continuity, we need to advertise our new Tech Booster within the series". You really had to mess up everything just to advertise for a few seconds a new booster? I don't know what surprised me the most: the idea that this chapter was the most random thing ever to explain Ryuzu's backstory or the fact that a Team made of Tachikaze, Nubatama and Murakumo won the Nationals and aimed to the World championship. C'mon writers, you are better than this
well for one thing, their team was ACTUALLY GOOD.
No, they won cause they had Strides and G-Guardians during a time that the most powerful cards were Alfred and the first Overlord xD

I was laughing so hard at the start of shin's flashback. Men, Bushi just blown my mind like WTF, Gluttony Dogma and a G guardian?! LOL the things they do to promote the g units... i like the fact that the still print new units that are LB legion and even a g limit break unit but the anime just made the timeline of the entire game look mixed up. i guess the time traveling Gear Chronicles took all g units thus signaling the rise of the Counter Blast power.
Maybe the opening of the Gates to Cray caused the Gear Chronicle to step in, taking all away from the world but leaving only the basics of Vanguard because the two worlds are still linked. That caused the disappearance of G-Units and everyone forgot about them -which has happened before with some clans like Aqua Force-, but few people can remember them -Shin is like Aichi int he G-Unit/Royal Paladin situations-, and that's why it's considered new.
We all know Bushiroad doesn't care about plot-holes as much as it does selling new cards, but we can still figure out some sort of theories on it.
The advanced technology of the fight tables might have been erased by Gear Chronicles too, and when Stride reemerged, the technology that was long forgotten also returned, and then G-Guardians appeared again as new and soon enough everyone was using it again because that's how it originally was.
So it's basically all Bushiroad's fault creating the plot-hole to sell cards, but we can also link it to Gear Chronicle stepping in to fix the issues with both connected worlds by removing the Stride Force from both worlds at the same time.
Yep, then next up is unsealing/unlocking Chronojet Dragon and Chronodragon Nextage and rescuing Chrono Dran and the other Zodiac Time Beast cards.

For those who don't understand why there are strides and g-guards in this episode, I have the answer:
So, basically, before the plot in the anime, they had the full game. The Aichi and Kai story (og anime) starts right about when bushiroad reboots the game. But then, in G, they rebooted the game again and brought back strides (kinda like they did irl in D standard with the stride decksets).
The fun part is that Bushiroad was always planning to reboot the game three times, ever since the very beginning of the game, and they literally easter egged this plan in this episode., lmao.
I just noticed! Tokimi has 'toki' in it which means time i think.
I don't know why people are starting to question the timeline NOW... It's been messed for a while. For example, how the heck would Jaime get Thavas as a kid if 1: Aqua Force was sealed away at the time and 2: Generation Break didn't exist.
I believe it's the same as how Shion got Altmile as a kid as well if I'm not mistaken.

Highspeed Brakki like I said, Hamsuke, Zanbaku and Rex would have been good decks to feature, because they kinda existed then and really don't need strides.
But, here's to waiting for an attempt to explain how all of these things will make sense, involving time travel. Because Gears work with time.
And where's my Zennon reference?! The sage of time should be all over this, but not a hide nor hair!
For all of you who think this could have happened after the movie Neon Messiah, that can't be. Rive mentions how Shin has to take care of Misaki, which means Misaki is alive and it's after her parents died. (Also did anyone else notice how Ninja Master Neo has a Limit Break Unit in his hand when we see him fighting Shin?)

ryuzyu sounds like a good guy when he wants to stop conflict in the world but when u find out he's gonna destroy another planet's good luck he's actually starting conflict

What if the Stride Gate and Chrono's meeting with Dran the reason why the G4 units were removed from the game for so many years. They took away the clan's abilities until Vanguard grew into the game it was at the end of Legion, where Striding was reintroduced because more people could handle Vanguard as a whole and it wasn't broken as crap!!! (Seriously, this feels like a nice retroactive retcon that allows the original show to stay intact with canon!!) This plus a memory wipe to most players would explain why they had to rebuild from basics like in the first season of Vanguard original.
***** Yeah... flashbacks that retroactively tell you 'hey, this new stuff was around back then', kinda tells you how BS they are being even if they don't realize it themselves!!

i can understand Bushi showing the new support, but couldnt he have shown the non stride and gb cards. I mean the new booster coming out has cards like ZANGEKI, Sun Giraffa and Hammsuke support, and these are cards i feel that were made just for these eps in the past. It would have been pretty cool to see these new units being used in deck with units we havent seen in ages. If Bushi wants to show the new keywords for Murakamo and Great nature than have Shinji or Chris( who is apparently in this series just for science) fight Sousuke( the Megacolony guy in the Company) IN THE PRESENT

the writer(s) really didn't read this carefully enough to realize Strides was a recent thing in Vanguard G's age and not in Vanguard. I understand the series wants to make commercial for cards but this is breaking the timeline, lol
Let's just say this is non-canon episode because the whole using grade 4 units, and generation guard in the past before Aichi was born makes no sense at all
The last few episodes were obviously to fill up episode count anyway.
Actually Aichi probably is in still grade school because it was only A couple of years before Mark whiting became a teacher
How does Rive and Ryuzo use stride generation and generation guard before team Q4 could?
I only came to watch the Japanese version for one reason to checkout the intro and closing theme. I got to say the intro theme is soooooo AWESOME, while the closing theme is cute and funny. You know I do wish that the English dub adopted this intro it's COOL and AWESOME. Best yet in this version there is English in it, so it's doable!
We could say Rive got the newer cards from other regions. The Vanguard card game in our world had English cards that were significantly slower released than Japanese cards. Also, it is possible that limit break, legion and striding were banned in tournaments. Slowly, these return. Like Yugioh, some banned cards return, with different effects that are less broken. Striding, limit break, and legion might have been more broken before, and might have gotten banned, but returned much later, during Aichi and Chrono's era.
Rive and Ryuzu were lab partners. Rive was a good Friend/mentor the Shin and Mark. Shin is Misaki's Uncle while Mark was Aichi's junior high school teacher !!! It all makes sense now!!!!!!

Plot Holes everywhere... Like, for one, the stand table they were using. Those didn't exist back in Aichi's time as the main focus. Neither did the G-Units and the GIRS arena. With the way technology evolved, I would guess that Chris made the stand tables that would interface with the phone things and the GIRS system. Also, just the fact that Shin was acting so Tsun with Rive. I might've found my new ship.
My only guess about how strides and G Guardians exist is because of Gear Chronicle. Let's not forget what clan started the strides. Chrono's father going missing could be the reason why the clan along with strides don't exist in season 1 (Aichi times)
I think it has more to do with the next clan booster that is coming out and they want to show off the cards that will be in it... But I like your idea.
Trust me Barry or Future Trunks didnt screw up the timeline. It was bushi.

Theory For the stride stuff:
Each clan has g units which they used to fight each other but the g units became so strong that they could not control it so they sealed them away and the g units went to hibernate but when the deletors came aichi used the messiah card which created other g units was awoken which means the g units re awakened and becomed free again.
(I hope this makes sense)
This basically means that when the clans sealed them they were also lost on earth but was brought when the messiah reawoken.

guys new theory maybe what happened was g units were discovered during the research and they only used it to train and now when a large variety for each clan was found they made it public same with g guardians

I just came up with this but I think gear chronicle is link jokers counter part the reason is if you look closely some gear chronicle units have rings around them but they look like gears while some link Joker Units have black rings around them and one is space and one is time. And their basically two sides of the same coin one sends units to the past or the bottom of the deck and sends cards to the future or time leap while the other locks units or sends them to a bound area so what I'm saying is their the same but with different Abilities

Here's my crazy theory. When the Aqua Force was sealed away on Cray, it was wiped on earth. When the Aqua Force was revived, 3 more clans were sealed away on Cray and therefore being erased on earth. When Void returns as Link Joker, it must have been Gear Chronicle in disguise. Gear Chronicle's specialty is messing with space-time to send units to the bottom of the deck. The disappearances and the replacements are as if space-time was tampered with. Link Joker's lock ability seems to be messing with space-time. When Link Joker and Void was defeated, Void somehow released the Gear Chronicle.

Eh... My head hurts because APPARENTLY Stride and Generation Guard WERE A THING in Shin's past... so I'm like "bullshark". I can't believe this. If those existed back then... why didn't Aichi had some, or f**king Kai or Ren or Leon or I DON'T CARE, this makes little sense than the fact that Vanguard excited even back then. Not even Duel Monsters existed in Card Form even back then in any Yu-Gi-Oh series up to the point Pegasus EVEN CREATED THOSE CARDS. Aw... my head.
and there is already a plot hole in this episode. I'm pretty sure that there was no strides, generation guards and any of the new units back then.

Problem is they're not short on advertisement. They still have commercials, previews and shop tournaments, and the card game is widely known already. This is just a cheap way to force new cards down our throats even when it doesn't make sense. What's the point, if you destroy continuity for advertisement? This could result in more of a detriment than a help.
