🤩 🤩 🤩 Oh my goodness. What glorious skills you have! That dress is GORGEOUS!🤩🤩🤩🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿 But let’s talk about the aesthetically pleasing masterpiece I just watched 😮 Giiiiirl, I don’t even like ASMR videos but THIS video gave me my ENTIRE life! 😵🥰🥰🥰 From your beautiful feathered cuffs, to the pleasant bird chirps, to the satisfying hissing of the iron, you NAILED it! What a glorious addition you are to the vintage sewing community here on RUclips. I have to subscribe. Thanks for sharing this video, it was glorious to watch on every level ❤❤
What an incredibly beautiful idea to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day and honor the dignity and elegance of the protestors by creating this gorgeous dress with love and peace! You have me in tears ❤
This is nothing short out of absolute majesty. I now know how my great grandmothers saved the old white sheets, dyed them various colors and transformed them into beautiful Sunday and HOLIDAY dresses.
ASMR AND a vintage sewing tutorial combined?! YES PLEASE! Really looking forward to your future videos when you create your dream wardrobe. Your happy dance hands make me smile every time, thank you 😁
Tips to keep your iron from leaking are. Never store with water in it. Once water is in it don't lay it horizontal until it's hot and ready for steam. Don't press the steam button until it's hot enough this means when it's re heating too because it will just cause it to leak. If your iron has been dropped a lot then replace it. I've heard good things about Chi and I have a singer and I have no complaints and it now is available in Pink!
Thank you for taking the time to share these wonderful tips. I will keep them in mind until I can find a replacement. And I love pink ~ will check out CHI 💗
Gorgeous dress! And love seeing proper shaping under it. What a beautifully shot and edited video as well. The entire video felt luxe and glamorous. Such a relaxing and original idea to bring to the vintage sewing RUclips community! I CANNOT wait to see what you do next! 😍 Also, I am LIVING for your fur trimmed sewing ensemble.
I just adore the bows and ruffles! It’s a unique twist on a classic 1950s design and you executed it perfectly. I’ve been looking for some inspiration to sew more things that are just lovely and you’re it. Can’t wait to see what you make in the future!
Yellow was the perfect colour for the dress. You would have looked amazing standing in the shadow of the podium. Well done. All the best for the day. Ms. Cindy, you are such a strong visual storyteller. Thank you for all of the work you've put into filming and editing (and the sound editing!). And you're style is impeccable - also in love with your pattern weights... I get the feeling you're about to be requested by a whole bunch of people, myself included, to do a tutorial for your house gown. New subscriber, looking forward to it all. Cheers. - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
Thank you so much!! I actually have a lovely vintage Vogue pattern to sew a feather trimmed robe. As I’ve just begun sewing, I don’t have a stash of supplies to make it but once I’m able to go shopping for the fabric & notions, I’ll be happy to film a video! 💗💕
Very detailed video, the dress is stunning, the colour, and the little details make it really stand out, enjoy every minute wearing it. Thank you for the video
So many of my favorite things combined in a wonderful production value video, thank you! Please consider showing the back of the dress too and if you're comfortable, modeling/styling it. Good luck with the channel, looking forward to more beautiful videos and picking up more sewing tips. Happy Dr MLK Jr Day! 👗💛
Thank you so much!! I’m still deciding on whether I’m comfortable modeling for RUclips yet but I will keep the back views in mind for the next time. Great idea & Happy MLK Day to you as well! 💗💕
Wow. I'm not really a fan of ASMR videos but THIS was fantastic. I love sewing and could absolutely watch your sewing videos all day. Re: irons. I've spent so much money on irons myself, Black and Decker makes a good one,but my kids or husband were constantly knocking the irons on the floor so they'd end up leaking. The iron I'm using now is a TFal and although it's also been knocked to the floor, so far it's held up and doesn't leak at all. So I can recommend that one.
Your video was one of the ones suggested to me by the RUclips algorithm. How delightful. Thus you have a brand new subscriber who is excited to binge feed on all of your other offerings.Your work is so classy and sophisticate , really even more so than many other sewists here. What a joyful prospect for me to discover your other work I just can't wait. . Bless you and your continued endeavors.
I've read that Rowenta has lot of good irons with steam, they seem to be on high quality. Also I recommend that you hay to press the fabric lightly while you press the steam button, and also make little round movements with the iron to keep the fabric smooth (Idk if I wrote it right sicen English is not my first language but i finished my first year to become a fashion designer) An absolute lovely dress and tutorial!!! Amazing
Gorgeous dress, love love love that buttery yellow! 😍 Irons… I had a Rowenta when I was younger, then an Oliso, now a cordless Panasonic. I love my Panasonic iron so much. It’s my best friend.
@@CindyLeaux I like that it's cordless, and on high steam, you can hold it vertically and get some pretty strong bursts. You're not tethered by the cord, so you can take it from your ironing table to your dress form if you need.
The dress is absolutely superb, I cannot believe this is just your second sewing project, you must generally be a very detail orientated person to be able to pick up a new skill so quick and have such well polished results fast. I am so glad I came across your channel, I’ve been wishing to find more vintage sewing channels that fit more with my prefered aesthetic. I saw a clothing rack full of glamorous things in one of your previous videos which makes me wonder if we’ll get to see some evening wear later on as well.
Y,our dress is so beautiful! You sew with precision. I enjoyed watching you sew, it reminded me of how my mother used to sew many years ago. Thank you BUT, I would of loved to see you model your gorgeous dress at the reveal.
This is the first video of your's I've seen and I love everything about your style of content creation! The dress turned out so nice and the bows were a very nice touch :) Also, if you're still looking for an iron, Chi brand irons are pretty good. They have a really nice one that costs around $80.
Beautifully done. I wonder what it would like with the bows at the waist where the dart lines meet the seam. Not sure about them being up under the bust.
I never had one. The only place I ever used them was at a bridal design company I worked at for a hot minute when I was either fitting for some rich girl whose family knew our owners, or if I was getting dresses ready to ship to trunk shows (I hated that job).
You have a 24.5" waist? :O It would be super cute to embroider something on the collar - your name or initials, maybe? In a dainty chain stitch? I always associate the chain stitch with the 50s-60s. awww thank you so much! love all your styling ideas! i wore it with white gloves & heels and would love to get into embroidery someday. will have to incorporate it in the future 🥰
I have an Oliso, it holds I think 12 ounces of water and produces a lot of steam. It wasn’t cheap, I think $125, but I have been using it for ten years and it has no problems.
@@CindyLeaux well, in ten years I would expect some inflation. But if I divide it over ten years it was very inexpensive over the time frame. And I do use it a lot. That said, $250 would cause me more of a pause.😸
I own an oliso Olso, very good iron, quite expensive do. With time I come to the conclusion that, no matter how expensive an iron is , you can get about the same results. I have own in the past two rowentas very expensive too. I destroyed them both (they started leaking) my fault I was using tap water,. that, will destroy any iron no matter how good or expensive it is. You have to use bottled water that's the secret. My oliso still good because I never put anything else in her other than bottled water.😊 Hope this helps.

Wow. Of course they’re just heart shaped pins. I’m sure that was obvious to everyone but me 😭😭😭. I see, the interfacing I get comes in a sheet my local shop just cuts out. That’s interesting to know and I’m wondering if I would get better results if I did the same. Thank you for the info 😊
