    Thank you for taking the time to share your experience for those who are new to the seestar s50.

      Thanks! Glad you found it useful, or at least interesting.

    Thanks for joining! I do appreciate it. Does anyone have a particular target they're looking forward to imaging as we head into spring and summer?
    I'm looking forward to looking at more galaxies, and galaxy clusters. And maybe a supernova or two.

    I appreciate that you have invested time and experience into this video. I have watched presentations that address field rotation yielded from this AZ mount, as they have re-oriented the Seestar to equatorial mount.. I have seen their results in being able to expose longer, without field rotation...If you want a link to specific channels, I will share at your request. These are laymen in Astro, so there is nothing to sell... I have had a great deal of clouds and rain in SoCal since I acquired it, so I have almost zero experience in the field. (I spent about $90 to convert to Eq)

      I did see one video where they put it on a wedge to change the angle. Is that what you did? If so, that is pretty interesting. I might try it out. (Although I do recall there were some limitations, as far as things below the celestial equator wouldn't be reachable by default.)
      What was the name of the channel or video? Just curious if it's the one I saw. (The one I saw was by a channel named "Physics Demos".)

      Yes, that is the one. (Using the Sky-Watcher equatorial mount.) I didn't mount the cleat as he did, but found it ample to leave it in place, by carving a notch in the case to close it...also, replaced the cleat set screw with one that is slightly larger for finger grip. I hope my response isn't too disappointing, coming from a novice of novices as myself. Thanks for your channel and candid response!

      @@marckriggins2171 Not at all. I appreciate the comment! And honestly it's inspiring me to try out the equatorial mounting once it gets clear here again. (Which unfortunately might be a few days away.). It gives me a few days to fiddle around with the mounting, too.

    Hi,
    I would definately go for the shortest integration time since only there you have control of not saturating pixels.
    Overall exposure time (hours) will be the same, compared with longer exposures.

    • @erewhon42
      @erewhon42  6 месяцев назад

      That's a good point. For bright stars longer exposures can definitely be a problem.

    Can you have meteors or satellites in your pics with the seestar? I had that with the Dwarf2.

    • @erewhon42
      @erewhon42  8 месяцев назад +1

      I have definitely gotten satellites in the photos, but if the total integration time is longer, they tend to average out and fade away.

    Lost the will to live waiting for something to happen. Sorry dude I know you invested time and effort but perhaps plan a little better?

    • @erewhon42

      The pacing of the live streams is definitely a bit slower. I usually try to go in after the fact and add chapter markers so people can more easily scrub past the slower bits during the replay. And personally I often watch back other people's live streams at at a higher playback speed. But of course, tighter pacing would be better.
