    Would like to see a follow on these when broken in, and maybe the fit under a straight jeans. And bring along your father with his older pair!

      Are you my dad pretending to be someone else, because he keeps telling me to make a video about his older pair. I think that is a solid idea. which I may do come fall or winter. As for my own Nicks, I will probably also do a video on that once it is fully broken in which I still haven't achieved yet. Thanks for the video idea!

    Congrats man, they look great, with some break in they should be easier to wear and take off. I recently got my Wesco Mister Lou’s and they were pretty painful at first but after a few weeks they start to feel a lot more comfortable. A shoehorn also goes a long way for me with these too

      Wesco Mister Lou? Oh man I am so jealous now. I wish I could get my hands on a pair of those. Too bad my feet are tiny and they don't make stock sizes in my size. Best of luck with those awesome boots.

      @@thedapperdiary On Mister Lou, there's no counter heel support, so lots of heels slip. The boots are awesome, but I'm hesitant to put them on for a day with lots of walking, like on a fair day or a city tour, cause heel slip is a magnet for blisters. I'm more confident on Nicks for my next pair.

      @@stephan384 I agree that Nick's build quality is probably nicer. However, there is something about the sleekness of the Mr. Lou that is just so damn sexy. Something Nick's just doesn't have. But to be fair, the Nick's last is more foot shaped which would be more comfortable on the feet for all day wear.

    Awesome video!! I just got so lucky and won Exceptional Nick's boot in the Patina Thunderdome and got to choose any Nick's MTO boot. I chose the Wickett & Craig Station Master with Natural Double Stuffed leather. I had to go all in lol. I never see myself spending almost 1000 on one pair of boots..so this was a no brainer for me. Can't wait!!

    I'd recommend a boot jack. I went with a wider toe box so they haven't been difficult to put on, however when your feet get sweaty they start squeaking, which I fixed by getting a boot breaker insole by rose anvil, now they're my favorite boots.

    The putting on/pulling off sounds somewhat similar to my initial woes with Redwing Pecos. Wearing and walking helped either stretch or form the body of the shoe to let my foot in with far less effort.
    With regards to the sock shifting thing... yeah, that's a massive annoyance. Recently I got a cheap stainless steel shoe horn to see if that would help. It did for me.
    Perhaps a shoe horn would help you too.

    Nice video, I own a pair of builder pros and am looking at the station master for rides out on my motor bike.On the website they say they can be resoled but are not rebuildable. A boot jack would also help get them off or a shoe horn. I use both. If they are lose enough to come off easy they they will probably slip up and down when your walking. To be fair my motorcycle boots i currently have are a bit tight to get on and off which is why i have the shoe horn and boot jack. They come off in seconds.

    IMPORTANT NOTE!
    I forgot to mention this in the video, but these boots are handmade, generally made to order. If you do not select a quickship pair, there will be a lead time. For mine, I had to wait about 2-3 months before mine finally arrived. Depending on the leather, it may take longer. My dad went with a special leather so his took about 6 months to arrive. In my opinion along with my dad's, the wait is well worth it! Visit their FAQ page if you have any other questions. nicks.gorgias.help/en-US
    Furthermore, a viewer has brought to my attention that the engineers specifically can't be rebuilt, sorry for my mistake.

    I am from Toronto Canada. How do i put in an application to buy a pair of Nicks boot?

      @thedapperdiary  6 месяцев назад

      Contact Nicks Boots: Start by getting in touch with them via their contact form or by calling their customer service. This initial step will help you begin the order and fitting process.
      Fit Sheet: Nicks Boots will provide you with a fit sheet. This is crucial for ensuring the boots are tailored to your feet's measurements.
      Measurements: You’ll need to take several measurements:
      Foot Tracing: Trace the outline of your feet. This helps in determining the correct last (the mold around which the boots are formed).
      Foot Length: Measure the length of your feet from heel to toe.
      Ball and Instep Circumference: Measure the circumference of the ball of your foot and the instep. It's advised to wear the socks you intend to use with the boots during these measurements to ensure accuracy.
      Assistance: It's recommended to have someone help you with the measurements to ensure they are accurate. If help is not available, take extra care to keep your feet flat and your body weight evenly distributed while measuring.
      Test Pair: Once your measurements are submitted, Nicks Boots often sends a test pair to confirm the fit. You can wear these and report back any adjustments needed before your final pair is crafted.
      *This is only if you need to to do the custom fitting, most people do not need to. I suggest just ordering a pre-made pair and ordering half size down from your sneaker size. They also offer one free return or exchange per order if it doesn't fit.

    If you read correctly when you order boots from Nicks it recommends you size down 1/2 size when ordering pull up boots. I received my nicks Pullman blk/roughout. They fit me perfectly. Don’t size down a whole size. Bad ass boots though. I like those 🤙🏼 When you described taking them off, I was hollering! 😂🤣🤣

    • @thedapperdiary
      @thedapperdiary  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah sizing a whole size down definitely contributes to why it is difficult to put on and take off. However when I was in store, sizing down a whole size just felt more secure, and once it is on my foot, it actually fits pretty well as long as my socks aren't too thick.

    Do you have a boot jack?

    • @thedapperdiary
      @thedapperdiary  2 месяца назад

      Yes, it does make it a little easier to take off, but it is still a struggle. Although I must say I don't use my boot jack much because the prongs are too narrow and they compress the boot's heel counter inwards. It is getting easier to take off the boot.

    The on and off should get easier after a few months. A good engineer boots takes a while to break in.

    • @thedapperdiary
      @thedapperdiary  8 месяцев назад

      Yes, that is very true. It has gotten easier over time, I'm sure if I wore it more, I would be able to break it in alot easier. Still, it is quite a workout to take off even now. Very excited for it to be fully broken in.

    • @strengthandbulkMadness
      @strengthandbulkMadness 8 месяцев назад

      I had engineer boots very hard getting on but could take them off easy. Maybe you sized down too much. Hopefully they break in more.

    Do yourself a favor and get a boot jack. It's mandatory for easily taking off pull-on boots

      Also long shoehorn, or even a folded plastic bag will help slip them on. Especially in the beginning break in.
