The Hidden Histories of San Antonio Texas Episode 4: The Airships of San Antonio, Texas 1921-1922

From 1921 to 1922, the United States Army's 1st Balloon Group was stationed at Brooks Field in San Antonio, Texas. While it was a small historical event, it left a big impact on the citizens of San Antonio, Texas. Many civilians of that era never saw an Airship until the 1st Balloon Group arrived. After the 1st Balloon Group left, so did the history of San Antonio's Airships. To this day, the San Antonio's Airships are a forgotten History that many San Antonians are unaware of. Also the year 2021 marks the 100th Anniversary of the 1st Balloon Group being stationed at San Antonio, Texas. Hopefully this video will bring a renewal interest in studying this hidden history of San Antonio, Texas.
