Do not be hard on yourself about that hat. It happens. You are doing great! Wow John Muir's great-great nephew. Amazing. Congratulations on 200 miles. WOW! that overgrowth is terrible. But the flowers are beautiful. Yes, Yes on that umbrella! Blessings and safe hiking.
Great idea to do the umbrella video! I used to laugh at hikers using umbrellas until I tried it. Now I wouldn't do a long hike without one. I am currently on a 1200 miler and I have been using it almost everyday.
We have so much been enjoying your videos....thank you Tracy for sharing them...I can't even imagine meeting John Muir's great great nephew...what an honor that must have been and he seemed so nice!
Wow, the great-great-nephew of John Muir. That’s cool. Another hiker from Germany was hiking in Scotland where the family was from and showed a monument to John and his father.
You are so smart to take the black mountain alternate. San Jacinto will be slushy up to your thigh. Not great to do, even with a group. The snow has really melted a lot over the last month. I follow a couple who were there in march and they did the same alternate. They had snow most of the trail down toward Cabazon which I guess was better than going over landslides cuz they had micro spikes and ice axes to stop their fall. So great this year with all the water sources. Tho at times it’s a curse when the trail is a river at times. Or the creek crossings are waist high and swift water. That descent from fuller ridge to cabazon is super intense. Take care of the knees. That desert is super hot so you are wise to stop to get nutrition and stay cool. Those umbrellas are a life saver in the sun.
I'm glad to see you back on the PCT this year. I watched all your videos from last year before we got on the trail this year. We've seen you on the trail this year but I didn't want to creep you out by saying HI. Enjoying your videos.
Awwww, I wish you would have said hello. I'm only creeped out by people that actively follow me up the trailheads for 75 miles without me knowing, haha. It's the behavior that matters. I hope your hike is going well and you've created special memories. Next time you see me, I'm expecting some conversation 😄🤗💕
Being from Canada I’ve seen enough snow to last me a lifetime, never want to see it again. You’re making very good and wise decisions and that will see you through. Jet and Skywalker are adorable, I hope you get to spend more time with them. You’re flying high Condor, bravo. 🙏🏻🥰
Keep San Jacinto in mind...I need to come back for PVC to Black Mtn Alternate at the end. I was thinking of doing that SOBO as it would be a bit less climbing. Just putting a bug in your ear if you want to section that with me in Oct.
Great decision making. Really helpful about the umbrella. Never thought to use it bc of the weight. I’ll rethink that when I come through that area. Hike on!
Beautiful day. Snow training, lol. I hope the PCT fixes the area of the trail that is like walking on an intense slope. Sorry about the knees. Keep trekking. 😀
So much water on trail, it really demonstrates the need for a good snow year. Happy to read your knee pain has subsided, your going to finish the trail this year!
Hi Tracy, I'm from California and I'm really interested in your hike and I know how unforgiving the desert is... I just realized that you. It was a few months ago that you went through there. I can't imagine how treacherous those mountains are... I really would love to do something like that and I'm learning a lot from you. Keep up the good work and be safe! Btw I would totally bring an umbrella.
Thank you for following along with me on my journey. If I can do this, anyone can. There is a learning curve with the gear but other than that, start doing short section hikes and discovering what footwear, clothes, pack, your physical condition and how you respond to the exertion, etc, work best for you... and how you like it all. Those little hikes really teach a lot. 🤗💕
We camped by there after dark and left early so no visiting there this year. I did last year though and was very appreciative of the food and drinks. They were great people!! 💕
You are doing awesome I’m enjoying your videos. How did you get across that sandy slope that had no trail I’ve seen other hikers and it was very sketchy. They’ve all crossed a different way sitting down kind of like rolling over so how did you get across and I hope they fix it if I ever plan to go that far, thank you for showing the parts that are sketchy a lot of people don’t put them on. Stay safe👍👍
Good plan to come back for Mt San Jac, it isnt going anywhere. The altitude up there is a big part of the difficulty after a day of rest. I love hiking in TN, but I do miss Idy! WOW what a treat to meet one of John Muir's family! Go Tracy Go Tracy GO!
I'm through the desert and in transition to travel up North to continue. So yes, I'm off the trail at the moment, but not 'off' the trail. Thanks for checking in 🤗💕
Treat Yourself!
Thank you so much!! I will put it to good use. You are so kind 🥺🙏🙏🙏💕😇
Wish I could give you lots of thumbs up, you make great videos. I've watched since your first attempt at the PCT.
🤗💕💕💕

Awwww thank you! It was such a surprise to meet him way out there. And he was such a sweet and kind person 💕😇
Wow! A real live relative of John Muir. That right there is worth all the prep work, etc that you've done to hike this year. Hike On!
Wow. I have never seen any water on that downhill section. What an amazing thing to experience.
Beautiful views. great idea to go to In-n-Out on a hot day!

It was such an honor and he was such a great guy. So kind and giving! 💕🤗

Thank you Anita! I am not a fan of the snow. Can't escape it this year either. 🤗💕
Awesome! What an amazing meeting with a Muir! So cool.👏👏 So beautiful! I can't wait to do Section B next year.🌻💛
It was an amazing honor to meet him. Great humble and kind person. Section B is waiting for you!!! And hopefully less snowy next year 💪🤗💕
@TikiBirdTracy maybe this Fall 😁, gotta figure out the water carries at that time of year.
Nice!!!! 🙏

@@TikiBirdTracy Would really like to see your potential video on uses for the umbrella. I always carry one!

Great video. A good taste of the reality of hiking the PCT.
Thank you! 💕🤗
I would be so scared of snakes cowboy camping! Congratulations on 200 plus miles! You're doing great!
Thank you!
Hope you visited the Wind Farm Office…great trail magic!!!

You almost made me nervous for a minute talking about your knee till I read the text that it got better.
I didn't want people to worry. It's been intermittent but not a hike buster. Thank you! 💕🤗
Where are you Tiki? Did you go off trail? Or? Hope all is well. Cheers!

Like the intro music
What is thst?
Honestly, I don’t remember now. I deleted the track accidentally and can no longer find it. But it was copyright free music off RUclips.
