This SEBI Order will lower NSE Trading Charges for Retail Traders

- Last year, we did a video on how NSE and Stockbrokers have a revenue-sharing partnership on the NSE Transaction charges.
These charges are levied on retail traders across the segments. NSE shares a sizable percent, as much as 40%, of its revenue with Stockbrokers.
In fact, last year NSE shared as much as INR 500 to 1000 Crores with stockbrokers as per a report.
But Today, this setting stands to be cancelled.
SEBI has directed NSE to stop this partnership and revenue sharing with brokers.
NSE must levy true charges and take the whole amount from the broker from 1st October, 2024.
NSE has also been told to reduce these transaction charges for the benefit of retail traders.
However, there could be repercussions.
Brokers stand losing out the revenue part that they used to make with this partnership.
There is a possibility that discount or low brokerage brokers lose out on the revenue.

Everyone know what is the major cost of a trader is STT. Government should consider remove the STT because at the end, broker also want to earn profit. if transaction charges was removed that will receive from the NSE or BSE, they increase the broker to increase their pricing and at the end, retail trade also more suffer because they even pay higher GST in this situation. I think only the solution is to remove the government tax as possible as like, remove stamp duty, STT and other

It's applicable to all the exchanges, not only NSE
There should be a single charge for transaction and no additional charges like STT and GST.
I don't care about STT & brokerage charges. just want to increase leverage from 5x to 50x.

There is another injustice happening with traders ..
as you know NSE decreases lot size for Nifty and bank nifty to half, that means for the same amount of trade as before, brokers are earning double brokerage...
none of the brokers reduced the brokerage on account of this ..
I think SEBI should take some initiative for this

the main culprit is STT.. that has the biggest share in charges/taxes. it should be reduced. rest all charges are just too miniscule infront of it.

government always messes up, doesn't really benefit but harm customers. same thing happened with dth. most people were using dth under 100 a month, and then government introduced new rule which increased to min 300 a month

Retail trade is now walking on thin ice as the charges will be reduced from NSE but broker will increase there brokerage hence we have to be paying almost same amount in some odd case we will will be paying even more. Sebi and nse is trying to strangle retail trade from both ends.

It will affect zero/ discount brokerage brokers. So they will now charges from customers. There is no difference for retail traders. Govt. Is not thinking for retail traders. Rather they want more tax on everything

How will retail trader benefit ? broker will take it from retailer only by re-introducing per lot charges than per order, in the end paying current charges will be far far beneficial than the new norm.

Man this SEBI and FM of India have gone nuts. Is trading only the area where they want to concentrate. It's our taxed money and we should have all right to do whatever we want to do with it.
We pay so much taxes and what these people are doing good with it. We still see substandard roads. Cost of education in metropolitan cities is high. Cost of hospitalization is high. Why don't they improve these areas which is essential for living. Instead spend all time and energy to not allow retailers to trade.
