I just hope you realise: you guys were meant to go missing that night. None of this was a coincidence. The guy talking to you was definitely a set up, and the way he sent you to where all the missing people milk cartons were is just some nice serial killer foreshadowing. There also could have been people waiting inside to get you. And he had positioned himself purposefully at the stop sign. If you look closely and slow it down on the original video, you can see him throw something across the road and hold something in his other hand. That could have been a bomb and a detonator, or something to stop the car and a gun/knife. Either way, it's likely that the plan was for you to stop at the sign, then the other people would probably come out and you would become a group of missing people. And the whistling? My dad works in the police force, and he said that they were probably whistling to communicate - give signals of when to do things, help the others know where they are. Plus, as

He becomes more perceptive to his surroundings, (ex. he's the only one who noticed that car who was waiting for them).
Other people when in panic, just turn on their flight response and run without even thinking.
The whistling is probably the people that were following you communicating and signalling where each other was.
I was thinking the same thing cause Elton said that every mile they drove there was a whistle and the whistle could've been an alert to the other people. There couldn't have been just two people if it was every mile

Its probably both. Hit list and trophy wall. The whole setup was gang style too. They were led into their turf and chased. It doesnt take much to end up on some blood thirsty mfkrs hit list.
These guys might have stumbled close to gang turf where something went down in a recent video. Im thinking when u heard ppl and theres tons of graffiti, signs of ppl sleeping there etc. They might be worried of exposure which could be why they brought you to their turf and stalked you. Always watch for the kind of activity that you noticed here and be ready to run before they close in. You'll be fine as long as your aware. Consider a survival knife in case you ever get stuck.
I watched the original video and I was most intrigued by the guy at the stop sign. I agree with the idea that by stopping at the stop sign, the man could have had about three seconds to pull out a gun and shoot at least once. Even more, if you all got confused and stopped for a couple seconds longer to see what the hell he was doing. But I saw that there was a flash of light in his hands when I slowed down the video. He was probably holding a knife. That was my initial theory until I saw, slowing down the video to .25, that he had thrown something across the road. Maybe it was a bomb, and he had a detonator in his hand. Or he had thrown something that could've stopped your car or busted a tire and leaving your guys helpless and stuck, giving the man full chance to attack. Whatever it was, that man was armed, and it was lucky you were in a "fuck it" mode that night.

The bomb portion is highly unlikely but I agree completely, if you are talking in the most extreme cases. in all honesty it was probably set up to scare them cause who honestly stops at a stop sign, if initially freaked out and it being 3-4 in the morning. if the guy who came up to them originally was apart of it he would have known about the state they were in considering the way they were talking. and I don’t think they would have tried to rob them either because of where it was and the time as well. But I could be wrong too, they might of been after the cameras and car....
