The resistance in this case where it’s hardest is in the stretched position
For hypertrophy, it's suboptimal, but for most sports where rarely one goes to super flexed positions, it could be good. It feels like a sled leg press machine with inverted resistance curve and more movement depth.
Pendulum squats are brutal
This is scientifically the worst force curve
