Have read and liked most of his books, but why did he have to inject his politics into this one? Comparing Jan. 6 to the civil war is asinine, and capitalizing black but not white is obnoxious.
The January 6th criminals insisted on comparing themselves to the Confederates, literally carrying the Stars and Bars through the Capitol that day. Like the Confederates, they were--and are--White supremacist racists, much like their Orange fuhrer.
Boy, I must say I enjoyed your podcast with Doug Brunt so much more than this one!!!! This one went sideways quickly, so I won’t be seeking it out anymore!! One would think with your background, you would be more willing to try to understand what is REALLY happening in our country right now, not just what is coming from the media. This interview made me quite sad!! I agree with your opinions about the Civil War, but your trying to draw parallels is WAY OFF!!!! #ErikLarson
Great writer, great interview, fascinating topic that is massively relevant to America today.
I found this to be a riveting, down to earth interview. I agree with parallels to today. I will be buying and recommending this book.

I do not get why it is politically incorrect to use the terms Master and Slave.
No need to disrespect Texas like that.

Jan 6 and civil war are both attempts to overthrow the gummymint ya dummy. Very clearly similar.

Wrong: the parallels between the pre-Civil War era and White supremacist treason today are obvious to any unbiased observer.
