It’s 2021 and I’m only getting to know this beautiful lady after her passing. She had the most amazing voice, I could listen to her sing forever. Her speaking voice was lovely too. I’m sorry I missed you Nell maybe we’ll meet the next time around?
I love nell carter so much shes a georgous beautiful sexy lovely queen shes my big time crush shes my favorite im a very big huge fan i love you so much nell always and forever
I'm still watching "gimme a break" mon - fri ..still love it.!.I dont start dinner till the back to back hour long show is over..lol!..just absolutely adore her!♥️♥️
An extraordinary talent that is greatly missed. I was privileged to see her perform live at the Hollywood Bowl. When she sang I remembered getting goosebumps, she touched a raw nerve. Sheer electricity! Her life story was tragic, yet she rose to stardom Inspite of. Love and miss you Ms Carter rest in peace.
I was fortunate enough to see her in "Ain't Misbehavin" when it first opened on Broadway in 1978. I lived only blocks from Times Square. I had heard about it on the radio from an interview with Maurice Waller (Fats' son). I knew I had to go see it. I was BLOWN AWAY and had to go back and see it again. I was instantly in love with Nell Carter. And that was before this interview or "Gimme A Break". Her voice is unforgettable and unmistakeable.
I pray to God that I meet this lovely, classy, and very very unique woman in the heavenly realm when I'm gone because Nell Carter was a force!!! I wish like hell that I could have met her, kissed her on her sweet face and embraced her in my arms just for a moment... I love you so so much Nell Carter. Forever.
I love Nell so much, just hearing her speak and her appreciation of the art that she is performing, just to see her humble like a fan as well speaks volumes about her. This is a great interview, Nell was so absorbing in her spirit, her ability and her talent. I will never be able to say enough about her and how good she made me feel. Thank you Nell:)
This musical Nell Carter is speaking about is "Black Broadway" which never made it to Broadway. It ties to African American performers back in the 1910's, 1920's, and 1930's. She was brilliant. Rip sweet lady.
I GREW UP WITH THIS SHOW I REMEMBER IN. IN 84 BEING 13 AND WATCHING WITH MY FAMILY WHEN THE CHIEF DIED WE CRIED SO HARD😔 WHEN WE HAD REAL TALENTED PEOPLE IN MUSIC TV AND FILM NOW THE KIDS HAVE THE KARTRASHIANS AND JUSTIN BIEBER AND SELENA GOMEZ JLO THANK YOU GOD I WAS BORN IN 1972 WHEN TALENTED PEOPLE IN ENTERTAINMENT WAS THE NORMAL RIP BUEATIFUL LADY NELL AND DOLF SWEET🙏
Omg, all these folks in the comments section acting so "surprised" that she smoked cigarettes. Ok. She smoked & had a drug addiction. Get over it. This is about her TALENT & WHAT SHE CONTRIBUTED TO THE INDUSTRY.
Knew she smoked cigarettes. Also, she was high here too. Had been drinking. She's sweating and talking a lot. It's her life and I believe she was a beautiful woman! I'm not perfect.
Apparently your mom was high asf during and after your conception which would explain the person that you are today. If that were Janice Dickenson sitting there loaded, I GUARANTEE she wouldn't be considered "high asf" to YOU. Its always the miserable folks who are determine to spread their unhappiness....😂🤣 Don't bother replying. You're muted in advance.
