This week in The Lab LA we had a takeover courtesy of Anjunabeats, featuring Ilan Bluestone, Jason Ross and Genix.
Anjunabeats (the counterpart to the deep house label Anjunadeep) is the imprint that has been leading the way for emerging trance and progressive artists for over a decade, thanks to its founders and genre-masters Above & Beyond.
London-based Ilan Bluestone is one of Anjuna's fastest rising stars and the DJ responsible for the most recent 'Anjunabeats Worldwide' mix compilation. His releases have earned him support from trance-legends such as Tiesto, Gareth Emery and Myon & Shane 54. Alongside him in The Lab will be LA-rooted DJ Jason Ross and UK-bred artist Genix.

I have absolutely nothing to argue! All 3 of them are my favorite producers in the past 1-2 years, and their music to me is just the best thing you can hear in the genre of trance and it's subgenres. All of them respect Anjunabeats sound and represent it in its purest, most melodic and most energetic form. So for me it's 2 hours of pure 100% music. In combination with the setting sun over LA ... perfection! :)
+Tomáš Novotný Saw Ilan Bluestone live in Portland a few weeks back. I have been to a few shows by Anjunabeats artists, and they are always amazing.
Ilan's live show was one of the best of my life, and I've been to quite a few of them at this point.
+Tomáš Novotný Caught a Genix show in Sydney earlier this month and trust me, that magic was there as well.
Anjunabeats is the best label out there, so much energy, great work ethic from all the artists and most importantly non-stop quality music:

+Alex Gærtner As far as melodic or progressive electronic music, yeah Anjunabeats beats out any other 2 labels put together.
As far as your list...? In terms of absolute quality per release, Audien may be about the best out there.
Ilan's production is clean, but I've almost never gotten into any of his tracks (other than Spheres or his collaborations with Jerome Isma-Ae). Let me be clear - I love Ilan. I gained huge respect for him watchin him live in Portland a few months back. The best local progressive EDM show I've ever seen.
Jason Ross is amazing, but still brand new on the scene. As far as Genix - I have no disagreements. You might also want to toss Sunny Lax or Joonas Hahmo on that list (though Joonas has his own label now).
+Alex Gærtner That list is the reason you're a legend. Although I'd put Jason Ross first (currently my fav producer) because Atlas, Cairo, and Frontier are the best fucking tracks in existence.

trance is one genre where the artists will never be criticized for lacking talent. they'll never make huge hits and some even say the genres dying out, but they'll never be criticized for being bad dj's/producers. its like the high quality side of electronic music..

+redsharpiemarker I actually think this stuff is more deep progressive house. Real trance sound is much more uncommon these days. That type of music usually runs more like 135-140 BPM and the tracks tend to be much longer and more atmospheric.

This is absolutely awesome from the start to the end absolutely love the setting and the reason why the crowd is behaving differently is cause this isnt a nightclub or a festival arena THIS IS A STUDIO!! and there are just a few people who are obviously very lucky to be there and its more to watch the DJ'S play and have alittle boogie and nothing more cause this isnt a venue there isnt a dancefloor and i would imagine there isnt a bar cause cant see anyone drinking alchohol anyway Jason Ross who ive not really heard of was awesome loved his selection of tunes and then Ilan Bluestone when you thought it couldnt get any better he takes it to another level he is awesome is it possible for someone to put the whole tracklist start to finish up i know alot of the tunes and have shazamed a few and tracks Ilan Bluestone Spheres and Ilan Blueston & Jerome Isma Ae - Tension are just absolute bangers of tunes TRANCE MUSIC FOREVER!!!!!!!!

There's another great set with Ilan & Grum playing at the Anjunakitchen you gotta check out. Same deal though...so chill being at a co-working office that most just headnod while working, some non-fans even leave!! I'd rage out, but it's just a diff. environment...sit back, knock out some work, & love the beauty of the tunes...which, thanks to the YT uploads I can also do from my laptop. Seriously though, that set is cool as hell too.
Not sure what you could do in such a tiny room, with other people next to you. The room is obviously not for going "mental"

Great music but i don't think the knob twiddling is really necessary, i noticed that the position markings on the knobs remained the same 90% of the time.
