Me too! for everyone else: Grant Nelson: "Back in 1998 myself & Norris 'da boss' Windross dropped a cover of the Patti Day classic 'Right Before My Eyes' featuring the vocal talents of Kallaghan. It went out and became a bit of an anthem in the clubs so we decided to give it a re-rub. We brought in MC Neat to drop some bars on it and the remix was released in 2000. This time around it ended up entering the UK national charts at number 12 and lead to the one and only time I ever appeared on Top Of The Pops - exciting times! We starting planning our performance. Obviously Kallaghan & Neat would be front of stage with the dancers but neither of us wanted to prance around pretending to play keyboards so we came up with what we thought was a pretty cool idea. We would completely ignore everything going on around us and sit at a poker table, playing cards and drinking whiskey while smoking cigars like a pair of absolute dons! We turned up at the TV studios for the recording and as we began running down our vision with the stage manager we ran into a few problems. We couldn't smoke cigars for health & safety reasons, we also couldn't even hold unlit cigars as smoking sets a bad example for the kids. Whiskey or anything that looked like alcohol was also a no go for the same reason and health and safety regulations meant that we couldn't take glasses on to the stage either. Playing cards were a problem too as they didn't want to promote gambling and so the poker table was also out of the question. Long story short - Kallaghan looked amazing and did her thing like a pro as did Neat (both peforming live vocals - which was a struggle too as the BBC didn't like the idea of that either, it was all about miming back then) and the dancers rocked it painted head to toe in silver paint. We on the other other hand sat behind them all, like naughty school children that had been sent to back of the class, in a pair of crappy chairs that the BBC had lying around the props department, simply staring into space for 3 and a half minutes." LOL
Grant Nelsons FB post brought me here! 😆
