Excellent tuto! I 've never used that enveloppe tool. I do not have AI anymore because I can't afford it anylonger, but I keep watching tutos so that I do not forget all we can do with it by the time I can use it again.

Hi Pauline, You might check out your local library. Some libraries have Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop on PCs or Macs that you can use. Usually, the library requires you to sign up and reserve a block of time, but at least it will allow you to stay current. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that your local library does have the Adobe software available. :)
You always provide such good tutorials. Coincidentally, I think this might help me with a small project that I'm working on for an invitation for an author talk. I was only provided with a .jpg of the book cover, but I wanted to make it look more like a book with it's backbone and partially opened with some pages. I tried using the warps that are provided but never thought about the mesh tool. I picked up the side colors of the book using the gradient tool. I got something that looked OK, but I thought it was clumsy and I had a hard time making it align nicely with the .jpg. I'm going to play around with the different suggestions that you provided in this tutorial. Also, one of the things that I appreciate is how organized you keep your layers. I get so carried away with my design, that my layers become a mess. Last, I never thought about using the layers panel to help me ungroup an expanded object and make sure that everything is truly ungrouped. Thanks so much for creating and sharing these tutorials.

I try my best to upload and create videos that will help other graphic designers and artist with not only their work deadlines, but personal projects as well. There is an abundance of tools that are featured in Adobe Suite and it can take some time to understand (and remember haha) all the tools and what they are used for. With Illustrator, the saying is true, "practice makes perfect!" Keeping the layers organized is vital when creating projects. With Illustrator, "working smarter, not harder" is my motto! I truly enjoy recording these tutorials and love the feedback I receive. Best of luck with your project! And thank you for your continued support for my channel.
Hmmm. That’s a little confusing. I wonder what’s happening here. The shapes should not overlap. If you’re still having difficulties You can send me the file with the transform effect applied to the shapes so I can see what your settings are. I might be able to work out what’s going wrong for you. My email is Helen@helenbradley.com.

I tried this out, but when I used Effect/Transform transform, my copies overlapped the original.
