Bro this tutorial is cool, unluckily this can work exclusively with certain sounds, if you take some hats or some perc you have probably you can’t do this, but anyway with real good sounds you can take it
I'm not even trying to make DnB. I'm just trying to learn Logic. And this was still a fantastic tutorial to show a lot of the basics that most other tutorials I've watched just skim over or ignore completely. 5 stars.
They certainly have remnants of tops in them. Try yourself adding a hat on top of the kick pattern for sure if its not quite working. Video on the perc specifically coming later this month.
This is actually something I’ve really been struggling with lately. I’ve been trying to deconstruct squarepusher, Roni Size and Goldie and not really getting the results I wanted. Thank you so much!
Ah someone else wanted to break down "Brown paper bag" However i immediately got a take down notice for it.... So what im planning is some "in the style of" type videos. Just the take MAD time to put together an i have to put paid projects in priority. But im trying 🙏
Thanks! If you found this helpful then this video is probably right up your street - DnB Basslines EXPLAINED! Make MASSIVE Drum and Bass Basslines! ruclips.net/video/_4SgSaiuMlA/видео.html
Thanks. Seems like my problem is I’ve been trying too hard to build everything from scratch and should just be using a ‘shuffle’ as a single hit sample
If you’re struggling and getting lost in the details, coming to frustration. Absolutely. Otherwise the percussion video may help - ruclips.net/video/Mr1yP6ygXR0/видео.html
If I inspire people to create anything then that’s a win. I’ve fully stuck with the 900 Pro X since I got them. Used them for about 2 years so. Am I don’t reach for anything else unless I specifically need my closed back for some VO recording with reference
@@Unders awesome, earned a sub from me :) Nice, I'm planning on getting some for a nice in the middle solution when I want to see how a mix translates in the middle. Already got ATH M50x for closed mixing and Adam T7v monitors for the bulk of the work but the 900s will fill in a nice middle ground I think
I think I showed how that works back in this tutorial - How to make easy chords and melodies in logic pro x ruclips.net/video/rv2ed0W_M28/видео.html You might also really like this option if you want to have it step sequenced. ruclips.net/video/redLJ0_1sSc/видео.html
made a video for later this month, Breaking down the shuffles etc in more detail. So if you dont have something that works instantly, You can construct it.
Nice video, well explained with very useful details, but would definitely mention that these hits are layered and already come from a break so the sounds match each other sonically, trying to reproduce this with single drum hits will not render the same results! For any viewers who would really like to reproduce this vibe and just not getting that vibe, you'd be best off chopping up a break and using the hits from that break so that all the hits gel together well. I'm pretty sure the same was done here, using a break from the BCee Drum & Bass sample pack.
@@Unders I don’t think I did miss the point, and I even see you made an extra video on how to make your own “shuffles”, so respect to you! Just clarifying that if you do chop up a break and use that to make your own beat, each hit will sound much more consistent, so it’s not necessarily about “picking the right 4 hits” but more about taking them from the same break so your beat would sound uniform, as it does in this tutorial. Search your feelings, and you know it to be true 😜
That's a very common sequence, ngl 😂 But if it works, it works Now knowing some step that can be taken to build a dnb beat, It'll probably go smoother to make some beats
man, maybe I'm stupid but I have no idea what a shuffle is, I'm getting crazy looking for it and finding nothing, can anyone tell me what kind of a sound is it?
I was thinking the same exact thing. I tried making a similar rhythm to the one in the tutorial but it was missing that shuffle element and it honestly did not sound that good. There is so much subtlety in these sounds that I think I need to dedicate a great deal of time understanding the individual types of percussion and the sounds they can make. Don't feel alone!
hi mate, how do you have the all individual drum sounds on the same piano roll midi? im struggling in figuring out how to use audio samples from loopcloud and put them into the piano roll, any help would be greatly appreciated mate :)

Made me smile with how simple you made it look.. 👍
it is that simple though. Too many people making it way over complicated :)
@@Unders can you plz try to explain how u make the kick and snare sound coherent? is it because of the hat they are layered with?
They certainly have remnants of tops in them. Try yourself adding a hat on top of the kick pattern for sure if its not quite working. Video on the perc specifically coming later this month.
@@y.vana.9223they sound coherent because all the samples are taken from the same original drum break

How do I make my own shuffle? With midi
will do a percussion video that covers some easy ways, But many packs you will find "shuffles" in that you could emulate.

I wish you would have just put a download up for the drum one shots you have 😊
That doesn’t teach or inspire any creativity though.
I don’t understand this. My kicks are on bar 1 and 6 and my snare on 3 and 7 in GarageBand beat sequencer at 176 bpms
Beat not bar. And DnB 99.9% of the time is in 4/4 so there is no 6 or 7
Where do I get these sounds from though?
