Thanks Steve. I think it will work for most things on your 2017 model, however that function might need to be changed with a more capable software to code the car. If you own a PC laptop you will want to look into a cable/cd of BMW ISTA
hi mate, will this tool scan a 2001 bmw e39 touring 525d?. i have a problem with my rear air suspension, i have a dash warning light on for the self levelling rear suspension, i changed both rear air bags as they were old anyway, i then changed the suspensions compressor valve block as when i put it under water it had a tiny air leak, i also changed 1 rear level sensor as the arm was broken- but after all that i still have the suspension self levelling warning light on the dash!!!....do you know, will this scanner scan rear air suspension on a 2001 e39 touring 525d ?. do u know if it will turn off the dash warning light??. will the scan tool re calibrate the rear air suspension or read only, any help/advise apppreciated-many thx dave in cold uk....
Hello can u please help. I bought this but am new at using it..I have a CODE CD99..what does that mean? also, i have 3 CAS module codes CAS AOBE, CAS AOBF, AND CAS AOCO.
And another CODE says CDA6 electrical fuel pump..does it mean the Fuel PUMP or Fuel MODULE or relay is bad??

Im trying to find a scanner that works with my older bmws with the 20 pin adapter under the hood ,as well as, my 2003 M3 for general maintenance and such ,but esp Airbag and all other modules scanning and resetting codes. With the 20 pin adapter will this scan tool (Creator C310) work with my 1991 325i,1993 525i,1994 325i that all have the old pre OBD systems? It will most likely work with my 2003 M3 ,I assume.

i updated the software of my creator c100 from software V4.6 to V6.1 and it seems to be that the newer version is not working as the old one did, it just reads no stop ad no user commands and it never read from the obd2 but read from the round 20 pin plug in the engine compartment. i am thinking that i may have messed up in upgrading the software it use to work on my 2010 x3 from OBD2, but on my 2000 Z3 it worked on the 20 pins only.
3:20...plenty of free apps as well if you are just looking to see some error codes and then clear them.
Hi. I have a Creator C310+ with version v10.9 software. Having visited their website, I downloaded v11.7 in the form of a RAR, which my MacBook unzipped to reveal a .bin file. I can't get beyond this stage in order to update the Creator's software. Do you have any suggestions on how I might proceed? Thanks for any tips you can provide.
You cannot run a .bin file on Mac. Switch to a windows computer it will work. Or try to find a Mac compatible softwate.

What scan tool would be recommended for older BMW's?
We recently purchased a 1998 BMW Z3 Roadster. Considering the dated technology and advancements in vehicle computer control and sensing units, which scanner would you recommend with capabilities to read and reset basically all of the vehicle codes we may come across?
I use a Creator on my wife's '98 540i and daughters 523i. it works great.

Because in some sites say yes and others no. I read the manual, talk in e36 but is not especified about diesel.

Sílvio Diniz yes this will work, it is obd-ii however you may have one of those round ports under the hood for other systems since it’s an early model.
@@BIMMERZEITT Yes my car have a round port "20 pin" and they are diesel. In many places, include a SZcreator don't present your compatible with my car.
Then i will purchase one creator 310+ and adapter cable odb-ii to 20 pin.

Will this scanner identify the location of a bad speed sensor? A generic scanner is pulling a 0500 speed sensor A but doesn't give the location of the failed sensor.
I was able to pull up live data with the last scanner. Gave me speed of all speed sensors.
Can the C310 do an adaptive reset for the transfer case fluid change on an X3? If not, is there a tool that can do it for around $50?
Hi did you ever find a tool that could reset or re-calibrate the transfer case for your bmw? If so which one and how much did it cost?
@smokedoutog6398 Nope, just had a BMW shop do it. They actually said it wasn't necessary. I sold the X3 a few years ago and got a Subaru. Much happier. The X3 was breaking something once a month.

Hi BIMMER ZEIT! I use the C310 on my BMW X5, the software version programmed on this did not detect my X5 or any codes. Luckily the company provides older software versions that can programmed onto the device. The older version doesn't seem to give me the P codes, just the BMW numeric codes. Do you experience this on your X5? Mine is a 2004. Thanks!
Hey! Yeah you don’t want P codes anyway, the BMW codes are more accurate and specific. I have a $20 pocket scan tool if I want P codes... I guess you’d need 2 tools if you need those.

I have this, and it is unable to connect to the ABS on my E36. Same on my dads car which is a newer model.
Maybe its a sign the ABS box is just broke. But impossible to know 100% what is going on.
Jakob Stengård hi, you need a round port adapter for the early e36. What model and year is your dads car? This scan tool may not be best for early model cars
Which area in the 310 displays the catalyst monitor readiness?
Is there any scan tool or code tool (dunno what those call) that can let me switch my E39 key to unlock all 4 doors at one click on the key fob instead of double click? Do I have to go to dealer?

JOHN HAYDU John I use this on my 328i and 335i as well. Make sure the connector is plugged in all the way, put your key in and push the start button (with your foot OFF the brake) so the ignition is on but the car is off. It should boot up. If not, it’s possible you just received a bad scan tool. It could happen. Return and reorder

Hi, will it cycle the abs and recalibrate the steering angle sensor? Thanks!
The dreaded DSC light came on today on my E39, plug into a generic scan tool - it reveals an error code "68 DSC steering angle sensor internal". Does this cool Creator C310 initialise and reset the steering angle sensor and hopefully clear the code? I just wanted to confirm the sensor has gone bad prior to replacing it.
Its a sensor, all it does is sense. No initialising, no resetting. The c310 will clear the code in the ecu memory, if the code comes back after this then the sensor is bad, or the sensor is doing its job and something actually is faulty

Great video. Do you think this will work with my 2015 550i? Based another youtube recommendation, I purchased a TopDon Plus and it came back with "no fault codes found" when my CEL came on. I had to go to the dealer to get the codes read - for $200 bucks!! I should've done more research because I've been hearing that BMWs don't work well with Generic code readers. Thoughts?
Daniel Lavoie hey Daniel, a generic obdii reader for $20-30 will pull engine trouble codes on your bmw. But you want something like this to be able to see all of the deeper stuff going on like abs, transmission, stored codes, freeze frame data, airbag and safety systems. I have not tried this on anything newer than 2008 so I would say buy from Amazon and try it. If it doesn’t work out amazon will back you for a free return.

I don't believe it can. You will need ISTA or INPA with an OBDII cable + PC laptop. Something like this: ebay.us/MeMeW7

Robert Cullerton yes it should. It’s quite good for $55-65. Each corner will show a different code.

When you erase a code, does that fix the issue or does it just remove the code?
Serdar Caglayan the code is there to let you know what to repair or where to begin diagnosis. If you simply delete the code without performing the repair, the code will likely come right back sometimes instantly, sometimes within 5, 20, 50 or 100 miles.

hey Carlos, this will not code it to your car. I would recommend having your ABS module rebuilt instead of replacement. Rebuild your current module to avoid the need to code a new unit, see the rebuild here: ebay.to/2mjIKYG

I need a tool to reprogram a replacement, i think i need to recalibrate the steering wheel sensor. Need to name of the tool, im dieing to get my hands on a decent priced unit. Do you know of any ?

I have this car and this tool is unable to connect to the abs.
Before I buy, I want to make sure I have the correct one. My car is a 2013 BMW X3 28i. My engine sometimes stops by itself after stopping at a stoplight. I took the car to the BMW dealership and they charged me $425...but the problem persists.
Antonio what was the trouble code they found for your car? You may have recourse if the issue was not resolved, I would bring back to the dealer and speak to the supervisor of the service advisors.
@@BIMMERZEITT Well, They told me that my car have back the a "weak battery", so they change it for over $400. The problem came back again after a long drive 1 1/2 months later. If I put my cellphone or GPS on the USB connector, by the end of the drive, if I stop at any stop sign, the car shuts down and turn on again when I press the gas pedal. The problem is that the car starts weakly and shuts down completely in the middle of the intersection. I have to put the car on parking mode and press the ignition again. I'm not taking my car back to the BMW dealer because I think it was a rip-off back then.
Antonio L. Rivera it sounds legitimate that the battery was weak and was a good place to start considering your x3 is going on 7 years old (assuming battery is also that age). Is your service engine soon light illuminated on the dashboard? If not a scan may turn up shadow codes related to your issue

@@mikeymagic117 I know that the car is designed to shut down when you stop the car at a stop sign or intersection to avoid unnecessary idle and gas waste. The problem is that if I use a GPS or cellphone on a charger, it seams to drain the battery after a longer drive. The problem is that I after I turn the engine again by pressing the gas pedal and start to move, by the middle of an intersection the car shuts down itself. I have to put the car on parking and start the engine again while other cars behind me sound the horn on me. I'm afraid to be hit by another car from behind or if somebody don't stop at a red light while I'm on my right of way...you know the rest. How do I found the camshaft sensor that you mentioned?
Bought Creator C310 but unable to use it because the menu is Chinese language.

yes, but not all scan tools will access the ABS/ Brake/ Transmission systems. The C310 linked here will!
I have the C310. But i dont use it anymore, Carly app does everything, it's faster, you can code stuff. It's 10 times better. And it costs 50$ + K-D CAN cable 15$.
I have heard of it, and INPA, but we have apple computers so I'd need to spend at least $2-300 on a windows laptop as well
Carly app runs on android or iOS. i strongly recommend to try it, it's awesome!
Problem with Carly is that you have to buy the Carly Bluetooth scanner, then you have to purchase de anually subscription for the app, ot's no longer a "1-time pay".
Jose Mario Jiménez Alfaro you buy the app once, there is no anually subscription. And i use it with a 10$ K-Dcan cable, not the original bluetooth adapter, and it work perfect.

Does the Creator 310+ diagnosis things like faulty control arm, bushings, tie rod, sway bar, etc??
there are no sensors associated with those parts so no scan tool will diagnose those things. Suspension failures are usually inspected visually, not with a computer

And their user manual is not that descriptive!
