I love this... So many of the other Horse Stance videos show you just the stance itself-but not how to develop the strength and flexibility to hold it. Thank you so much!
Thank you for your training! As a girl, I find you especially inspiring as I learn from you and practice. I really appreciate the warm ups and strength training to improve as the student makes improvement....thanks so much!
This exercises are truly a gift. Thank you and GOD Bless you Jade !

Now this is quality wu shu. Tried so hard to promote it during my teaching days...... Good to see this Hope it grows. You should train... open a school or something.
As a martial artist and exercise science major, this is like a double-scoop of fun for me. Though I study karate, I can definitely use this in my training and teaching.
Thing i love about jade is even though shes a damn fine martial artist, shes also a damn fine human being, a true warrior if there ever was 1. In the unlikely event if jade reading this, jade much respect though i dont do wu shu im a muay thai guy myself your videos on pre training stretching have given me much higher kicks and thanks to your easy to understand tutorials i do a pretty mean flying front kick so thanks jade 😊😊☺☺
How lovely to hear you speak Jade. Thanks for this tutorial. We use much of the same moves in the Physical Therapy clinic I work in, when rehabbing dancers. Love your stuff.
Please make more tutorials. All levels appreciate it. In these special circumstances most people can only train from home. ☺️ Start will all the basic stances please. 😋
The description is completely wrong with respects to how she does it though. Like literally nothing she does is what is written on screen. • Her feet are not “a bit” more than shoulder width apart. It’s more like double shoulder width. • Her feet are not parallel, they are pointing slightly but significantly outwards. • Her knees are not bent 90°, they are more like 60° (I measured). Her thighs are however parallel with the ground. Edit: Please note I’m not saying her stance is wrong (it’s excellent). I’m saying the description is wrong.
Jade Xu does not need anybody's approval to be a legitimate Laureate and a champion. She earned it through hard work. So, trying to police an imaginative wrong foot position is a deliberate way to downplay her wonderful attributes. Adrian Garcia, did you participate in the Olympic Games? I don't think so. Envy consumes you, don't spit your venom here.
Virginia I've trained with her in China and saw here when she was a child very impressive you would not last one minute in a Chinese martial art class traditional or contemporary you have no idea what real martial arts is and the best teachers I found were in the small villages and that was in the early eighties
Yes, Jade Xu! I'm loving all your tutorials! Using them as good examples for some youths that I assist in training. And for myself. In fact, I think I'm in love! :) Just please don't hurt me! ha ha
Happy Birthday to the Jade of Improvement , master of king fu, and princess of the dragon in knowing what it takes to be the best fighting artist in the world of Martial Arts. It's a great opportunity to be in the very special events that creates the fastest and most popular freestyle in the world. Represent from People's Republic of China. Jade Xu. HAPPY Chinese New Year's Birthday Anniversary and it’s great to have her on her way to be on her celebration.
Wow just awesome tutorials!! I have been fan of them :) I would like a tutorial request on exercises on how to do complete split. That's where I m weak.. I can't get my split full. Thanks
yes this can be done daily.Slowly at first,as in maybe 1-2 mins in the beginning. The important thing to remember is take your time, try not to rush anything.focus on form first
In Wushu, there are sequence movements that require the performer to hold there stance. This is also a good exercise to build up quad strength. Stance is easy to do, just watch the video.
Thanks for this. My horse stance (kiba dachi in my style) desperately needs work. Some of these exercises are going to be added to my workout routine one I am healed from surgery.
As far as Shaolin (external) arts are concerned the lower is arched like her back for horse stances or any symmetrical squat like posture of any width. The same holds true for doing squats with weights (power lifting) in a gym whether the feet are narrow or far apart. In a bow stance (non symmetrical stance), the opposite is true for the lower back. In a bow stance the LOWER back is more hunched than arched. Other styles may do horse posters differently than shaolin styles.
awesome video! Could you explain a little bit more about the Horse Stance? One Shoiln once explained it´s a basic exercise shown to kids to learn not to give up because that posture is very painful if untrained and hold on for a long time. I guess there is much more knowledge and benefits behind it!?
In Wushu class we do it like this: After arriving we are stretching Head to toe and Front split each side for 5 Minutes. So we are stretching cold for 20-25 Minutes. Then to consolidate our tendons we are doing 5 Minutes of MaBU. Then we practice basic stances ,then basic kicks and jump kicks. after all of that we do forms. i alwaysa feel good doing training ( and afterwards) and i havent get an injurie yet. For some reason i cant imagine me practicing like this at home ,because you always hear things like : You need always to do an general warm up ,otherwise you can injure youself. What do you think of this Practicing Method? in this case Mabu ( and switching Pu BU ) is the Warm Up ,also the Basic kicks are the Warm up. How does it sound for you?
hi jade, nice videos. i was just wondering because i have tendinitis in my knees. not full blown but i can hear and feel the tears in my patellar tendon. i as wondering how would this be for me. im trying to practice my horse stance for strength and endurance, since im going to doing alot of taiji, thank hopefully you respond.
I more or less agree with you. I prefer to avoid having my knee pass the toe line as well as aim for as upright a posture as I can manage when called for, and you're right that the strength and flexibility requirements are different. I personally don't know about knees in front of the heels being "incorrect." But if you could manage a horse stance with thighs parallel to the ground and knees right above the heels, then that would indeed train some nice strength! Work to an ideal, but be fluid...
Learn by watching, but also by doing! I want my students to do what I do while watching. This clip everyone can do while watching. Now get out of the chair and DO SOME WUSHU!
Hello, Jade Xu. My name is Willy and I come from Indonesia. I want to ask something. When doing horse stance, shall I keep the spine in a neutral position (as you did in the video) or tuck my pelvis so my lower back is a bit more straight? Thank you in advance for the reply.

We practice wushu several days a week, these tutorials are very professionally done
Really.
Her stance is so perfect!!!

How lovely to hear you speak Jade. Thanks for this tutorial. We use much of the same moves in the Physical Therapy clinic I work in, when rehabbing dancers. Love your stuff.

You can see the energy radiating from her
I see alot of energy 😏
The description of the stance realy helped me to do exactly the same position. Thanks.
Good video.
The description is completely wrong with respects to how she does it though. Like literally nothing she does is what is written on screen.

Your horse stance is utterly beautiful.

Some people parctice actual Kung Fu. This is wrong, and it's garbage.
Virginia - and you are garbage!
Virginia I've trained with her in China and saw here when she was a child very impressive you would not last one minute in a Chinese martial art class traditional or contemporary you have no idea what real martial arts is and the best teachers I found were in the small villages and that was in the early eighties
@Virginia That's because this is Modern wushu, not the traditional Kung Fu you are thinking about.
@@LeriObbathe first thing you must learn on any martial art is respect. I think you are very missguided. Ask your teacher about it.
This just showed up in my recs and I'm an instant fan! Wanna learn more now, you are really I souring to watch!
I Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. Keep on rocking, lady!!!!
Beautifully done ✅ with packed energy and technic. Excellent job!
Yes, Jade Xu! I'm loving all your tutorials! Using them as good examples for some youths that I assist in training. And for myself. In fact, I think I'm in love! :) Just please don't hurt me! ha ha

Nice strong foundation! I've never seen anyone in my style that look like this.
Wow just awesome tutorials!! I have been fan of them :) I would like a tutorial request on exercises on how to do complete split. That's where I m weak.. I can't get my split full. Thanks
