    Cats love learning tricks just like a dog. Mine sit pretty, kiss me on my nose, turn around, do a high five and another five down low. They sit , lay down. Thier names are Magnolia and Bear. Easy fun tricks found hints on you tube. Bear used to play fetch with his toy mousie too, but he's gotten bored with it.

    When I was a kid growing up. My family’s first 2 cats were both indoor and outdoor. One stayed close to home and the other cat did wonder around the neighborhood. One was about 13 years old that had a cancerous tumor in him. The other cat lived with my parents almost 18 years with my parents. Both cats were sweet and friendly. The older cat became sweet and friendly when he got older. I do missed those 2 cats. The 2nd cat had a special bond with me.

    I hide hard treats then use the laser to help my cats catch them. Kinda their own little kills. 😅.. I am guilty of keeping dry food out because my babies can't be hungry but I give them wet food/treat twice a day so they'll have it to look forward to. The only downside is I can't ever sleep late because they know and make sure I know it's breakfast time.😂

      We compromised here. Like you we feed wet twice a day but they only get dry with their evening feed. They're better for it, have lost the excess weight they'd gained (free feeding = fat indoor cats) and they're less of a pain in the posterior at 4am.
      Laser pointer to food is a great idea.

      @@UKCougar We've been really lucky. Even our 6 yr old Russian blue isn't over weight. Her baby sissy is a 6 month old Maine Coon so she's long and thin. If either starts gaining too much weight we'll probably take the full time dry food away.

    My cat has so far brought two mice in and a huge rat, she also jumped off a garage to get a seagull, but it had a fight with her and got away. I had live frogs brought in that I set free and had a pigeon dropped on my knee.
    She gets feds 3-4 100g pouches of food and extra tuna, when she asks.

      Thank your cat for the presents and tell her not to catch wild life. Is always a risk with rats and mice if people use poison. My cat likes to eat when I eat. She loves tuna and also the gravy lovers cat food. I don't think some of the gravy style food has much protein in it. Poppy is 18years old and brought me a baby honeyeater as a present recently. It was able to fly, I was able to rescue it and no harm done. However, I did make it clear to Poppy that while she was outside she was not to go after any more birds. We had quite a conversation!! A lot of different miaows I think she was trying to say she didnt mean to harm the bird!! For a couple of days I only let her outside with me supervising her. For an 18 year old she is remarkably agile.

    • @dorothyharris2105
      @dorothyharris2105 Год назад

      Just bringing you presents. Thank her and tell her not to eat the rats and mice. Sounds about right with the cat food. Tuns is more satisfying because it is all protein, the other sachets vary in quality, it is important to vary the cat's diet and also include some good quality dry food to snack on or cat treats, depending what your cat likes. Maybe a little cooked chicken or other meat. Poppy likes the chicken skin and flesh when its warm. Will not eat raw meat at all. Just gradually introduce other foods. You will soon find out what your cat likes and dislikes. Cats only have a small stomach. Poppy eats when I eat but also loves a late night snack!! Then has late breakfast next day. Best wishes.

      never on the sidewalk, only the empty side or corner of a slow park.
      but, the older cat couldn't go to the park unless you got a body lease, their need trees and bushes or they will run off when scare. try on the small yard they can go by the plants , if their too afraid , of noise and people give up. you can lose forever, and it be your fault.
      tif they get afraid slip out of lease as that what they try, it takes about a yr, but still it's a risk. get a cat carrier as a start and see how they like it, but need a body lease out if it all the time.and next to you as you need to watch for dogs or people getting close that will frighten them.

      A cat needs to jump about, and if it’s carry all that extra weight like us it was struggle you are giving a far too much food for the cats sound good. You need to measure it so she gets a weight down. I was the same with my cat, so frightened of the cat, being hungry, I left food down all the time and now people say is she fat or is she pregnant? So I have started being a little bit more mindful of what I give her

      I had a singleton who was the meanest kitten I ever had. After two failed attempts at adopting a kitten companion for him, I found a bold little stray from the shelter. The new kitten changed the behavior of that mean cat. He started to mellow, and he now even comes to sit by me and beg for pets. He's sweet and loving now that he has a friend.
      Competition for attention changed his demeanor and made him a much happier cat. They play and keep each other company when I'm not home.
      So I wish I had adopted two at the same time. Live and learn.

    How I keep my cat happy? He goes in/out of the house that's how. To lock a cat up all day in a house is abuse IMO. And I don't want to hear oh it's not safe for them. You driving a car everyday there's a chance you could hurt yourself too.
