- Join me on a tour of Atlanta's Delta Flight Museum. It's a must visit flight museum for any avgeek travels. In this video, you'll see some of the highlights of Delta Air Lines' Flight Museum. We'll check out the:
- Delta Flight Museum Boeing 747,
- Delta Flight Museum 767,
- Take a look at the Delta Flight Museum Simulator,
- The Delta Flight Museum DC-3
- The Delta Flight Museum Convair 880 prototype cockpit.
There are tons of exhibits including tons of airplane models.
This is one of the coolest commercial aviation flight museums I've visited. The highlight for me was probably getting to go inside the retired Delta Air Lines Boeing 747, but the "Spirit of Delta'" Boeing 767 was also very cool. What do you think the best part of the museum was? Leave a comment!

I flew on that plane to Amsterdam in Spring of 2015 and it was one of my favorite airplane rides (not just because I am an avgeek). My seat was 77K. Before we left the gate in Atlanta, I was taking a look at the cockpit and the captain invited me to sit in his seat and take pictures! It was my first and only ride (so far) on an active 747. In 2017, I got to visit the plane at the museum and I was able to return to my seat. It is absolutely my favorite part of the museum and I love looking at it every time I am flying in and out of ATL. Truly an awesome plane! Thanks Jeb for the memories!
Great video Jeb! Thanks for the acknowledgement of Northwest's 747. People often forget they were the launch customer of the 747-400.
RE Ohtz agreed. Northwest was such an amazing airline, I really miss it.
Continental was the launch customer for the 747.
Pixel Adventurer, correct you are...the 747-100
Forgive me for correcting you guys but ... In April 1966, Pan Am ordered 25 747-100 aircraft for US$525 As launch customer, and because of its early involvement before placing a formal order, Pan Am was able to influence the design and development of the 747 to an extent unmatched by a single airline before or since.
T.W.A. followed pretty soon@@robyoungquist5803
The 747 was involved in Northwest 85, and was the 1st of the -400 series.
This museum will be my 1st stop on my next trip to Atlanta... whenever we can all fly again.
I watch a lot of youtubers, and you have become my favourite very quickly, you have a fun personality, your enthusiasm is contagious and your production quality is great! I love how you say we should press the dislike button twice 😂😂😂. And your videos are about aviation 😍
7:32 LOL that mini cooper
My dad flew that 767 spirit of Delta. He flew for Delta after they merged with Western Airlines.
Loved the video on the museum. I booked the 737 simulator today/ excited the visit the whole museum.
You are such an underrated youtuber!
I think I saw the guy from 74 gear on 1:34

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Delta is my favorite airline. I've flown with them since the 80s. The retro logos and the TriStar... awesome.
That place looks amazing! My favorite part was probably when you went inside the 747, it was truly spectacular to see that peace of history! ✈️
I was there last summer! The museum was so cool! My favorite part was definetely the 747. You can’t pass up the Queen. I love planes but o has never been in one so it was quite the experience for me. Great video Jeb! Keep up the good work! Next, I think you should see the museum in Seattle with the original 747
If I didn’t have a reason to visit Atlanta I certainly do now. That museum looks fantastic.
Jeb Brooks would need permission from the better half for that trip. Supposedly the wedding comes first!
Awesome as always! Thanks for sharing Jeb!
Great video - very interesting. And enough shots of the watch to last until your next video !
I rode on one of the first Delta 707's and the last of the Delta DC6B's going from Cincinnati to
and from Chicago in 1964. I was in college at UC back then. Thanks for the Museum tour.
This 747 is the first 400 delivered and it was delivered to Northwest airlines. This aircraft was also Northwest 85 which made an astonishing emergency landing 2 hours after a 17 degree lower rudder hard over
Its a very nice place! A AV GEEK HEAVEN!
I'm the son of one of the employees that purchased the Spirit of Delta. I remember attending the ribbon cutting ceremony with my mother. The 767 had a huge red bow tied around it and we all got the chance to walk through the plane. A few months after the event, each employee who donated to the initiative received a commemorative poster which included a picture of the plane at the ceremony and a 2" square clipping of the red bow. I was also fortunate to fly in seat 7A aboard a Delta 747 from Amsterdam to Atlanta a few years ago before they retired the fleet. Thanks for taking me on a trip down memory lane. The museum is on my must see list upon a future trip back to Atlanta.
Nice to see a plane that flew my parents and me, from NJ to Miami, FL in 1946
I might be going there soon! I cant wait! (Mainly for the 747 and the simulator) :D
so cool history on the Delta
I loved your tour of the Delta 747! Both onboard and underneath!!
Thanks for a great video. A must see for any aircraft buff! I enjoyed it all, the 767 has a great story, the 747, with it's great views on board... the floor view and the back of the upper galley! I used to work on them, that was a first for me.... Great video!
great video Jeff!! My fave part probably the 747
My wife and I will be there in February… can’t wait. Great video thanks!!!
I skipped the opportunity for a return flight on a Delta 747 from LAX to DTW. I regret not going on that flight. Good to see they have one on display, I'll have to go visit next time I'm in Atlanta.
Thx for the presentation Jeb. As a sidebar, American Airlines operates the C.R. Smith Museum in Texas. I scheduled a 4 hour layover at DFW so I could enjoy the museum. So glad I did. 👍🏻. Btw, being OLD, I remember flying the Delta 880 (along with the DC-8-61) between Chicago O’Hare and Florida many times over. When that thing screamed down the runway for takeoff, it felt like we were in a rocket!
Thanks for mentioning Paul Stewart. His enthusiasm for aviation musueums is contagious! 😁
Awesome! Loved it!! Delta is my favorite airline..
Thanks for showing us the Delta museum! What an amazing place. I am glad to see the Delta really cares about their history and that they want to preserve it. Great work as usual Jeb, your channel just keeps going from strength to strength.
Awesome! Awesome! Thanks for making and sharing this video. I happen to love airplanes, buses, trains, automobiles and cruise ships. Each provides unique travel experiences.
I went there in 2017, but it was a short day trip. We flew DCA-ATL in the morning and back in the evening. Due to my friend wanting me to try the simulator, and us wanting to spot at ATL before our 5:30 flight back, we didn’t have much time to explore the museum. 😞It was still a fun day.
Great video! I was thinking about going there this fall and now I definitely will. Thanks.
I was there a month ago and i absolutely loved it
i loved this museum myself I loved the respect the show the planes they chose to fly and a connection and they strive to place with it
I think the DC-3 is in a lot of airline museums because the American Airlines C.R. Smith museum in Dallas has one too. I think you should check out that museum too.
I started to have a warm heart when I saw the 767
That was an awesome tour! Thanks for the video! Hopefully I can make it out there someday!!
I was there just last week! It was my first time in ATL and I used a lot of my 5 hour layover here. My favourite part was definitely getting up close to the 747 and standing on the wing.
Hey man LOVE your videos! They're super informative and seeing your interview with the Delta CEO was pretty cool!
About 18 months ago I flew on DL from JFK to TPA. My seat mate was a TPA DL ticket agent who was on the 747 committee working on the museum display (it was not yet open). Employees had a lot of input and did a lot of work on the project. It's nice to see your tour of the museum and how the 747 display turned out. The lady also gave me a great recommendation for a "locals" Cuban restaurant in TPA, which I did visit and the meal was great. Enjoyed the video, I haven't had enough time in ATL lately to visit the museum.
Thanks for sharing, love the vid
Great show. I enjoyed it very much. I’m also a great fan of Delta. When I was doing a lot of business travel in the ‘80’s and ‘90’s I did my best to fly them. This included flying into JFK (my least favorite US airport) from LAX as this was the only Delta non-stop into NYC at the time. The A-310 was the equipment used for the morning departure out of LAX. These planes came from Pan Am after their demise. One small item-I am pretty sure the fastest commercial airliner was the Convair 990. I am old enough that I remember watching my Father boarding one in LA many years ago. In any case, very informative. Thanks for the effort.
That was really cool! I would love to visit this museum!
That's awesome!
great video as always! can’t wait to visit this place sometime!
Thanks for your great reviews.
Always nice to see :-)
Loved the video, favorite part was the tour of the 747.
Love this video thank you❤️❤️👍🏻
I always look forward to your videos. I love your passion and enthusiasm when speaking.
Thanks for another great video.
Very well done video. I enjoyed it. We also went to the Delta Flight museum and enjoyed it a lot. We even did a (amateur) video about the museum as a whole. Keep coming with those videos and have a great day.
If you go to the Walt Disney Family Museum in SF, you can see his United luggage tag, his 100,000 mile one, and a United Pen (as well as his backyard train, a model of Disneyland, and all of his Oscars and Golden Globes). Super cool and highly recommended! The talking parrot at the end is awesome too!
I would love to go there! I can't wait!
I remember that POS. We called her a hanger queen. That ship had more problems than the tritantic. If memory serves right the jack screw was cracked on the stabs. But I’m old now and it’s been years since I’ve thought about that nightmare
OMG! So AWESOME! 😲
I live just north of Atlanta and had no idea this museum existed. Looking forward to visiting! Thanks for the great video!
Loved it
Thank you!! I often fly through ATL and I need to make time to visit the museum!
Great video. Thanks for doing this one, I've always wanted to go there. 767 story was pretty darn cool
I really enjoyed seeing you inside the 767 and 747. I want your job!
The 747 of course. Excellent as usual. :) Keep up the great work.
Ive flew Delta for years. Every jet from their DC-9 all the way to their Tristar L10-11. Remember the 727.. What a work horse.. Jeb i was even lucky enough to fly a TWA 707 with ash trays cause you could smoke lol from New York to Philly on its last voyage. Wish i could of flew the concorde before it was cancelled. Thanks jeb for sharing with us.. Hey when enjoying flying in the sky here is another guy you probably watch ,Paul*s trip reports.. He also has a good channel you might enjoy..

and this was normal.. lol
Great video
Jeb! Its amazing 😉
Wow, this is so cool.
Fantastic video. The Delta museum is definitely on my list of places to visit. I'm in Columbia, SC so it will be a nice weekend trip from me. Especially loved the 747, probably my favorite plane. Thanks for all your videos and I always enjoy every one of them !!
Outstanding. I miss riding upstairs on the 747
Great video! That place looks so cool!
Will be in Atlanta in November and I will definitely drop in. Excellent report thanks. Didn't even know that there was such a museum.🤓🤓🤓
What an awesome experience, and I love that these planes are still being used (although not in the sky) as museum exhibits instead of being left in a graveyard in the desert. I’d love to see the 747 but it’s a shame they never had DC-10s because I’d like to see a real (non-cargo) one of those too. Great video as always.
Brilliant video! So glad I subscribed. Enjoying your channel. 😀
You make it fun, for someone like me who's chicken to fly! Sometimes I'm holding my breath watching you take off! Not bad at all!
Was in Seattle about 3 years ago and went to ALL the museums, including two tours of the Boeing factory, which was awesome! I see fro your video that there’s some new stuff like the 747... gotta go back soon!
Love it! :)
I visited this flight museum in Feb, 2017 for the first time. The 747 display was still under construction, so I was not able to go inside it. The rest of the museum was great. I used to work for a subsidiary of Delta called Delta Global Services (DGS). Would love to meet you sometime and visit this again.
Thank you Jeb,
I really enjoyed this
Great overview vid of the museum. I just got my tickets today to fly up there for a visit on Sept 29th.
Hey Jeb, thanks for the shout out! Looking forward to meeting you in person in a few months!
Awesome Jeb, I thought I was crazy about planes, but I think you might have me beat, as always GREAT JOB!!!
Thanks for the video. On my bucket list. Been thru ATL tons of times and never took
The time to see the museum. You made me want to go.
Nice ! Enjoyed it
Heading there in October. Monday the 8th for the simulator and then Tuesday for the DC3 tour... Wed and Thursday making the pilgrimage to Senoia for The Walking Dead. Thanks for the video! It was nice to get a feel of the place before I head there.
Awesome! I went there a few weeks ago!
I didn't know that existed, thanks for sharing! I'll definitely visit next time I'm in ATL.
AWESOME........👍👍❤
Great video Jeb!!
Next Time I'm in Atlanta, I'm going! Awesome Video as always!
Sad for 747 being replaced thank you for the cool video
Loved the 747 and 767
Wow I’m really happy to see that 747 at the Museum. My Grandfather was the Northwest Captain who picked the plane up from the Boeing Factory.
Jeb, great Nationals cap! (I'm from DC) The DAL History of Flight museum is one of my faves!!! Was there last year.
Hey. Your enthusiasm is great !!!
I’m going to Atlanta for 1 day staying at the renaissance with the aviator package I will go here.
Another great video!
This video was awesome
Very cool Jeb! Go Nats!
How did i miss your interview with Ed...my favorite airline CEO 😭 this video is so nostalgic I miss riding Delta One in the upper deck.
That Delta 747-400 in Northwest livery was operating Northwest airlines flight 85 from Detroit to Tokyo when it suffered a rudder hardover and they landed the plane safely in Anchorage
Next time I fly into Hartsfield, I should definitely make the museum a place to visit! Cool video Jeb!
Cool video now I want to go to that
