  • People call marriage “tying the knot.” The truth is tying the knot starts when you’re dating, long before the wedding day. In this message, we discuss Song of Solomon chapters 2 and 3 to see an example of how to date in a way that sets you up for a marriage that will last. __

I have listened to many sermons on romantic relationships/dating through the years, and I must say, this is, hands down, the very best that I've heard. It's very down to Earth and straightforward.

Sometimes it’s not that that person does not have the heart of Christ to accept you, but it’s because you are not willing to acknowledge and apologize for your past to that person who may need an apology from you. Also, some people are honest about their past but they still practice that sin and won’t stop. Therefore, some of us cannot work with that present self of them, but that doesn’t mean if the person can’t accept it that they don’t have the heart of Christ. That person is not willing to work on dying to their flesh and sins so we have to move on, but it’s not because we don’t love them or don’t have the heart of Christ to accept their past and present.

10:58 That is the MOST DISGUSTING thing one could ever say in the house of the Lord, ESPECIALLY from the pulpit. How could you even JOKE about a woman like that? Whether you are married or not, speaking about a woman's body in such a way is disrespectful. Yes, it is a bible verse. But the man in Song of Soloman is talking about his own wife in the context of his own marriage. this is a sermon to mostly singles who are NOT married, therefore should not be viewing any woman in such a way at all at the time. to even suggest to memorize this verse is revolting. If it was said in a joking manner is even worse. In what way is it okay to joke about admiring the body of a woman, especially if you are not married? why not encourage the memorization of scriptures that are more applicable to this season of life instead? please be mindful and wise about the way you speak to your church, ESPECIALLY the youth.

Dude, you are just taking your own perspective toward dating and pretending that the Bible supports it. Let the Bible speak to people on its own. It doesn't need your interpretation with an emphasis on your personal perspective.

Dude, you're pushing your own values and your own worldview regarding dating and acting like the Bible supports it. Be honest and just admit that the Bible doesn't say what you're saying and that you're just trying to get people to see things your way.

Dating is not in the bible whatsoever. It takes a Christian to read something into it that's not there. You won't even try to learn about Hebrew culture--how glaringly anti-semitic of you.

@@mtk909 she is correct though in part. courting was in the bible however the bible was written about what they grew up with in society unlike us where alot of questions nowadays the bible doesn't have because it didnt exist back then

@@mtk909 There's nothing anti Semetic about what Jenna said. Dating is not in the bible. People are extrapolating the Bibles message to conform to their own views when they pretend that the Bible has a message about dating. It's bullshit. These people are charlatans.

@@badbonezthlegnd2049 I agree. It was a very different time and a very different time when the books of the Bible were written. When one claims to know the "Biblical" way of dating in the 21st centry, whatever they say should be taken with a large grain of salt.
