Hey grian! for the next series, how about call it afterlife, and have it be so that when a hermit dies three times they come back as a ghost that can't interact with anything in the world but can still communicate, and maybe some way that they could come back to life if they can for instance trick someone into going to a certain coordinate AKA a ritual site.
Tbh I thought it was a good idea IF they had executed it right. Surrounded by player enemies, they had a great opportunity to seek the mob hoarde and then unleash it on their pursuers while they escape, Scar falling in was the slip up that bent it for them lol, it would have been epic if the red names came down to just be flooded with zombies as Scar and Grian tunnel out the other side of the hole bocking themselves in and leaving the reds to deal with the mobs. But it's Scar and Grian so they had to mess it up XD still epic to think about if it had worked in their favor.
When everyone stared at the ship burning and paying reapects to tango and jimmy with the music it was like the fighting stopped just for a moment and everyone agreed that it was the right thing to do to watch etho and joel suffer. Great episode!!
Ironically, Scar foreshadowed the episode in the first ten seconds; nearly dying twice, and showcasing the lethality of falling spikes when helmets aren't a thing
This is such a good example of Chekov's Gun. You had the set up at the beginning of the video, finding out how deadly Dripstone is, then in the climax, it all paid off when you used it.

Idea: "Shrink life Uses third life system (or last life system, either works), but map starts extremely large, then shrinks each time that somebody dies. As the series progresses, the map gets smaller and smaller as people die, meaning people encounter each other more, leading to exponentially more chaos toward the end of the series, as resources continue to deplete due to the shrinking of the map. This would also allow for people to have more opportunities to get lots of resources at the beginning of the game (to make getting good gear easier), and for extra conflict to occur with whoever controls the center of the map, as they would have an advantage at the end of the game.
I've been a big fan since the barge times, and recently become hearing impaired, I've found subtitles very helpful for watching content on youtube, but the effort put into the subtilties on this video made my experience amazing. Going from auto generated subtitles to color coordinated, labeled subtitles is night and day and I am so grateful for it, I thank you for the quality of your work, in all it's aspects.

It was literally perfect, if Ren had stopped running for a tenth of a second, or hadn't hit the ledge when running, he wouldn't have died. The timing of Grian breaking the support is literally perfect.
@@Bruno.GCF05 LOL yes I was paying attention Mr condescending but it was sheer luck, he didn't calculate where ren was and predict that it would hit him. He took a chance and just broke it after seeing ren below him. As I said I'm not saying it wasn't a good kill but it wasn't "skillful" it was just luck, he broke it and ren happened to go underneath. Scar had to use skill to perfectly time the bucket whilst in a rush and panic after falling from a great height. Big difference

I just realized that this is the second time Grian has named an episode “Uh Oh” in this series. I do suppose it works because he gets down to red in both episodes, but it’s still strange.

Funny how the last two times in the series, everyone tried their upmost to survive, but as soon as someone dies along with you, people almost and not almost kill themself all the time.
Next series: Timmy's Life. It's just like 3rd Life, but when Timmy dies, the entire server goes down with him. So rather than competing to see who can survive the longest, it's just everyone trying to protect Timmy.
It was such great forshadowing at the begining when scar almost died to the dripstone for the kill at the end. Grian must have realized how powerfull it was when he took like 6 hearts from one dripstone.

Random thought but what if the next series is called “Half life” where throughout the series you start with 20 hearts on green,15 on yellow and 10 on red, throughout the series/ the more damage you take your health slowly decays to half of the original value
After Grian said he and BigB were still secret soulmates, I almost expected the episode to end with Grian jumping off a cliff in solidarity, killing himself and Scar in the last seconds of the session.
If I had a nickel for every time Grian killed BigB just because he was affiliated to RenDog I would have 2 nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

This series is crazy. I have never seen Ethoslab and tango stun silence before. I guess it just goes to show you that everyone may have a hidden Minecraft pro inside them even scar.
In the next season of the "life series" you should have a designated graveyard at spawn. Everyone makes thier own gravestone at the beginning with a book and someone is elected "The Book Keeper" That players sole job is to note in everyones books when they die. So if Pearl got blown up by Tango. Even accidently. The Book Keeper has to write the death message in pearls book. Then the victor has to go to the graveyard once everyone is dead and reflect on thier actions that lead to this point. If nothing more than some story to this cool series.
When the people who has the worst soulmate relationship are the last yellows, and the others who have pretty good relationship with their soulmates are red, then does that mean bad relationship is the way to survive?
I think, it's more of a despair on losing another life. When the last life is due, you instinctively switch sides. In my opinion, that's how survival works.
In this game, yeah, it's actually a good strategy. They can keep each other alive from a distance but are rarely in the same place, and their actual allies don't lose any hearts when they do, meaning they effectively have double health bars.
This series progressed a lot quicker than I expected, it's the first of the Life series I've watched and I had no idea there would be so many reds and yellows by only episode 5

It's always interesting to see what parts each creator cuts out from the various pairs. If you guys usually only watch Grian I would definitely recommend watching Scar as well this week. There's bit of convo missing which gives greater context (like why exactly they went to the zombies, whose the better Sand dealer etc) and for those curious about Scar knowing about Big B there's a couple other things Scar does for Grian that obviously Grian can't show because he wasn't there but it's worth it from Scars POV. Scar's known about Big B for awhile now btw and has a mini alliance with Pearl (I think they still have it) on the basis of being rejected and that might have been one of the reasons she let them stay in the tower. It's why they so were so happy to be doing the cactus stuff.
@@amber8921 I normally start with etho and go from there, grian was a mandatory 2nd after that stalactite kill. (Mainly to see if Etho was a target, which he clearly was) I guess pearl is now number 3 to watch for this round. Its also fascinating to watch each soulmates perspective just to see the difference in what they choose to cut or keep, and what they do alone.
Its very interesting how each perspective gives a different context. Like, this series has a striking amount of dramatic irony to it, even compared to the other life series.' It seems like a lot of very careful editing helps this too. Watching each individual perspective you only get the information that that person has. But watch everybody and suddenly the full picture becomes clear and lots of sneaky little things start to pop up and become important.
My idea for next season: "Hidden Life" Everyone starts off with a range of 2-4 Lives, except for one who starts on 1. The twist is that everyone's lives are completely hidden from everyone else and they cannot be disclosed. This will likely cause a lot of drama as people are finished off sooner than expected, as well as likely to have people fake the red status to give themselves more leverage.
let's be real, that zombie pit death was totally on Grian for hearing "sounds of death" and deciding to go closer, with Scar in tow, on the run lmao but also seeing scar completely fall for Etho's and Joel's silly TNT pile from afar was so funny THAT SCREAM WHEN IT WORKED OH MY GOD dripstone underrated

This episode/session is going to spawn so many animated clips. In Grians episode alone we have; -Grian almost killing Scar with dripstone -Pearl and Scar almost killing Scott and Grian with Cactus damage. -The Saluting to the RelationShip as it Burns down during the funeral -Scar and Grians death by Zombies -Scar and Grians death by TnT -Big B and Rens death The list can go on if we even count in everyone else's perspectives! This session was amazing.
my favourite part is how grian killed ren who he was jealous of for ages because ren was bigb's soulmate so he really went "if I can't have him... no one can"
Idea for next season: "False Life", people are given between 2-6 lives, but also get to CHOOSE how many lives it displays they have. This way, people with fewer lives can pretend they have more to seem more powerful, and people with more can pretend to have less as to seem less threatening. You can trade lives. Once someone that chooses to seem to have less lives reaches 1 life, they will have 1 life until they actually die. And when people who choose to seem to have more lives reach 0 actual lives, they die. Another idea: Once someone dies, they can choose one other player with at least 2 lives and plead with them for 5 minutes about why they should give them one of their lives. Yet another idea: Make lives craftable with 4 diamonds, 2 gold ingots, 2 iron ingots, and 1 golden apple

After Grian said he and BigB were still secret soulmates, I almost expected the episode to end with Grian jumping off a cliff in solidarity, killing himself and Scar in the last seconds of the session.
If I had a nickel for every time Grian killed BigB just because he was affiliated to RenDog I would have 2 nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

I think scar had a moment like that last season as well, because he was on like 7 lives and then dropped to two I think in one episode

In the next season of the "life series" you should have a designated graveyard at spawn. Everyone makes thier own gravestone at the beginning with a book and someone is elected "The Book Keeper" That players sole job is to note in everyones books when they die. So if Pearl got blown up by Tango. Even accidently. The Book Keeper has to write the death message in pearls book. Then the victor has to go to the graveyard once everyone is dead and reflect on thier actions that lead to this point. If nothing more than some story to this cool series.
Man, I saw that trap for yellow Scar clear as day. They knew he'd come for a random pile of TNT, and detonate it when he got close.
When the people who has the worst soulmate relationship are the last yellows, and the others who have pretty good relationship with their soulmates are red, then does that mean bad relationship is the way to survive?
I think, it's more of a despair on losing another life.
When the last life is due, you instinctively switch sides.
In my opinion, that's how survival works.

In this game, yeah, it's actually a good strategy. They can keep each other alive from a distance but are rarely in the same place, and their actual allies don't lose any hearts when they do, meaning they effectively have double health bars.

It's always interesting to see what parts each creator cuts out from the various pairs.
If you guys usually only watch Grian I would definitely recommend watching Scar as well this week. There's bit of convo missing which gives greater context (like why exactly they went to the zombies, whose the better Sand dealer etc) and for those curious about Scar knowing about Big B there's a couple other things Scar does for Grian that obviously Grian can't show because he wasn't there but it's worth it from Scars POV.
Scar's known about Big B for awhile now btw and has a mini alliance with Pearl (I think they still have it) on the basis of being rejected and that might have been one of the reasons she let them stay in the tower. It's why they so were so happy to be doing the cactus stuff.
Someone in Pearl's comments said it best, Pearl's perspective is essential viewing for this series

@@amber8921 I normally start with etho and go from there, grian was a mandatory 2nd after that stalactite kill. (Mainly to see if Etho was a target, which he clearly was)
I guess pearl is now number 3 to watch for this round.
Its also fascinating to watch each soulmates perspective just to see the difference in what they choose to cut or keep, and what they do alone.
Its very interesting how each perspective gives a different context. Like, this series has a striking amount of dramatic irony to it, even compared to the other life series.' It seems like a lot of very careful editing helps this too. Watching each individual perspective you only get the information that that person has. But watch everybody and suddenly the full picture becomes clear and lots of sneaky little things start to pop up and become important.
I love how they went over to have a wake for Tango and Tim, and ended up holding a viking funeral for the relation-ship on the side

My idea for next season: "Hidden Life"
Everyone starts off with a range of 2-4 Lives, except for one who starts on 1. The twist is that everyone's lives are completely hidden from everyone else and they cannot be disclosed. This will likely cause a lot of drama as people are finished off sooner than expected, as well as likely to have people fake the red status to give themselves more leverage.
That could be good but it’d just create drama, maybe if you can only see others lives once you’re in the red

Idea for next season: "False Life", people are given between 2-6 lives, but also get to CHOOSE how many lives it displays they have. This way, people with fewer lives can pretend they have more to seem more powerful, and people with more can pretend to have less as to seem less threatening. You can trade lives. Once someone that chooses to seem to have less lives reaches 1 life, they will have 1 life until they actually die. And when people who choose to seem to have more lives reach 0 actual lives, they die.
Another idea: Once someone dies, they can choose one other player with at least 2 lives and plead with them for 5 minutes about why they should give them one of their lives.
Yet another idea: Make lives craftable with 4 diamonds, 2 gold ingots, 2 iron ingots, and 1 golden apple
I like the second idea! For the last one I feel like it needs to be something more valuable like a piece of netherite.
