That's what I'm looking for! BUT, what happens to the wear comp value if I want to finish other features with this tool as well afterwards, or 20 parts in a row, and I want it to equally start out with the value at zero first ?
I’ve got a pre”NGC” control on a haas vf3. I know the older controls don’t have all the newest features but I do have the wips. Where will my measurements show up on the control like yours ? Or can it do this in process probing at all ?
We have the same situation with our TM1P. How do you number tools - I cannot see a way to have a tool 99 in the tool changer when we only have 10 pockets (we have it as T1) Have you found a way to transfer tool data from Fusion 360 to Haas without having to manually input data for each tool? I would love to keep tool data in Fusion, mount tools, send data from fusion, probe and run. Am I just a dimwit that cannot figure that out?
Great video! Do you have a link to your Fusion 360 file (the link to the part doesn't have a URL)? Would like to use it to machine the same and learn from this.
i would love to be able to use the functionality which you showed really well, but for $1600 (on sale for $1120) myself and most others not your size will have to pass
Ed there is much more than just this feature inside the machining ext even working from your garage is worth every penny. If you would like Im happy to sit down and review this with you.
@@fusionphil2161 Thanks for the offer Phil, but it's not something I can justify - over 2k a year for fusion just doesnt seem reasonable - to bad its not in the range of $200-300 then many I'm sure would consider it - BTW you should make more videos - they are very good
@@edvig2015 Well I dont know what your long term path looks like however we are Hiring at NexGenCAM if your looking to change over to the Tech side and do trainings.
Yeah pay less skilled guys. That BS thought process is exactly why no one is becoming a Machinist anymore. Shops begging skilled guys to come work for them. what happens when this generation of Machinists are gone? You can just have the machine run itself. We will see how that goes.
That's amazing - basically a self correcting CMM, without removing the part!
Another great video Jason! :)
Thank you Jason. You’re one of RUclips’s best.
Can I do this on my X7 with a Siemens control?
as long as you have probing and a post that is set up properly you should be all good

Great video. This could also be implemented on a mill/turn center correct?
All of this is equally applicable to a syil. Correct?
I am curious if the post would have to support this or if it's just the control that needs to support in process probing.
Great information. I’ve held off learning how to implement this and your video makes it easy enough I’lol actually do it now.
Better video this time around
As always excellent videos! Question do you not use coolant here for the sake of the camera? Or you find Air is good enough? Cheers

man I wish my fadal could do this great video as always
So your Fadal very well could. If you have a probe or Add a probe. We have several customers doing full 5 axis on mid 90's Fadal with probing.
@@phillipbrown5389 I have a probe and a tool touch off. I spent a lot of time trying to get it working reliability ended up getting a haimer.
@@joesmith2465 that's why you need our support :) that way we can help you through the process.
@@phillipbrown5389 so you are able to use fusion 360 to probe?
@@joesmith2465 Yes sir. It requires the machine ext however its more limited by the machine than it is software.

Thanks! 😊
I would like to see this on your new syil x5.
me too except it doesnt have a probe
I told you you can do it without editing the g-code ;)
good stuff
I really enjoy your videos, but then I found out you're a Mac user 🤔
LMAO! I use it for my media stuff.....to be honest i'm not a big apple fan these days
@@NerdlyCNC 🤣 keep up the good work! I'll watch them either way!
