As a student of law, I found the law of Torts very interesting. I benefited from reading the books of Clark and Lyndsel and Winfield. Justice Katju, while serving as judge of the Supreme Court, surprised me ,during a private chat at the National Law School of India University , Bangalore, where I was working as Professor of Law, by asking "Where is the Law of Torts?" He had no idea of the implications of the Government of India Act, 1858.
